Eidolons, better or worse?

I never felt the need to summon any of my Transformers (Eidolons) I beat the game easily without ever needing to use them. I summoned Odin a few times but that's it.

My favorite would be XII, VII and VIII

My favourite in the games is Bahamut simply because he/she is Bahamut.

The Eidolons were a complete waste of time for me. I only used 1 the whole game and only used it a few times. They are very weak.
