Downtime early next week due to server move

The lag doesn't bother me much, but if it gets rid of it or downgrades it, wonderful! Thanks!
 
Well maybe I'm slow since I'm attempting to download a torrent. Since I started it I've had to refresh any new page I go to since it says it can't find the server. But when I refresh, its all fine. A lot of images don't show up either, like posted icons or sigs. Maybe it was more me to begin with. Gah.

Besides that, everything seems to be normal.
 
Diar, the server was moved last night.

Exire, that's most likely your problem since you're downloading a torrent, especially if it's large. Since the server has already been moved, I'm going to close this thread now because if you guys are still having problems, I doubt it's the site's fault.
 
Server's been having downtime lately due to various things I've been attempting to do. These may reoccur for a few more days but shouldn't be long-term.
 
Ahhh taht explains the database errors then, good to know, cheers :monster:
 
Well actually LG, the server optimized it looks like, the speed has increased substantially. So if there is an error here and there.. it's all good as long as the speed remains the same.
 
There is no lag for me and the speed has increased. Thanks Lord Golbez. Well it is behaving and I hope it does not get out of hand because I hate lag etc etc..
 
I want to take a sledgehammer to this fucking thing. This new server is marginally (or more than marginally) superior to the old one in pretty much every way, yet completely craps out for one-two+ hours every day causing me loads of work, and my host's techs haven't yet been able to truly isolate the cause. I might have to see if spending an extra $100/month on a SCSI RAID setup will help at all. My stress levels are absolutely soaring.
 
Holy shit, LG. I'm really sorry to hear that we're having all these problems and I'm so sorry that your stress levels are so high. If there's anything we can do to help, please just let us know right away. If not, then I truly do feel for you having to handle all these issues. I hope everything works out for you and us. Don't hesitate to ask if there's anything we can do. I doubt there is, but it doesn't hurt to offer.
 
So everyday at night it goes to hell. Both servers are meh and even the new one is not fuctioning well. But it does eliminate the sb lag a little but the data base errors are still there. Well see what you can do and hopefully FFF can live as a nice forum with no database errors. :hmmm:

The site going AWOL every now and then is pretty aggravating, but I have to say that when it's working, it works like a champ. So I can handle a little bit of a trade-off, as it were.

Better than it ever was before though, as irritating as the page load errors are, over all Id rather live with the odd one or 2 a day than the endless lag. That shit used to terrorise the socks off me
 
I concur, I'm loving the lagless ShoutBox. I understand some things here and there are being taken care of, so the occassional lack of connection to the site is fine be me. But I see this server upgrade being a significant improvement, thanks for the move LG!
 
I'd prefer the lag to not being able to get on at all >.> I'm hope everything get's sorted soon, LG. Although I must say, I'm rather impressed at your swearing haha :wacky:
 
Um I'm not sure what's going on, but I just bought a brand new computer just today and I've set it all up and this was the first place I visited.

Now, the site is not letting me edit most of my posts and sometimes just comes up with a page saying 'Internal Server Error.'

The site is also taking me around 5 minutes each time to load whenever I click on a new thread or something.

It can't be my internet because it's never given me any problems before.

Is this just me? Or is the site still having a few problems.

I only ask because I spoke to a few other people on here and they said that it's all working fine for them.

I have had a few occurences of the server not being found (normally when i'm in the ACP, but on the odd occasion during normal foruming) I have noticed however, that I get them less frequently, but the duration of the mis longer. Where in stead of having up to 5 a day or a few minute spikes I now get it about 3 times, but can last up to 10 minutes :gasp:
 
Can't say I have that problem, no, though in the ACP on occasion it'll lose contact with the server than i'm trying to add/delete things which can be a bother considering the up to 10 minutes timeframe till I can try again :gonk:
