Help Emerald weapon, Ruby Weapon

I killed ruby in about 5 minutes, and Emerald in 7... with no Magic, just Counter attack!

I had Murasame (coz ultimate is low power as u weaken)
Mystile
Ribbon

I Equipped all, master Magic, 4xcut - counter - counter atttack - counter attack - counter attack - counter attack.

and w-item for Hero drinks and elixers.

Ultima missed everytime with this set up, when ruby used it on me. and ruby flame only sent off 34 damage to me. Just make sure you heal yourself, and let the counter attack do the work!

NOTE: I did this with cloud ONLY. You can use 3 against emerald, but not ruby. This was so easy it was boring, if you're having trouble with these bosses, stick in 3 or 4 counter attacks (mastered) and see how u get on, but remember to restore with elxiers! good luck, and kick their ass!
 
For Ruby you can also use Odin to freeze him temporarily and then cast KotR... He can't counter with Ultima b/c he's frozen, just alternate between the two and you should be ok... This is posted in case you don't HAVE 3 or 4 mastered Counter Attacks...

You mean Hades. And yes, that is the easiest way to kill Ruby. Just W-Summon Hades then KotR, and have all your other characters Mime. the fight should be over in about 5-7 minutes.
 
okay, so basically I NEED to have KotR? It's one of the only things I havn't gotten... along with a gold chocobo....

also, what lvl do you guys recommend. Like I said these two things are the only thing I havn't done so some further clarification would be awesome :D

The level is not that important, what is important are the materias. You don't have to be at level 99 to defeat them. It all depends on what materias you equip to your party member and how well you use them. Here is a link that will be helpful to you.

okay, I aced emerald weapon but when I hit ruby weapon I only do like 500 dmg, lol

Ruby Weapon is the toughest one not only because you deal minimum damage, but also because he takes out two of your party members with his whirlsand attack if they are alive. If they are dead then he won't use that attack. I defeated him with Cloud only by using Knights of the Round and Hades. Their are very useful to this fight aswell as Final Attack and Pheonix linked together. Here is another useful link that tells you how to defeat the weapons.

it's much more simple

now for emerald weapon all u need is to equip your ultimate weapons for your party and equip them with at least 2 Knights of the Round. equip each person with mime and one with w-summon... now for ruby weapon have the same thing but equip each person with the final attack-Revive combination or you won't stand a chance
 
I tried using the Hades/KotR strategy, but the bastard stopped being frozen & hit me with an Ultima.

A strategy I heard was to use Cloud & wait until Ruby is out of MP, then revive your characters. I can do one better: Use Barret, then you can take out all of its MP with Mindblow.

On Emerald's side, Air Tam Storm does 1000 damage for each piece of materia you have equipped.

I've never beaten either of them in part because my data is always being corrupted, but I hope that helped & maybe after I get FFVII on the PSN & beat it AGAIN, I'll finally be able to do it.

It just sounds like you guys are just trading recipes lol

If so let me add this, When l take on Ruby or Emerald l like to fight them head to head using summons is wimps way out>Taking down Ruby weapon is harder given its higher defence it requires 5 heor drinks just to bring your damage above 1000, anfd H.drinks stop working after 5 used in a row

Do you guys use the Quadra magic materia or the first strike materia with KoTR?
 
I did it with the following set-up:
Cloud:Mime, Hp-Plus[MASTER],Final Attack-Phoenix, Mp-Plus [Master]
Cid:W-Item, Underwater
Tifa:Quadra Magic-Bahamut ZERO, W-Summon, Kotr-Hp Absorb

Using this I never died (except for Air Tam) and killed it in 25 minutes(due to summon animations. All my chars were about 75 at the time.
Also I dont reccomend 4x-cut because even though it does great damage, you do have a lot of risk involved. With just miming, you have nearly no risk.
