Aiden wandered for some weeks after he left the Kingdom of Arnazil. He passed through countless woods, faced unimaginable monsters, and explored the most dangerous places. After a while he arrived at the Alti.
"I need some rest, maybe I can find place to stay in this big town."
Soon after walking through the streets for a while, Aiden arrived at an INN.
"One room please."
"Sure, here is the key, it will cost you 250 gils" The Inn Keeper says.
"Here is your payment." He left the money on the counter and he took the key. He went upstairs until he reached his room. Then he left his sword on the corner and he began to rest.
There was a soft clatter as a pair of dice hit the table. "My 5 beats your 3, friend," Eyan said, chuckling. "Pay up."
"Damn it, Eyan! How the hell do you always win?" Eyan grinned devilishly. "I'm just that good. Anyhow, I heard about some big tournament. Know where it is?"
The man smiled. "It's over in Alit, not too far from here." Eyan stood. "Take care, then." The gambler walked for less than an hour before stumbling across Alit. "All right, this should be an interesting tournament..."
A man with his face hidden by the hood of his cloak appeared on the hill watching the tournament. His eye caught the attention of Faith, who was sat down watching the next battle. "How interesting," he said and laughed to himself. "She's here and she doesn't even know of what power she wields yet. This is the perfect chance to set the Shadows out against this defenceless town."
The same black creatures that were roaming the town in the outskirts appeared around this man. "Go," he commanded. "Go and bring her to me." He disappeared in the mist and the Shadows ran down from the hill to attack the town in search of Faith. In the meantime, Faith saw what was happening. She saw the black creatures and felt she had seen them before. And before she knew it, they had come to the tournament ... to drain those people of their souls right in front of her very eyes.
After resting for a few hours, Aiden woke up and he left the room. He went down stairs, returned the key to the Innkeeper, and he went outside. In there he stared at the sky, he was thinking about the great adventures that awaited for him. He went towards the Armory in order to buy a new armour, the one he had was old and it was time to change it. He entered the shop and he bought a silver armour. He payed 250 pieces of gold to the store owner and he left. Suddenly he heared screams coming out from a dark alley way he saw before. Without losing a single second, he rushed towards the alley in order to see who was in need of help.
Whilst Ein was awaiting his next fight, the crowd erupted in screams of terror, mingled with cries of pain. His eyes narrowed as he looked in the direction of the screams. It was those monsters he was attacked by in the woods. He looked over at the female competitor. Something told him that she had something to do with this. Nonetheless, he ran into the thick of the crowd, yelling at people to move out of the way.
A group of people scattered and he was confronted by a particularly large beast. It reared up and let out a loud roar. Ein backed away a couple of steps and drew out his knife with his free hand. Weilding both the weapon he had been given for the tournament, and his knife, he side-stepped around the monster, looking for a weak spot to attack.
As Aiden approached the alley, he witnessed how an unfortunate human's soul was taken away from his helpless body. "What in hell...." Suddenly the creature noticed the presence of Aiden and it began to ran towards him. Aiden unsheathed his sword and then he slashed through his enemy, killing it almost instantly. Staring at the now empty shell left he now witnessed, Aiden wondered about what kind of creature could do such a thing. "Dear God, what kind of creature from the darkness could do such a thing?"
With so much going on, Faith failed to notice that the Shadows were lurking behind her. She turned to see them and ran away as they narrowly missed her whilst attacking her. "What on earth is going on here?!" she yelled. She noticed an army of the Shadows on the hill and then her eye caught the man standing there with them observing her. A flashing light occured and blinded everyone temporarily ...
Faith had been knocked unconscious. But when the light had disappeared, she herself was lying on the ground glowing full of light. A voice whispered in her mind. "You can do it," it said. "I just know that you can take my place and fight. Don't give up, Faith. There'll be people there for you. Trust them and you'll prevail."
Aiden went towards the town's exit to see what was happening. In there he saw a huge army of shadow monsters on the hill. "They are going to attack the town! I must not allow this to happen." Aiden then called all the people he could get in order to face them. With a small army unorganized made of 100 men, Aiden stood there ready to prevent the shadows from attacking the town. "Warriors of this proud land! We must stop them if we are to protect our families!" Aiden then drew his sword and he pointed it at the army of shadows. "Everyone CHARGE!" The army that was lead by Aiden ran towards the monsters and both armies crashed against each other.
Bao breathed heavily, his rusted sword had slashed through alot of these creatures. He looked around and hid in a pile of brush. (I apologize, school computer.)
Faith opened her eyes and felt somewhat ... different. She was seeing everything through different eyes. She rose to her feet and felt slightly dizzy. Suddenly, the Shadows appeared all around her. She didn't know what to do, but she had seen these monsters before. Little did she know, they had some kind of link to her past. As they jumped into the air to strike her down and absorb her soul, she covered her eyes and the most amazing thing happened.
A metal rod appeared in her hand. The Shadows retreated and ran away in fear of her. Faith looked at the metal rod in her hand. "What is this?" she whispered. "What's happening to me? I feel really strange, but strong." She then remembered what that voice had said to her. The words keep ringing out in my mind. "Enlightened Goddess ... Enlightened Goddess ... I'm the ... Enlightened Goddess?"
Name: Byrne Cometman<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o> Age: 39<o></o> Race: Human<o></o> Job: Scientist<o></o> Power: Great knowledge of the dimensions and great knowledge of how to knock out a person without the use of his knife.<o></o> Weapon: A rather nasty scarlet and black knife that is serrated and looks like it could cause a lot of pain.<o></o> Weakness: Blind in one eye.<o></o> Appearance: Short thin blond hair and one charming blue, one lifeless grey eye. Would be handsome if were not for horrible wounds inflicted upon one side of his head (and an eye) caused by a disastrous experiment. Wears a pinstripe suit (without a tie or top button) underneath a long white lab coat (always open).<o></o> Personality: Blunt and forceful, but dislikes talking.<o></o> History: A scientist who saw no harm in experimenting on humans, but was brilliant, save that unpleasant fact. While alienated from other scientists, Byrne continued his experimental research into dimensions, and on more than one occasion, needed a human guinea pig. And he always got one. In his last experiment, he finally managed to create a fusion between two different dimensions, which would have been glorious, if it were not for the fact that the fusion created an explosion that caught him on the side of the face. He had travelled for the last six months of his life all over, ensuring no one tried to create a dimensional fusion again – he was very lucky.
OoC Sorry for double-posting, but I've tried to edit it but it wouldn't save.
IC Byrne Cometman stepped forward into the town. It was an odd, being there, and knowing he didn’t belong. He looked around, as casually as he could, which wasn’t very convincing as a man called out to him: “You alright, mate? Not lost or anything?” Byrne did his best to look friendly, and strode up to him. “Well, actually-” he started, reaching out as if to shake the man’s hand, but as the man returned his gesture, he shoved a knee where it hurts and grabbed the man, fingering the neck for the right point. “A-ha!” This time the man gave out a pathetic gasp, instead of the strangulated yelp, and crumpled on the ground. “Sorry about this, but I’m not meant to be here.” And with that plunged his black and scarlet knife through the man’s head. A small shadowy creature crept up on the man. “Feast away,” Byrne started to walk back into town, but then looked at the creature as carefully as he could with one eye. “What have I done? I’d better hurry up… Faith, where are you?”
Bao peered through the bushes. These strange creatures running around him were screaming, and black Shadows were following them. His size wouldn't be very noticable, the guards at the jail had starved him enough so he could hide easily. A Shadow creeped up behind her and he darted forward and slashed it with his claws "Are you alright?"
Faith looked up at Bao and felt a little bit dizzy. "Y-Yeah, thanks for asking," she said and looked at the Shadows retreating. "I just kinda blacked out, but thanks for asking again. It's nice especially at a time like this." Suddenly, about one hundred Shadows surrounded them. Faith jumped at the sight of them. "They just keep coming!" She held on to the metal rod tightly and closed her eyes.
"Faith, don't be afraid," said a voice in her head. "You have the power to do anything as the Enlightened Goddess. Now protect this dimension and destroy those creatures!" Faith opened her eyes and her eyes turned white. She suddenly blasted a beam of light in one direction of the Shadows against her will and many were destroyed. She put her hands to her eyes and rubbed her head. "What ... what happened there?"
"Interesting. I have heard about Holy magic in the prison, but never expected to see that." the Lupox said, Faith actually looked a little tired. "Well, pleased to meet you. My name is Bao."
"Likewise," panted Faith as she got up on her feet properly. "My name is Faith Crest." She saw the Shadows running up to the top of a hill that overlooked Alit Town. "I'm sorry for asking, but have you ever heard of the legend of the Enlightened Goddess? I was just wondering, that's all. Since something really weird is going on with me right now."
She lowered her head and sighed. In the meantime, a hooded figure watched from the hill in which the Shadows were gathering there. "So it's begun," he said to himself. "Yes, it has," said another hooded figure that had just appeared. "The Shadows are retreating. It's her, the girl is the goddess. She must be. How could she have scared the Shadows into submission?"
