espers

I think I've had them all in my second time playing it, Ultima was a pain to find I really did hate her, Hashmal did out a decent fight and so is Zodiark (he was annoying, I even used Gil Toss on him xD).
 
what I got to say is,

I got them all and I have to say that each one was hard to obtain. Doing the sewer area gates, going through the great crystal, and making your way to Zodiak. All were pretty hard. I'm just glad there isn't more.

I've gotten them all.

I found hunting espers fun, except Ultima, that fat bitch. Damn you great crystal!
I didn't get all of them because I use them, actually I never use espers. :gasp:
I got like 11 of them for the Henne Mines secret area.
Then after I used the Henne Mines trick, to get to level 99.
I defeted Yiazzy.
Then I thought I could take on anything in XII.
So I went after Ultima and Zodiark. :P
 
Woo, time for an update, I finally got all the espers, Zodiark and Ultima were terrible, I could feel the veins in my head sreming to burst out of my skin and strangle the ps2 or something. Dying on Zodiark REALLY cheesed me off, people are lucky they werent in my comapany at the time, Ultiam was just annoying, as were one or 2 others, buit the majority of them (probably due to my getting 3 deathbringers early on) weren't all that much of a challenge to get

Can't say I'l ever bother again though >_>
 
i got just the storyline espers. As i found them useless -_-
i mean by the time you get belias, its like 20hours into the game. and by the time you get mateus its like 40 hours, so they F'ed it up imho. like in ffx,ffviii you get gf and aeons quite early in the game and you could utilise them in battle. but by the time you get them your already got a system and theres no room for the underpowered lame espers!!

One of my favorite parts of this game was doing all of the Esper battles and obtaining them all. I got them all on my first play-through and received all of them before I beat the Final boss, except Zodiark. I had to level up my characters a bit more after fighting the final boss before I ventured into the Henne Mines.

Otherwise though, I got all 13 right away.
 
i got em all, but not without the help of a guide or two. for the record, Ultima was BY FAR the hardest esper to get. way harder than zodiark. i got lost so many times in that stupid crystal thingy.
 
I managed to get them all, but I dont think I used any of them even once. They were pretty redundant in the game in my opinion, much easier to just hack away and cast some spells every now and then.

i got them all bt i did read some spoiler to get zodiark... bt i never use any of them in a battle. i hate to see everyone disappeared.
 
Most espers are entirely terrible. In fact, they usually suck! The only good ones are Zodiark and Ultima. And even THEY suck. I didn't start using espers until I got the Arcane Magic, Bubble. If they have bubble status, they can be incredibly evil. Even deadly if you give them Bravery/Faith. If you bubble an esper, they turn about 10x better! About 50x better with Bravery/Faith added to it.
Main point: Espers are TERRIBLE unless given the proper... "tools".
 
Hmmm, only espers i didn't get were Zodiark and Ultima, never tried this Bubble/bravery/faith thing, im going to have to try this when i get the chance, thanx for the great suggestion ulti.
 
If given the proper "tools" (Bubble and Nihopalaoa Elixir), Zeromus will do somewhere around 20K damage with his normal attack and around 50k damage with his Limit Break. The downside is that if he gets hit, he dies. And you just wasted 2 mist charges and an elixir :wacky:
On topic, I have a save on The Great Crystal Kanbhru Pis, just after I pwned Ultima and completed my Esper collection. I'm trying to get to Omega MKXII, but I'M SICK OF THIS PLACE. I started a Low Level Challenge instead :monster: Just before Mateus now.
 
I've gotten twelve espers, on my first playthrough. I'm looking for Zodiac now, I have to level up a bit though, I keep dying whenever I went into that secret place where he is. :gasp:
I never really use the espers, I only collect them. I have used them a couple of times but that's about it.

Aye, Zodiark is "easy", getting to him is NOT easy, however. I was planning to use a fully-charged Dark Matter to finish Zodiark, but I used it along the way :vikki: BLAST YOU, MYTHRIL BUBBLES!!!! :grumpy:
Also, you could look around a bit through that place, you can get tons of stuff from the chests (I got my 2nd Fomalhaut! :awesome:) And DON'T FORGET TO BRING BLACK MASKS AND SHELLGA.
 
I got all of them apart from Zodiark, but I never use the espers. The animations take ages, and they're not that good! Plus there's nothing a few thrusts a zodiac spear wielded by Basch can't solve :D
 
I'm pretty sure the only two I haven't got are Ultima and Zodiark. That's mainly because I can't be bothered with how useful the rest have proved to be (I kept telling myself, the next one will surely be better! Of course it never was -_-) and plus the only time I actually felt the need to summon one (other than when required by the story) my character almost died straight away -_- I wish I had the International Version for the auto-final attack.
 
i have 12 but i still have not got chaos, i cant be botherd going throught all the trouble by getting all the stones, too much hassle
 
I've only gotten 12 out of 13. I still need Zodiark. I go into the Mines and then end up going back. HAHA. That damn esper is so far into the cave I just get annoyed and either turn off the game or go completely back. =/.

Plus, when the enemies gang you and they're at a pretty high level, you get your arse handed to you.

Seriously try that everyone, zodiark ultima and zeromus will shred almost ANY boss to pieces. I beat hell wyrm in 20 minutes just using zodiark and ultima and finished him with zeromus
