espers

I never did obtain all the espers (I had about 10) and yes there are twelve.
So I take it you beat the game? There are 5 story driven espers and the rest are secrets.
You don't really need them though, I found the summoning system very lacking in this game, My characters pretty much could kill anything with Magic and Quicknings.

I found them all :monster:

It took me quite a while though, especially with Zodiark. He was so far back in those damn mines I thought I'd never find him! As if that wasn't bad enough, the monsters you encounter leading up to him are a complete pain in the arse.

Honestly, I don't see why I even bothered getting them all though. They weren't that much help in battle, not even the almighty Zodiark. Personally, I found magic and high level weapons a lot more helpful.

There are 12 overall? hm well seeing as last time i played i gave each member 2 espers and you have 6 party members im guessing i got all of them, however i didnt think they were worth it, as Stella said magic nd weapons are much better, especially if you have the right combination

i only got them for the challenge tho, im a perfectionist so im doomed to misery lol

I found all twelve aswell with alot of time spent playing in the game. That stupid crystal like a maze to find Ultima with the stupid timed gateways! Although, I barely used any of my espers coz, as mentioned above the system sucks and isnt great, it is still fun to get them out once in a while and run through an area of enemies :D

I have 2 espers Bellias and Matteus there actuially not even that useful personnaly I like quickenings much better because its so fun getting chains of them. Anyways espers are ok but not very useful to me.

There are thirteen; Ultima is the 12th and Zodiark is the 13th.

In my last playthrough, I managed to obtain the first twelve. I have managed to defeat Zodiark, on multiple occasions, but the journey back proves far too difficult. In my latest play, I fully intend to escape out of the Henne Mines without dying (despite being at level 89 in my original game).

Currently...I'm heading for Giruvegan and I've only went out of my way to obtain Adrammelech. I think I'll grab Zalera and Cúchulainn before I continue, though.

On my first and onlyplay through, I got 8, gunna replay it soon, well once Ive completed VII & IV, so it may be a while actually.....

Anyway, yeah, I got 8.

I didnt know there were that many, i believe i got about 9 of them but its been a while so im not 100% sure. I do know tho i never used them, bellias once thats it.

When I pass final fantasy x and x-2 I will go back to FInal Fantasy Xii and get all the espers even though I only have Mateus and Bellias oh and how do you get Zodiark?

MLFY, you have already made a post in this thread saying what you have, coming back and repeating yourself is rather pointless, even if it is too ask a question - which will take the thread off topic anyway, if you want to know about other espers or how to get them, look for an existing thread on that topic, or create a new one

I've got them all but i never use them in battle. Some of there final moves are pretty good especially Zodiark's.

I can't remember how many I have but i'm sure it's at least 7. Most recently beat Exodus and last I played I was hunting down the esper in the sewers (I forget the name)

Zodiark can be aquired when you have 8 espers I think. Go to Jahara and talk to Geomancer Yugulu and he will tell you he has opened a passageway deep in the Henne Mines. Teleport there and go to where you fought Tiamat, then look for the passage a garif is standing beside. Buff yourself up with protect, shell, regen and bubble, cast beserk on your best melee fighter as the enemies in here are the strongest in the game. Also, cast Libra as this place is full of traps.
The first stage is full of Abysteels, strong, bat monsters. They can quickly overwhelm you, and are quick, but they are undead, and will quickly be destroyed by Curaja. They are immune to Arise.
Keep an eye out for a Henne candle, to get an extra piece of map added on.
The second stage is full of those undead, skull monsters. They can cast Annul to put your mp to zero, so be careful, and Necrofiends will come from them when they die, so you can be overwhelmed quickly. Again, they are Undead, so healing and Holy magic is the way to go.
Follow the pathway to Zodiark. Before you enter, buff yourself up again.
Zodiark's Darkja is the strongest attack; it can instantly kill your characters. Apart from that, he's really weak defensively.
Good luck!

well i got 10 espers and there arent 12 there are 13 esper the 13 esper is zodiak

I've got 12 espers, I just need Zodiark....if I ever bother to go get him/her/it. Im on srtike from FFXII atm. Alot of them were unbelievably easy to get. Might have had summat to do with me being overlevelled, but still. Cant say Ive used any of them in battle really, I wqas only getting them for completions sake

And it's 10 you need before you can aquire Zodiark ;))

IT was dificult to obtain the last one because of that stupid maze as i kept getting in fights but there are 12 in all

I didn't find Espers particularly useful so I didn't bother trying to obtain all the Espers. I only wound up with Zalera, Famfrit, Hashmal, Mateus, Shemhazai & Belias, so only six in total.

I'm actually pleased with myself I managed to get them all:monster:
The most annoying ones to battle were Ultima and Zodiark.
Ugh, FINDING Ultima was bad enough, but then the big fat bitch knew I was underlevelled:gasp:
Ah well, Zodiark constantly SPAMMED Darkja and that did my head in, I equipped Dark-absorbing thingies and they didn't even fucking work-__-
Dark=Absorb, Zodiark says no-__-
