The evening was cold with harsh winds. The floating mountains hung in the sky as Stella stood aboard the Saehl airship deck looking frantically for any sign of life. These floating mountains were green and luscious with trees and grass among the mountainsides. Such a place was beautiful and a sure thing to behold. The small airship piloted by the owner Stella had borrowed it from sailed to the left.

Cid, a small and stocky man who had agreed to work with Eureka Academy handle it’s flying transportations had agreed to let Stella use his smaller airship for the time being. “I think I see something up ahead!” Stella called back to Cid who grunted in reply.

A small hut on a hillside of a mountain could be seen nested amongst thick green trees. This had to be the place the late headmaster Krell had spoke of in his letters. The Saehl pulled off to the side of the mountain and Stella swung her legs off the airships small deck and jumped onto the land in front of this house. A gust of cold wind swept about as the airship had taken off to go back to Eureka Academy until further notice. The sun had begun to set into the skies in the distance and Stella knew that she would probably have to spend the night if this man couldn’t cooperate.

She walked up to the short first story cottage. It was made of wood and a small garden patch full of flowers resided under the houses front window which for now had drawn curtains. Stella knocked a few times and waited. A rustling could be heard from the inside. The door had swung open revealing a boy who looked as if he were about twelve. “Yes?” he spoke.

“I’m looking for Akabea Green?” Stella spoke. “I was wondering if he was here?”

“Who sent you?” The boy replied in a serious tone. “Come on in. I’ll put some tea on.”

Stella obeyed, for she was relieved to have found the home of Akabea. She didn’t know the man had a child and for one second thought if Krell had any children she didn’t know much about. The inside of the cottage was very tidy and quaint. Four cozy armchairs in front of a fireplace could be seen in the first room. The boy had gone of to a room to the right to make tea. Stella sat in one of the chairs. The fireplace wasn’t on, but it could have helped contrast the bitter cold wind outside. “So what brings a young girl like you all the way out here?” the boy asked.

“This letter.” Stella said placing an orange envelope onto one of the chair arms. “Thank you.”

Stella took the cup of tea offered to her and took a sip. It was green and it was less bitter than Stella remembered. The boy, after smiling in welcome took the envelope. Stella thought of the boy as being a bit adorable for a kid. He had a striking blue eye and black hair. He even wore an eye patch which she could only assume was the cost of training from his father Akabea. He was a bit handsome, and Stella for an instant thought that he would be perfect for her sister. The by ripped open the envelope at the very second Stella had become lost in her own thoughts.

She regained her senses just as the rip of the envelope and crinkle of the letter addressed to Akabea was opened. “W-wha?”

The boy slumped into an armchair and had begun to read, ignoring the girl’s surprised look. After what seemed like three minutes the boy looked up from reading. “So big bro went and got himself killed. My this is quite a problem.” He muttered.

At the moment it had only taken her a few minutes to realize that the boy was referring to Krell as a sibling. “Wait, are you Akabea?” She asked as politely as she could.

In her mind any sibling of the old professor Krell was much older, wiser, and stronger looking. Not what appeared to be a 13-15 year old boy. The boy glancing at her expression had caught on immediately to Stella’s thoughts. "Oh? I’m sorry, my appearance puts people off. You see I, like my brother, has had a run in with a cursed artifact myself. As for my age I am old enough to be your father, but appearance wise I’m bound to the body of a child. Amusing don’t you think?”

Stella smiled. Now things were explained properly, for this boy was the true Akabea Green. His looks were completely different from Stella’s own personal image. “As for the matter of this letter it seems as if I am now the new headmaster of Eureka Academy.” Akabea spoke in a more serious tone.

“Great! Now lets g-“

“But before I get started it looks as if we’ll have to clean up the mess my brother has put the world into.” He said continuing his thoughts.

“But sir, you can’t mean the portals?” Stella spoke in confusion. “There are so many of them. They won’t all disappear in a pinch.”

“Exactly what you kids are here for right?” the boy said.

Akabea smiled at the small hint of irony within his phrase. Stella knew more about the portals scattering the world since the clash with Diaga Academy, but she had never dealt with one herself. “Krell said he was attached to an item, bound by magic.” Stella recalled. “He hinted that these portals were something to do with the situation.”

“Yes girl. Both he and I, only his death has released the items hold over time, whatever it was.”

“So you have no idea what or where this item may be?”

“No…” Akabea spoke resting his chin on his palm. “But I have studied up on the recent portal activity.”

His blue eye glinted as he stared in all seriousness. Stella could feel through the boys stare that he was in fact a superior. “Yes but back to what you were saying. How are students getting rid of the portals?” Stella asked out of curiosity.

“I’ve been studying the nature of these portals and their activities/natures/locations.” Said Akabea sipping his tea.

“Yes. I heard they lead to different places in the world, even different dimensions…at least those are the rumors.” Stella said nervously as a howl of wind could be heard outside of the cottage.

“Yes many of those rumors are correct. But what I find strange about most of these portals is while most of them just transport the user to a different place, nearly 80% of them are opened by some dangerous creature that has either emerged from the portal into the other side or is being held open by some object of some kind.”

“Ah I see so you want us students of Eureka to close the portals by getting rid of the beasts or object keeping them open.”

“Exactly!” The boy spoke with a grin. “Now that I know that this responsibility rests upon my family it shall be me who has to search for and destroy this accursed item plaguing our world and many others.”

“This sounds like a great training system but the danger would have to amp up the protection, meaning teachers should accompany the students on missions.”

“Yes dear, what was your name again?”

“Oh it’s Stella, Phelda Stella Marx of the Marx family.” She said proudly to the boy in the armchair.

“Ah you’re Phelda from the well known Marx family.”Spoke Akabea. “It’s nice to meet you Stella. You may call me Headmaster Akabea.”

The Present
<Scene music>
6:00pm

Stella ran throughout her room. “Where the hell is the mission list?!” She yelled to herself while frantically searching under her bed.

For the past 3 days she had been helping the new headmaster plan the school activities. Here it was almost evening time and she couldn’t find the missions for the next day! Stella was sure this new headmaster would be furious if she had lost it. He had already proven to me much stricter than Krell on many occasions. Stella stood up thinking. “AHA! The Courtyard!” She said thinking of the possible place of which she could have placed the sheet after reviewing it.

She ran to her closet and jumped into the blue oval portal which resided in her closet space. In a flash she was in the empty cafeteria. “Oh goodness!” She said as she held her head.

The spin of the portal travel was something Stella would have to get used to in the days to come. Stella ran towards an Cafeteria exit onto the gardens of Eureka Academy’s courtyard and found the list of missions sitting just where she had pictured.

Right on a bench beside the fountain of water anchored by books. A slight breeze swept by as Stella went to go retrieve her list of missions for the week and the papers flew from the bench out around the side of the school. Stella ran for them as fast as she could through the courtyard. Her five pages of papers were tumbling along the ground as if they were running from her. She stretched her arms out to catch the pages one by one. She was not in front of the schools entrance but a good distance away to where the beach in front of Eureka Island used to be. She stopped once the fifth page blew off the edge of Eureka Island and out into the clouds below.

“AGH!” Stella grunted in frustration before pausing a moment on the edge of the island to a sound in the clouds off in the distance.

She perked her ears out at the sky and looked intently through the graying clouds in front of her. From them a giant ship hovering in the sky came, bursting into the spotlight for its entrance. “Ah! The ship’s here already! And it’s almost dinner time.” Stella said waving to the students standing on the deck of the airship waiting to board the island.

Once Stella had seen the smiling returning faces and some new faces she smiled knowing that this would be one exciting semester. “Hiya!” She said waving as the ship came flying towards the island.

Many students could be seen standing, all of them with luggage. Stella focused the rock within the ground. The students would need a platform to exit the ship safely and the new flying island had no docks yet. Stretching her left arm Stella pushed the rock from the island itself into a staircase platform stretching outwards toward the side of the docking ship. The students could step on this and walk their luggage out onto the island. She hardened the soft rock and earth which she had formed with a clench of her fist controlling the energy. It was amazing what she could do with her powers now compared to her past at Eureka Academy, for the school really does build strong warriors.

The clouds in the distance were parting as the sun had set to reveal a giant rainbow. Stella's eyes were greeted with an array of colors shining behind the ship full of new students. She could already see that they were having good luck. Stella clutched the papers in her right hand and happily watching the students arrive to Eureka island, their home for the next few months.

(OOC: Ah, fuck it. Not my original post that I have back at home, but I'm bored and I felt like writing. So, this is going to have to do. :ryan:)

Raistlin Majere

"Not enough, I see." Raistlin said as he looked at the corpses that were on the ground. "It appears I'm going to need to spawn a few more." For the last six months, Raistlin had been doing almost nothing but practicing and training his magic abilities. He had finished his Allod project, a project that had went flawlessly well. His other projects were his summoning project, a project that he had instantly halted once he summoned Panzer, a beautiful white dragon that he summoned from another realm. In the last six months, everything had been going smoothly.

Which is why he was training so hard. With no classes, and far too much time on his hands he had been summoning smaller monsters to fight in waves. He would then hold the waves off as they tried to storm his tower. With all of this being in the Allod, no one knew of it. In just six months time, Raistlin knew that without a doubt his powers had increased.

Still, it was never enough with Raistlin. He always needed more, always wanted more. Which is what led him to the plan that he had going. The soul stone he wore around his neck was the key to that plan. At times, he often found himself thinking about it and laughing just a bit. If everything went according to plan, he would have all the power he would ever need.

Still, there was a chance it would fail. Though, the only way that would happen is if people found out about it. It was something Raistlin would never understand. Why did people tend to freak out when someone was after power? It was as if they automatically assumed that they would use that power for evil. Though, Raistlin was always quick to remind himself that power did indeed corrupt. However, Raistlin didn't believe himself to be one of those weak-minded fools that got drunk off their own power and started abusing it.

With logic on his side, and a strong will, Raistlin was 100% sure he could handle it all with ease.

"Summon: One Troll." Raistlin said, speaking to his Allod. Then, clear as day, one spawned in the distance. With a defiant roar, the Troll charged forward, his club in hand. Raistlin charged, he wanted to handle this one up close and personal. As he neared, the Troll let out a huge vertical strike that Raistlin then dodged. Using wind, he propelled himself further than the average man would go. He was now at the Troll's side.

The Troll started to turn, but not before Raistlin let out a volley of lightning from his fingertips. Roaring in pain, the Troll then swung his club in a giant horizontal arc. Once again using his wind magic, Raistlin jumped into the air, and landed on the Troll's head. It was at that point that Raistlin knew it was over.

Firing lightning downwards at the Troll's head, the Troll let out a groan and started to fall. Leaping off of his head, Raistlin smiled. "All too easy. Panzer, let us go."

With a roar, Panzer took off and landed next to Raistlin. "Let us give the newcomers a welcome show." With a wave of his arm, he ripped open a portal out of his Allod that would lead him above the courtyard of the school. He then climbed upon the back of Panzer and without saying a word to him, Panzer took off directly towards the portal. No one had seen Panzer yet, Raistlin wondered what they would think.

Panzer soared through the portal and out of the other side like a hot knife through butter, roaring loudly over the courtyard, and flying around the campus. "Panzer, just be sure not to go two miles away from the school. You would not want me gone, would you?"

Raistlin was very much so looking forward to the new semester.

Alyss Mithrandir

Alyss was overly excited as she stepped off of the airship. She had never been on one before, and she had to admit that she rather enjoyed it. It was so nice to finally be out of the house. She had been there all her life, and now here she was, at one of the finest academies in the world! To make things even better, she wouldn't even have to hide her ears.

She noticed that a few students looked at her odd, but that was probably due to the fact that they had never seen an Elf before. Alyss didn't mind, not at all. She was too happy, and too excited to be taken back by anything. As she stepped off the airship, she looked out over the academy. It was... massive. She had never seen anything like it in her life. With her eyes full of wonder, and full of joy, she continued her walk off the airship.

Suddenly, she heard a voice explode over the school grounds:

ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS: WELCOME TO ANOTHER SEMESTER AT EUREKA ACADEMY. YOU ALL HAVE TIME TO PACK. DINNER BEGINS AT 8:00PM SHARP AND WILL END AT 10:00. PLEASE GET SETTLED INTO YOUR DORMS. THIS IS BY ORDER OF YOUR NEW HEADMASTER. PLEASE ENJOY THE REST OF YOUR DAY.

"Oh, I had better find the... Red Sect dorms," Alyss said. She couldn't get over how excited she was. With her suitcase rolling along behind her, she started walking towards the courtyard. As she was looking around, she heard what sounded like some large bang, and noticed a large portal open from the direction of the courtyard. Without any warning, a large white dragon flew out of it. It looked as if someone was riding it.

Things were already exciting. If someone had told her a few weeks ago that she would be at Eureka Academy, located on a flying island, watching a dragon fly out of a portal, she would have never believed it. At this point, Alyss started running towards her dorm. After a few minutes, she made it. The Red Sect dorms, they weren't as big as she thought, but she didn't care in the slightest.

She went inside, and started looking at the names on the doors. They were aligned parallel down a long hallway. Looking at the names, she continued walking down the halls. Unfortunately, her name wasn't on any of the ones on the first floor. Maybe it was up higher?

She took the stairs to the top floor, after all, that was what she requested. Maybe it went through? As she made it too the top, she instantly saw her name on the door leading towards the stairs. She opened it and saw a small, yet cozy room. There was a table, a bed, a small fridge, a closet, and a restroom. All the comforts of home in one place. This was amazing! She set her suitcase down, and grabbed her key from counter. After locking everything up, she ran back down the stairs.

Without a care in the world, she ran past the Red Sect dorms and towards the library. She heard stories of the library, and always wanted to see it. Once she arrived, she opened the door, and saw row, after row, after row, of books.

"T-This is beautiful", she said out loud. Alyss continued walking, ready to get lost in this maze of books, all on her first day.

OOC: I was gonna wait, but screw it, I'm going to post.

Elaine Chevalier

Elaine had been back at Eureka shortly after Stella, and whilst not helping her keep track of everything before the students arrived, she would meditate in the courtyard, out of sight from just about everyone. The students would be coming in soon to unpack and unwind for the next few months and she was sure everything was set to begin soon.

With a new Headmaster, a new StuCo member replacing Orion, and a new Disiplinary Committee member replacing the now new StuCo member, things were certain to get a bit shaken up within the hierarchy, but Krell would not have had it any other way. Still, Elaine was not one to want to be on his bad side, since Headmaster Akabea was a bit more strict than Headmaster Krell, but nonetheless everything would be as normal as it could be.

Opening her eyes, Elaine rolled on her back and lifted her entire body in one arm like a pull up, her hand sinking into the earth as if it were quicksand, an act of balancing her body as well as her mind for the times ahead. Her power and control over the earth has improved considerably since the last time she was here, and even though she had always avoided using her powers unless it was to kill monsters, Elaine could always rely on her Geokinetic abilities to go places people would probably not be able to go to.

Putting full focus on her hand, Elaine felt the dirt underneath her harden to form a rock underneath her, the rock then shot up from underneath the ground, launching Elaine up into the air. She twirled herself in the air and landed in the center of the courtyard, where Stella was looking out to see the airship carrying new students.

The red-headed StuCo member walked up to her old friend. "I see you have everything under control here Stella." Elaine said with a smile, looking out for the new students with her.

----
Nicolo Zorzi:

Nicolo stepped off the airship and looked up to the Academy. Everything about this place was more than meets the eye. The forests and the buildings were good places to climb around and explore, and he wanted to do just that...

...just as soon as he gets his luggage over to the Blue Sect Dorms. But what made him smile about the trip was the fact that there were a few new girls with him, a perfect opportunity to flirt with some of them.

"Ah, I'm going to like this school already."
Nicolo said as he made the long walk up to the Blue Sect Dorms, a trek that is bound to take a hour or so to fulfill. As soon as he made it to the courtyard, Nicolo heard an announcement over the intercom.

Nicolo looked up as he heard the message. He checked his watch, and found that it was still early. "I got time, best get to my room, unpack a bit and get some la cena. (dinner)"

The young man found his way into the Blue-sect dorms and began looking for his name, since that is where he would be residing for the next few months.

Escaflowne

While her fellow StuCo members bustled about with a purpose, Vice President Escaflowne lounged on the roof of the StuCo dorm. Gazing lazily into the night sky, Escaflowne basked in the soothing calm that washed over her. Her peace was only broken by the thrum of the airship's engine and with a disappointed sigh, Escaflowne sprung to her feet and nonchalantly strolled to the edge before stepping right off. Luckily, there was no one on the island as of yet. Otherwise, people would have gotten a nice view of her panties as her skirt fluttered while she dropped. Just meters from the ground, a spatial portal opened and the Vice President disappeared......

..... and popped out right into the courtyard next to Eliane and Stella.

Ello'. How are you guys... Man im still a bit sore from the roof.... I mean... i was absolutely not sleeping just then

Escaflowne tugged at her skirt and her blazer, making sure she is absolutely presentable and relaxing her face, she put on her serious and intimidating look.

Hehe... gotta make a good first impression t the newbies.

With Touhou in her belt, Escaflowne oversaw the students flooding into Eureka Academy

Delijah

Delijah stood proudly at the gangplank of the ship. She had her usual all-business face on, her brows knitted together. Normally, people would think this as cute and adorable, but the two large pole arms that she held in each hand spoke otherwise. The Red and Black Sect knew enough to not antagonise her, as did some of the older Blue Sect, but there were always the new people.

Alright students. Disembark in an orderly manner. Do not rush!

As the initial stampede died down, Delijah disembarked herself. She needed to toss her luggage as soon as possible, less there be the risk of people finding what was inside. Her favourite doll, her taste in pajamas, own personal pillow and the like were just a few of such high risk items.
Almost deja-vu like, the small girl waddling with her luggages and her weapon cleaved a path easily through the hustle and bustle, straight to her dorm door. Nothing has changed much besides Raistlin getting a nice promotion. Blade's disappearance left the DisCo unfazed as replacements bolstered the ranks almost immediately. Quickly, Delijah tossed her stuff into the wardrobes and took off her travel cloak, replacing it with her DisCo jacket.

Time to scour out the new students and my colleagues...

Delijah exited her room and made her way back towards the courtyard where all the activity was at.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Maya
Maya had it rough. She was lugging around instruments the equivalent to a band. Nine guitars in total, plus amp, maintenance gear, stands and her luggage. In actual fact, the only way she managed to get most of the stuff off the airship, which she thought was breathtaking, was by some generous fellow blue sect members that took pity on her. However, once it was on Eureka ground, she was on her own once more. By her third trip, she was bushed.
Nrgh..... it'd be great if it was like in those manga where i can just summon them rather than carrying them all around.
The announcement that blared all over the campus meant that dinner was soon. She missed Eluniel and hoped she was around this semester, but she had to worry about that later. Finally, it all down to her last guitar, her darling Lucille. Catching a fiver, Maya rested her beaten body resting her guitar on her lap and clipping her mini amp to her waist. The night air was cool on her cheeks. Up this high, Maya was astounded. From her memory, one minute, she was trying to shut out the noise and the next when she went out, the school was flying, almost like "Castle in the Sky". She knew that Eureka Academy was not like the public schools in Japan, but she was sure impressed by the technology that it used.
.... i mean....magic isnt real.....
Maya sat there musing on how great a flying school would make as a story when she returned to Japan. She'd head to dinner after resting a bit more.
6:00 in the evening seemed like the perfect time to arrive at the Academy. The sun was setting, but the current weather was tolerable, seeing as the sun's rays weren't as strong as they were when the day had started; but that was the last thing that Estrella was thinking about right now. As everyone including herself had begun leaving from the airship, the golden eyed woman looked at her surroundings. Eureka was much more massive than the pictures in pamphlets and the news had portrayed it to be back at home, not only that, but she was going to be living in a school that was hundreds of feet in the air. Whoever had the power to make it levitate had earned her gratitude. Estrella adjusted her black dress a little bit as she could easily hear the excitement out of the other students ears.
"I can't believe it, this school is huge!"
"...Couldn't tolerate him last year, now I hear they have to share dorms again."
"Do you think she'll be here this semester like she said she would!?"
All sorts of conversations were going on around her. Some were even at whisper level, yet she could clearly make out the words that were spoken out of many mouths. By the time she reached the end of the stairs, she had turned around and saw that there were still people exiting the airship. She could take a guess that this school had more students than any school or academy that she's been to altogether, and that there would be plenty of people that would be unique in their own way - so she wouldn't have to worry at all about being the different kind of girl. Suddenly, she could hear the slight crackle of the intercom as a voice began to sound.
ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS: WELCOME TO ANOTHER SEMESTER AT EUREKA ACADEMY. YOU ALL HAVE TIME TO PACK. DINNER BEGINS AT 8:00pm SHARP AND WILL END AT 10:00. PLEASE GET SETTLED INTO YOUR DORMS. THIS IS BY ORDER OF YOUR NEW HEADMASTER. PLEASE ENJOY THE REST OF YOUR DAY.
The voice had probably gone through her ears louder than everyone else', but nonetheless the volume was tolerable. But she wondered if she made out the headmaster's voice correctly, as he sounded. . . a little young. But she wasn't one to judge, as she hasn't even seen him yet; but she was honored to have received an invitation from him several months ago. It must have been dreadful for the school to have lost many students from last semester's attack from Diaga - even though she wasn't around to witness it, it had been all over the news in the places that she had traveled, and her original home had too been a site where many people's lives were lost because of an attack years ago. But this was her new home for the time being, and she couldn't have been more thrilled to stay here.
She continued to bring along her big purple roller luggage as she strode near the courtyard, and was alarmed to see a portal open out of nowhere near the center. Coming out of the portal was a large white dragon, which made gusts pass by her as it flew overhead the campus. Estrella watched in awe as she held a hand on the side of her head to keep her hair from flying everywhere. She couldn't make out who the rider was directly, but only noticed that long white hair, similar to her own, had flown back behind the person. That dragon is huge. . .she thought to herself. Her amazement had suddenly been interrupted when she could hear the shrieks of a female and a male student several feet to her side. Estrella glanced over to see that the two were wrestling over something, something in a large orange bag, but it looked like it belonged to the girl; and she wasn't about to give it up. Regardless, the male student was invading more of her space than she looked comfortable with, and there had already been some passing by students watching the commotion.
Not entirely sure who the other Disciplinary Committee members were, she would have to handle the situation herself. She let go her bag for a moment and swiftly began to walk towards the two, feeling the glances of some students as she approached them.
"Hey- hey, break it up, you two. Right now!" She shouted at them. The girl looked like she wanted to, but the fact the boy was constantly reaching for her bag forced her to keep moving.
"Quit it!" She had shouted at the male.
"Just let me look at it!" He replied back. He was wearing a blue blazer - which meant he was in the blue sect. Something told Estrella that words weren't going to make him stop. Instantly, she had reached down and managed to get a good hold on the student before pulling him off. He had tried fighting her off for a second, but he had went still when the silverette's hands began to tighten in grip.
"Shhh. . ." She had said quietly. The kid had looked puzzled, but the expression had faded and turned into drowsiness. "Just relax." Estrella said. She repeated the phrase about two more times until she could feel his figure weakening in her grasp, and eventually he had sunk onto the ground without a sign of consciousness. Some students had stared wide eyed at him and then glanced back at her as she got up from her knees. Comatose was the right ability to use in the situation. "It's alright, he's just asleep." She said to them all. Some laughed at the kid's condition while others just watched blankly as they began to go back on their way. Estrella then offered a hand to the girl that had the orange bag to herself now, and pulled her up.
"Umm, thank you, teacher." She said lowly. The statement had puzzled Estrella though.
"Teacher?" She repeated, and couldn't help but laugh. "I'm part of DisCom, sweetheart. But you are welcome." She walked back over to where her luggage had sat, and then began pulling it along with her again as she passed by the girl. "And if you need an issue resolved out, don't hesitate to come to us about it. And don't worry about him," She pointed out the unconscious Blue Sect student. "He'll wake up soon enough."
She gave a side smile before walking away, not questioning whatever was in the girl's bag. She did admit, she was slightly older than most of the students here, but she and all of them were still people, so age was irrelevant to her. The atmosphere felt great, so she didn't feel like taking a portal or a shortcut to the Black Sect dorms, and it wouldn't be that long of a walk anyway. Within a minutes, she was in the Black Sect, and she scanned through the hall for the door with her name on it. Eventually, she had found it, and opened the door to find her room. She had left the door open behind her and gasped in awe as she walked into the large room, finding a queen sized bed, a miniature fridge, and a large closet for most of her outfits to go in. The bathroom connected to her room looked big enough, and she walked in to check herself for a moment. She was surprised to see her black blazer placed neatly on a coat hanger behind her in her reflection. The trip hadn't done much to her image at all. She lifted her hand to brush off a loose strand hair that was in her face, and noticed the phrase that she had inked into her wrist. Nocte it read; and it stood for Night. That would be who Estrella would also represent during her stay in the academy.
Feeling that her appearance was fine for now, she had brought her luggage next to her bed, and exited her room before heading back out towards the courtyard. There was still a lot more she wanted to explore of the school before dinner time struck, and as well as meet the other DisCom members; along with whoever else that she was interested in.
Joey grabbed his bag, then walked off the airship. When he got off, he looked around to get used to his surroundings, since this was gonna be his home for a while. As he walked, he couldn't help but think about what happened. He knew that he was alone, but he still kept his phone, just in case one of his friends wanted to contact him. There were only a few entries in his phonebook, and he figured they would be busy, so he put the phone back in his pocket.
He looked around, and vaguely remembered where the Blue Sect dorms were, so he started to head there. As he walked, he heard some interesting conversations, but it was loud, and combined with all of the talking, he couldn't make out most of what was said. Suddenly, he heard the speakers crackle, then an announcement was heard.
ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS: WELCOME TO ANOTHER SEMESTER AT EUREKA ACADEMY. YOU ALL HAVE TIME TO PACK. DINNER BEGINS AT 8:00pm SHARP AND WILL END AT 10:00. PLEASE GET SETTLED INTO YOUR DORMS. THIS IS BY ORDER OF YOUR NEW HEADMASTER. PLEASE ENJOY THE REST OF YOUR DAY.
Pulling out his phone, he saw that he had around an hour before dinner started, so he knew he could still take his time. He proceeded up the stairs, glancing at his phone and watching the signal drain away from it.
"Well, looks like I won't be getting signal in this area. Oh well, if I can get signal at all while I'm here, I'll be happy."
He finally found the Blue Sect dorms, and went inside. He picked an empty room and threw his bag next to one of the beds, then proceeded to flop down on the bed. He wanted to relax, but he knew he had to get to dinner, or he would be starving later, and he always hated that. Sitting up on the bed, he debated on waiting outside for someone to go with, or heading to the cafeteria by himself.
Story Yuta: ShapeShifter.
For the entire ride, he was alone, not because people didn’t like him, but because he wanted to be.
Story watched the sunset from the back of the airship leaning his elbows on the railing and his face in his hands. The sunset was beautiful; orange, red and a bit of purple. He sighed. Just a month ago he was going off on assignments with his father, learning to be a great spy... but he’d failed so many times his father had given up hope and had used his contacts to send him to this dump...this stupid filthy school. Story scoffed to himself.
It was about 6:00pm now and as he turned his head, scanning their location with his amber eyes he noticed the ship had already made it to the Floating Island where Eureka Academy was located... ok... he had to admit, it was rather stunning. But he would never share those feelings with anyone.
The ship docked at the island and some black haired girl had created a platform out of the earth... that was pretty impressive and it made Story a little jealous. She could control her powers so well and he couldn’t handle his at all. Story was a ShapeShifter from one of the only few total ShapeShifting families in existence. This made him quite a rare being... well it would of, if he could actually master his unique powers.
Finally the students were allowed off but the silver haired male decided to linger back a while, waiting for everyone to leave so he didn’t have to make any stupid meaningless conversation with people he didn’t know but the bit he was least looking forward to was sharing a dorm room with others. Why couldn’t he have his own room? By the looks of things the school could probably afford to have a few more rooms built...
He waited back until most of the students had left the airship, then pulling his hood over his head to avoid eye contact with others and hopefully avoid unnecessary conversations he grabbed his backpack and luggage bags and headed off the ship. People were still crowded around the entrance of the school which made Story groan quietly to himself. He just had to find his dorm room, dump his luggage and find an area where there was no one else to bother him. Then suddenly, booming through the loud speakers located all over the school he heard:
“ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS: WELCOME TO ANOTHER SEMESTER AT EUREKA ACADEMY. YOU ALL HAVE TIME TO PACK. DINNER BEGINS AT 8:00PM SHARP AND WILL END AT 10:00PM. PLEASE GET SETTLED INTO YOUR DORMS. THIS IS BY ORDER OF YOUR NEW HEADMASTER. PLEASE ENJOY THE REST OF YOUR DAY.”
That must be their new principle...he sounded a bit young, Story thought to himself but was interrupted when he noticed out the corner of his eye a silvery white dragon explode from nothing into the sky above them. Riding it was a male with hair as white as his dragon. “Show off...” he muttered as he glared up at the guy in the sky, his hood falling off a little but he caught it and pulled it back over his head.
There were many interesting beings here at this school and almost all of them seemed to be more powerful than he was...this thought just made Story angrier than he was ten minutes ago.
He finally made it out of the crowd without having to talk to anyone and followed some signage to the blue sect dorms. There were a lot of rooms he’d have to search down to find his own. Each of them with student names next to the doors to make it easier... thank goodness or he’d be there all day.
Many students had already found their rooms and were already unpacking, they all looked so happy. Some were even in their new uniforms already... ugh, uniforms. Story was not happy about that...
As he moved down the hallway reading the names on the doors, it was apparent Story was not on this floor so he climbed the stairs onto the second storey Finding his room, the very first room on the right of the staircase. This was it... this was his home for the next few months.
(OOC) I decided to add my ID to the end of my post so its easier for people to remember which character I am (I often find it hard to remember characters) if this isnt' needed, let me know :)
[James]
A large rip appeared in space in front of the students getting off the airship. It opened like an eye to reveal a pitch-black expanse of nothing. From that nothign though a single figure walked through, a scythe in hand. Stepping out from the rip, he surveyed the ship and the students. Raising his hand, he snapped and behind him the rip closed and the line that was left behind disappeared.
"Oh come on!" he said loudly. "Every bloody year. I can never get here at the right time."
"At least this time there are still students to greet unlike THAT year," he said quietly with a gentle facepalm.
James quickly spun his scythe and in a shower of black light, it seemingly shattered; around his neck appeared a pendant with a crest on it under it a pair of crossed scythes.
"Now then what do we have here..." he said crossing his arms loosely.
"Such prospective students. I do hope you'll all be coming out to the library. Part of learning is doing it on your own," he murmured.
Overhead, Raistlin's dragon roared again.
"So flashy with your dragon..." he said, yawning. "I could do that too but... I just don't want to."
One of the students in a blue blazer came up to him, wide-eyed having obviously seen James' entrance.
"What do you teach here?"
"Heh. I don't teach. I'm just the head librarian. Though I do tutor students in magic if they ask. Or we sit around and drink tea. I'm not the stuffy, uptight kind of librarian. I don't even have a severe pair of glasses to glare at you over."
He chuckled at his joke making the student chuckle as well.
"Just come look for me if you want some help alright? Just ask for James."
"Alright. Thanks, James!" the student called out as he walked off with his bags to the dorms.
"Such promising students," he murmured.
[Gavin]
The young man alit close to the edge of the floating island, his raven wings gently flapping as he landed. In his hands were several bags, that seemed to be no strain to him at all. Standing several feet fromt he edge, the perfect wings burst into a streams of darkness that streaked back to the earth below, back to where the shadows had originally come from.
He had timed it rather well; the airship with the students had already come and they were already heading to their dorms. His bags in hand, the angel made his way across campus.
Returning students stole covert glances at him and the new ones couldn't stop staring at the unearthly beauty that walked among them. His crimson eyes settled on the necks of each one, male and female, and every so subtlely, his tongue slipped out and he licked his lips, sunlight reflecting slightly off pearly fangs.
This was as close to normal as it got. The stares. The attention. At least he was back at the school. At least she was dead. He could walk in the sunlight now, just like a normal student. And here, he was normal. Just another special person mixed with other just like him. Not exactly but...somewhat.
His long coat made no sound as he walked and the students seemed to make a path for him as he stalked through them. He was going straight for the black sect dorms; hopefully his old room was still there.
Going through the door, he found a lack of attention here. There was hardly anyone here, same as it had been. Trudging up the stairs, he found his room. "Gavin" the plaque said beside the door. Dropping the bags in one hand and fishing a key out from one of his pockets, he opened the door and laid his stuff inside, not even bothering to turn on the lights.
Shutting the door and locking it, he pocketed the key once again and went back down the stairs with his hands in his pockets. This time he was headed for the headmaster's office. Down below, he had heard of Diaga's attack and their failure. Of Krell's disappearance and his brother takign over, some Akabea Green.
Still, Akabea should... no, would acknowledge Krell's words. Especially when they were signed.
Makign his way to the headmaster's office he rounded a corner to run straight into a young girl. Though he didn't move at all, she ended up falling flat on her arse.
"So sorry," she said, quickly getting up and dusting herself off. "Wasn't looking where I..."
She stopped as she looked into his eyes. There was a momentary blink of his eyes before they traveled down, urged by a primal force down to her neck. The corner of his lip curled slightly and his tongue peeked through. His eyes seemed to flash and the pitch-black pupils slitted.
"I-I-I..." the girl stammered, paralyzed by his mesmeric eyes thought he sheer terror made her want to flee; the poor girl was only a blue sect without any idea of what the world truely held.
A single pale hand came out of its pocket and reached for her as his mouth opened just a touch more, revealing his fangs. His hand touched her shoulder and it felt like there was nothing there.
Then she was spun around by the very hand and shoved forward.
"Go!" came the rasping melody.
She ran.
Behind her, the sound of stone being demolished echoed as he slammed a fist into the wall. Removing it, no mark marred his skin though there was now an imprint of his fist in the wall, without a single crack spreading from it.
Let it go... You have to let it go...
Eventually, he came back to himself.
That's why I can't have anyone near me.
Slowly, he began to walk in the direction of the headmaster's office again. Reaching the door, he pulled out a scroll of paper from his coat, Krell's seal adorning it. Going in and showing it to the secretary, he was allowed in to the headmaster's office.
Akabea was... a boy? Maybe 12? This was Krell's brother? Unlikely he was actually 12 but what made him unable to age? It didn't matter though.
He laid the scroll before the headmaster, Krell's seal facing Akabea.
"I would hope that you will honour your brother's promise."
[Mishra]
Somewhere near the edge of the island Mishra sat, a small launcher next to him. In his hand was a notebook with a pencil sitting in it. Reaching over, he set a phial in the launcher and pulled it, sending the phial flying into the air.
"One...Two...Three...Four...five...." he counted out under his breath.
In the distance there was a fiery explosion.
"Five seconds for a reaction for 15g and 35g. Looks like it goes down by a second for each 2g and 5g respectively. Hmm... I wonder if it plateaus..."
Writing down his observations he quickly glanced at the sky. It was getting late. The students would be arriving soon. If they hadn't already. Shit. Was he supposed to go greet them?
...Whatever.
Clapping his book shut, he stuck it in his trenchcoat and pulled a tarp over the launcher to keep the elements off it. He began to float back towards the school, slightly annoyed that he had to stop but more pleased by the new guinea pi- er... students arriving soon.
Last semester's had been interesting. And with Diaga attacking, he had had fun. Raistlin had been rather interesting. The cheshire catboy hadn't seen much of the mage lately. And here he thought they had been getting along smashingly.
Well, with this year starting that was gonna happen. Especially seeing as how Raistlin was pretty beat up from what had happened. Poor guy. And here was Mishra, one of the few that might actually understand him.
He chuckled. That mage was interesting. Very interesting. Highly interesting. In more than one way...
Nova had always had this romantic image of bikes and bikers, classical case of wind in your hair, no limits, no restraints, life on the open road. All that romantic jazz adout riding off into the sunset, but she also knew just how stupidly dangerous those things were… And it wasn’t that she had gotten tired of the Viper, far from in point of fact, but when ATMA had told her someone had come up with a tecknological suit that would keep her in one piece when she “wiped out”, as it had been known back when she was a teen, was that really this close to a decade ago now?
She had a job, a full time 9-5 grind. Maybe not for the reason most people got them, but still… And it wasn’t like she really minded her job, but when had she become old?
Putting down her glass of ice cold coke she signed the waiter for her check and once more noticed where she was. The road between Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai 400+ miles of tarmac crossing mountains slashing through dense primeval jungle –even if it didn’t look like the images from TV- and some of the most stunning vista’s anywhere on this planet…
At times Nova like these realized… My job RULES! Finishing her coke she put her helmet back on and got back on her bike. The Fireblade was officially called a Honda CBR1000RR, and her normal habit of buying American was not really an option in this particular market, not without going for a y2k, and that was slightly excessive for your first bike, not to mention that the thing was hideous…
Giving the engine a bootful and revving the straight four, she kicked her kickstand out of the way and blasted off into the sunset leaving a thick black line behind her and the smell of burned rubber and clutch shoes. She was up to sixty before she was off the parking lot and doing a hundred by the time she put her knee almost to the floor for the first corner and blasted through the corner. She was taking the long road home, which only had like 1400 corners as opposed to the longer road she had taken up to Chiang Rai yesterday. Working the helmet controls she got the song she wanted, Celldweller’s Switchback was an awesome song for this sort of thing. 5 or 6 corners later she noticed that there was rather little traffic to keep this truly interesting, just as a big lorry came around the corner forcing her to swerve out of its way to a loud string of curses in Thai and a long blast of the horn. Blasting down the mountains and under the trees which had been old before her mother and father had been born was a strangely soothing and exhilarating combination, not unlike the breathing exercises she used to force her body to calm before taking the shot, butterflies of danger with an overlay of quiet and calm confidence. Secure in the knowledge that her tools were the best money could buy and that she was competent in their use.
Or in this case knowledge that if she hit a car right (or wrong depending on your point of view) no matter what laws of physics her suit and helmet could bend Newton and Einstein would still send her to the ICU at worst and to the morgue at best but that her bike had some brand new very grippy tires made of sticky rubber and with deep grooves to deal with any water and other slippery substances that might be present on the road. She was going to be fine, assuming she didn’t get over confident and do something stupid, she thought just as she was forced to swerve back behind a car she had been over taking when an unexpected car came from around a blind corner.
“So nothing like that” she said to her helmet and herself.
A few hours later she was in Chiang mai just as her rear tire was beginning to give way, those sticky rubber compounds might be great for traction, they don’t last long. But then no normal tire would keep up for long with the way Nova had been hammering on her tire. Hard breaking for corners, followed by furious acceleration between corners. Breaks would probably be shot too, they were feeling a bit less crisp then when she had started… She knew she had seen smoke coming off the calipers during that last deceleration…
Turning into the center of she found and drove down the Chian Klang road past the Shan-Ri La hotel where she would have been staying had she been in town for longer than just tonight before parking her bike in front of Giorgio’s Quite possibly THE best Italian restaurant on this side of the planet (OOC: Just take my word for it, that place is good even by “Italian food in Italy” standards… Cheap too…)
Before she kicked her kickstand down and pulled her helmet off, shaking her lustrous crimson hair loosely around her shoulders, and stretching some of the creaks out of her spine and other bones. Stepping through the door she suddenly found herself in the holodeck of her ship the ATMA. What exactly the name stood for Nova had never been able to get the AI to tell her, but she did know it was some acronym. Well not enough time to figure that out now…
“Love the new mods, breaks became a little loose towards the end there though…” Nova said to no one in particular, knowing the AI would hear…
“Well you can’t blame me for that you were the one driving like an absolute loon… you should know better than to drive that fast on roads like that without pausing to let the breaks cool… If you must know the pads were shot 50 miles before the edge of town and the disks were warped out of true a good 100 miles before that… It really is a miracle you didn’t crash, but the reason I yanked you out of sim wasn’t that, it was to remind you that your classes restart tomorrow and we still need to sort out a lot of stuff. Starting with having you moved into your house on campus, and discuss a few other things. Ooh and the NWO sent over your retainer for the next school year. Apparently they felt your talents warranted keeping you paid upfront rather than having something like that unfortunate incident last year happen again… I mean this is supposed to be a grooming area for them…”
“Mute, I’m going to take a shower, DO NOT PEAK IN” Nova said as she reached up and unzipped her black and white leathers
At which point a screen on the wall blinked into life with the text “But who else is going to make sure you’re OK? And besides if you want me to help you wash your back I need to be able to watch…” scrolling down it.
“Okay that it, Bob the skull is a bad influence on you… And no I will be quite alright washing my own back thank you” Nova said as the message scrolled to that side of the window. Stepping over the bridge where everything seemed to be running like clockwork, not surprising, ATMA might be annoying at times but he was very good at his job. And it would take something up there with global warfare to get him flustered. Passing the galley, it just occurred to her that she didn’t think she had ever even used that room, she walked into the “captains quarters” which bore a striking resemblance to the rooms of Picard aboard the Enterprise-E. She found a cup of steaming ristretto on her desk which she picked up and walked into “the head” where a steaming bath was drawn…
Now normally this wouldn’t have surprised her, she and ATMA were so used to each other that this sort of thing was a common enough occurrence. Except that this morning the room hadn’t HAD a bath… Let alone one with air jets turning it into a hot tub…
“Unmute, What did we say about major remodeling without asking me first?” Nova asked with the same exasperated tone most women use for unruly children.
“I wasn’t supposed to do it,” Atma’s disembodied voice provided in a tone of a kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar… “but don’t you see how this is a major exception?? My job is to make your life easier and more comfortable, and this is doing just that! I know you love these things and I had some spare cycles to design it and fab it up… Go on try it…
As he said this Nova stripped her leathers of, and slipped into the bath with barely a ripple. Old habits might be hard to break, field craft is impossible to break if you get taught well… And Atma was right this was a major exception, all the jets in just the right place to do a sort of water pressure point massage. Nova felt a little shudder run up and down her spine as she relaxed into the warm water.
“Okay, just don’t do it again.” Nova said lazily as she slid back a bit further and inhaled the clean hot water. Just as on the other side of the tub a few pellets dropped into the water dissolving into a shimmer of oils that clung to her exposed skin and hair. Scents of Aloe and eucalyptus reached her. She had never been big on aroma therapy but she had to admit this was something she could definitely get used to…
When she woke up again the water was still warm but the oils had dried up in her hair leaving a bit of dried up gunk. The bath salts had done their job admirably and pruning was kept minimal. Stepping out of the bath she walked up to the window where she could look out and enjoy the scenery while she was dried by a combination of hot air, ultrasonic sound and something called a “surface tension modulator” which basically bent physics and convinced water it had no significant interaction with the world around it causing it to run off her in little streams, choosing the path of least resistance over her curves, which she was proud to notice showed no signs of sagging and otherwise becoming less then -according to a string of ex-boyfriends-perfect, running between her D cups, taking a left at her solar plexus met up with another tiny stream passed around the top of her transverses abdominus before running down along her fit Rectus Abdominis over to the tip of her wide hips where half took a decisive right hand turn and vanished from the view of the mirrored glass and the other half, still a sizeable stream considering the amount of water we were dealing with, streamed down the outside of her long legs, hugging the area’s between the various muscles and tendons before streaming off the foot between her toes.
Being dried in this way never stopped feeling, well, weird, even after a few years. The way water is supposed to behave is so familiar that every deviation from it is very odd. Dressing quickly, she once more noticed that her standard sized closet was bigger on the inside than the one from the C.S. Lewis book… She really needed to figure out how ATMA had done that, not that she was complaining or anything…
“Atma, do we need to sort anything out? Or are we set for the school year?”
“I think we’re good boss, the NWO has had your paperwork vetted last year and we all know how good they are at cover identities… Of course it helps when you can just get a real passport for a fake id…” Atma continued as Nova quickly dressed in a tank top and jeans. “But I think we’re set, barring moving your stuff into your room. But I can handle that easily enough, I have already filed a flight plan for your helicopter ride to the island… So I think we should be good to go. Other then that I think you’re good to go… Well barring a lesson plan of course, I assume you have thought of something for this year? Or were you planning on going in and winging it again… ‘Cause that had less than ideal results…”
“Yeah Yeah I’ve got my first lesson all planned out after that I’ll see what happens…” Nova said as she walked over and looked out the window of the ATMA and down on the oceans and clouds of the planet so far below. This too was one of those moments where her job was just Awesome… No other word for it… “Well might as well enjoy the sight, could you serve my lunch here she asked the ship’s computer’s disembodied voice.”
“Sure thing boss! Gimme a minute, will you be wanting Italian or Greek? I have just found this amazing recipe in my data bases should be simply exquisite! It’s this Greek dish with lamb, garlic and I think it would be great with this ouzo we scored back on earth last time around…”
“Yeah yeah that will be quite alright” Nova interrupted him as she knew he could ramble on ALL DAY if she let him, or was it “it” the personality was definitely male and she didn’t want to depersonalize him to much… Before she could fully pursue this line of thought a table spawned in front of her loaded with Greek lamb and a bottle of ouzo and a water bottle for mixing it with. “One of these days you are going to need to explain to me how you can cook food this good without hands… I know you can’t just have this fabricated by the replicator, wouldn’t come out nearly this good…” Which was true, it was great for fabricating components and non digestible but anything organic in basis was always a little off, doesn’t mind much for astronaut food and MREs but with a meal like this you would notice…
“Well I can’t just tell you all my secrets; you are a girl with OPTIONS…” Atma replied paraphrasing a line from Transformers two… “But what I can tell you is that I have used the local sun to fry that lamb up, which sealed all the flavors inside… I mean they do tell you to make the pan nice and hot…” He said in such a tone that you could almost SEE him winking… “No worries I kept the pan at considerable distance and the temperature was carefully monitored the whole time to make sure nothing burnt… That was rather awkward the first time it went wrong…”
After a meal enjoyed in low “earth” orbit seeing the entire world pass underneath you in 91 minutes, well let’s put it this way, that guy that said that that all the world’s problems seem utterly immaterial once you have seen the earth from space was right (OOC Anyone know who said that? I cannot recall off hand and I hate not giving credit for things like this… Always feels like I didn’t do the research).
After dinner Nova grabbed her things and was teleported down to the surface where she hooked up with her ride to Eureka Academy’s teacher housing. She was not expecting it to be a MILSPEC Blackhawk, but she had been given worse rides on the company’s dime so she figured she couldn’t really complain. And say what you want about the military they tended to keep their timetables better then civilians… So she hopped into the back, got her headset on and told the pilot to haul ass…
Flight plan or not it seemed that either eureka had some new detection systems in place or the pilot was flying nape of the earth for kicks... Well a couple of minutes later she cruised over the hills where she had helped on her first mission, well helped might be a big word… She hadn’t wanted to start the fight, she would have preferred everyone lived, but she had never had problems over sleeping after FINISHING a fight… Just as she was considering that line of thought she came on the spot of a happier memory, flying over the –still empty- student dorm rooms where she had picked up Amane and Crimson for that date she and “the apprentice” had arranged…
She hoped that had ended well, she had given them all they should need for the perfect first date. She would need to ask about that, if she ran into either one of them again. Reflecting like this was a good way to spend the time, and before she knew it she was in her old apartment, which luckily seemed to have survived well without her presence… Something in the fridge had gone bad it seemed eggs and maybe some milk by the smell of things, but that seemed to be the worst of the damages. After a bit of dusting, redecorating and moving into her closets again, always a big moment in a girl’s life, she was ready for the Tarjarani Al Tarufo with a bottle of Riesling’s 1989 Grand Cru Fürstentum Vieilles Vignes. Chilled to perfection and with what looked like lemon sorbet for desert this should be a night to remember. Just as she had said that she noticed that Mozard’s die Zauberflöte was breezing through the air, just beginning on the overture. And that was when she realized this wasn’t going to be a night to remember, it was going to be a night she remembered, a night exactly one year ago to the day in point of fact…
As he did every morning, Prince Horatio Nelson Charles the Third woke up in his massive tank, the one in orbit being a decent percentage of the size of his old home. The Shedd aquarium might not have been his Father’s Royal palace in the deep, but it was good to be able to kick it with friends like equals, it was an open secret who, and what, he was but like good friends do it was never mentioned and he could enjoy what he now thought of as “his retirement from the public eye” in peace. He missed them on mornings like this, they were probably all dead now though, it had been what 4 years ago? Lifetimes for most of the denizens of the deep, he would properly honor them later, when his customary salute was more appropriate. It simply would not do to be seen drinking before noon, good reasons and missed friends or not.
So instead he plopped over the edge of the big pool and went into his mobile tank, and rolled down to the kitchens. Where he indulged in his other passion for a while, fine dining, he would need to refrain from his customary condiments while doing so but C’est la vie. A wide variety of fishes served with the best tea the English empire could provide a man of his stature. Jamaican fish tea, which oddly enough is a soup, involving no tea, served with lemon grass infusion. Followed by a steamed crab served in its shell accompanied by a tea he was not familiar with, seemed to be something from northern India, or perhaps Pakistan. Somewhere near the Kashmir valley unless he was seriously mistaken, and he rarely was.
Reaching out with his will he found the interface that could if required vocalize his brain waves, useful for things like telephones and the like mainly, “Atma, what is this exquisite tea you served with the crab. I suspect it hails from the Kashmir valley and I cannot positively place the herbs used. You know how this will drive me mad if you do not tell me.”
“Ooh that would be “Kawa” a traditional Kashmiri drink served in the Kashmir, Ladawa and Jammu regions. Green tea served with a variety of spices, I have used -I regret to say- a prepackaged mixture I procured on Earth when we were there last. To which I have added Almonds, green Cardamom and Za’faran. The recipe calls for the tea leaves to be boiled for one minute before adding the spices, Resulting in a drink that wards of the chills in winter as well as fortifying the metabolism, and both eases digestion as well as is conducive to the appetite, as well as all the usual benefits to green tea obviously.” Atma replied in the clipped British upper class tones of a lifelong and consummate butler. “Will you be requiring me to warm up your customary sniffer of Otard Hors d’Age?”
“I believe not, it is rather early in the day for that particular indulgence mine, but I would love some more of those crabs and of the Kawa. Would you be a dear and refill my tobacco pouch though? I fear I have run out of that exquisite blend of Burley And Virginia leaf you procured for me.” The voice box responded while His Royal Highness dug into his second crab with gusto.
“Of course I can sir, now if you could tell me where you left it or is it in the usual spot?”
“I do believe it is, would you be so good as to put it back when you are done with it?”
“Of course sir, tea’s in the pot and the crabs will be done momentarily, if you will need anything else you knows how to reach me…” The disembodied voice said as it trailed off sounding like he was walking out of the room.
After more exquisite crabs and tea, the prince wheeled himself back to his main living quarters. Where he took a quite contented after lunch nap which resulted in him waking up around 5 in the afternoon. This was just the right time for a smoke and a glass in honor of the memories of his friends… “Atma, Could you please prepare a sniffer of the [FONT=&quot]Dudognon Heritage Cognac Grande Champagne[/FONT]? I believe it the appropriate choice for tonight. And yes I am quite sure about my choice in the matter.”
“Of course sir, I shall require a few moments. Will you be requiring anything else? Ooh Miss Carmine has gone down to the surface, her teaching begins again tomorrow, she told me to pass you a message saying that she could make rooms available for you should you wish to go out and explore. She says she has arranged for something to fill your days should you be interested. A noble endeavor, teaching the children to defend themselves and those close to them from harm, first as an assistant to her but later you could -if your highness wishes that is- take on a longer time position.” Atma spoke in the same clipped Oxford English he preferred in his butler persona.
After carefully examining the options for the duration of a good sized sniffer of brandy and a pipe smoked at his leisure. He found that he would like to share his considerable life experiences with the youth. “Atma, I do believe will take Miss Carmine up on that offer. Could you please arrange for transportation and appropriate living conditions? And whatever else you deem necessary.”
OOC: Yay for breaking the long post combo!
As Vergil arrived at Eureka Academy he took his time to gather his luggage before checking his spear was properly attached to his waist under his cloak as he held a single suitcase in his right hand and departed from the Airship and walked out onto the station. Looking to the sky it looked fairly clear and the area around him seemed well associated with nature, the way the world should be in his eyes. A reliance on material gain weakens the man who seeks it, looking around he saw several people he would probably be unfortunate enough to have to associate with, few seemed that able of handling themselves. Vergil wasn't interested in combat however, if they wouldn't grow stronger by their own means he'd have to show them just how weak they are, reality isn't so kind as to shelter the weak, the strong live and the weak die, simple as that.
Moving onward he discarded his attention from the other students and left the station, just as he was about to enter the school a loud voice erupted from the loudspeakers
ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS: WELCOME TO ANOTHER SEMESTER AT EUREKA ACADEMY. YOU ALL HAVE TIME TO PACK. DINNER BEGINS AT 8:00pm SHARP AND WILL END AT 10:00. PLEASE GET SETTLED INTO YOUR DORMS. THIS IS BY ORDER OF YOUR NEW HEADMASTER. PLEASE ENJOY THE REST OF YOUR DAY.
Not that he needed to be instructed on something this basic, he continued as he was, entering the school casually and walking on to his Dorm room. Upon location he headed inside, mentally designated 'his area' and began to unpack his things, having just the one suitcase filled with clothes. Being a firm believer in little material attachments he kept just the essencials, he didn't need anything fancy to amuse himself. Once his clothes were put away he sat himself down on his bed and observed the room, which while not to his fancy would serve it's purpose at least, not like he had to spend every waking minute in here.
ooc: christ, got a lot of writing to do if i'm gonna keep up. FF you beast hahaha trying to show everyone up are ya. I'm a little rusty but lets get to it *cracks his creative knuckles*
The whirr of the airship's engines were getting on Grigory's nerves, he sat silently, resting against the hull and looking out of the window. Flying didn't bother him, it didn't even cause any adrenaline rush any more. He was so used to heights and floating through the air between rooftops that by now it took a lot to get his blood pumping. He yawned lazily, back to the academy for another semester. He'd packed light, there hadn't seemed much point in bringing everything he owned. He had problems with people touching things that belonged to him and having to share a dorm room with someone else left a lot of margin for that to happen. He'd been moved up to red sect after his performance in the first semester and already he hated the new blazer about as much as he had hated the first one. Looking around the airship, it occured to him that it was a small miracle it was still in one piece, pieces of loose metal and rattling screws shaking nervously on every part of the bulkhead. He leant forward, resting his elbows on his knees and sighing. He sometimes missed being back on thr ground, there he could have fun, he could free run and there were buildings and monuments just ripe to be clambered up and leapt from. You're kind of limited with what you can do when the entire area is floating a few thousand metres in the sky. The tannoy crackled with static and a loud whine echoed forth.
'We'll be landing soon. Going to go around the place first so all you new kids can get a look at the place.'
There was another static crackle as it went dead and Grigory looked out of the window coldly. It was the same as before, still there, still full of people, still the acadamy. He rested back as the few others on the airship clambered to the windows in groups, their blue blazers melding together as they huddled close. He laughed a little at their astonished and amazed comments. Kids, always so easy to please. The airship finished its circle run and came in to land, the ground, if that's what you could call it, coming up slowly. It touched down with a dull metallic clunk, followed by the screeched of straining metal. Once again the intercom sparked to life.
'Alright ladies and gents. Welcome to the Eureka Academy.'
Everyone ran about, gathering up their things. Some of them had brought far too much to carry by themselves, and they struggled to hold everything, the odd bag dropping to the floor, or carelessly closed suitcases dropping trails of clothing as they went. Grigory just reached beneath his seat and shuffled out the duffel bag which resided there, lifting it up onto his lap. He checked it was all closed properly, the last thing he wanted to do was make a fool of himself, especially now that he was in red sect. He had to keep reminding himself that he needed to set an example for the newer students. The airship door opened slowly with the hiss of hydraulics, light flooding in through the opening like water. Most of the kids rushed to the door, trying to be the first ones out of the airship, just to get a proper look at the place they would be calling home for the foreseeable future. Grigory just waited until the rest had sprawled off like children at a fair before casually getting up and walking out into the sun.
He stood for a moment beside the airship, his eyes adjusting to the light outside, sucking on a toothpick as he surveyed the buildings around him. Throngs of people, students and teachers alike, milled around going about their business. rushing from here to there, meeting new people, greeting old friends. He doubted he'd know anybody here. He'd only left Russia a few year prior and hadn't even had time to settle into his own home, let alone this place. He figured his english was passable so he shouldn't have too much trouble communicating but for now he just kept to himself, keeping quiet as he started walking through the grounds. He despised the red blazer he had to wear, it wasn't his sort of thing at all but it was the rules. The last thing he needed was trouble from the disciplinary sect or the teachers. He looked at a slip of paper he pulled from his pocket. On it he'd scrawled down his dorm room and looked along the buildings to find the correct one. He spat out the toothpick, lifted his bag onto his shoulder and set off towards his new room, hands shoved in pockets.
ooc: that'll do XD
Vale.png
"Man... Where is everybody now?" Vale thought, as he looked around with sleepy eyes. Right before he arrived at the air ship to take them away, he was wondering how amazed he would be. Instead, he fell asleep as soon as he arrived on the ship, due to his long walk to the gather point for the academy. Vale yawned one more time before taking his blue backpack with his belongings; he didn't had much belongings in the first place, and started walking as the last person down the plank unto the academy grounds. His eyes widened when he saw the academy very well, it was so big, even bigger than his father's mansion, or his vacation house. He ran inside the huge gates of the academy to end up on the main square, he suddenly felt a hard gust of wind, and as he looked up he noticed a huge dragon with a young person on top wearing some kind of dress, he frowned, thinking he or she most likely had a huge ego going with a dragon to school, and made a mental note to remind him or her.
ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS: WELCOME TO ANOTHER SEMESTER AT EUREKA ACADEMY. YOU ALL HAVE TIME TO PACK. DINNER BEGINS AT 8:00pm SHARP AND WILL END AT 10:00. PLEASE GET SETTLED INTO YOUR DORMS. THIS IS BY ORDER OF YOUR NEW HEADMASTER. PLEASE ENJOY THE REST OF YOUR DAY.
Vale flinched by the sudden voice that echoed through the whole academy. But he didn't know what time it was, and since he didn't know anybody yet, he didn't ask anybody. He took out a paper out of his pocket, and read it:
"Hay Kid, this is..... blah blah Eureka Academy blah blah," Vale muttered as he imitated his mentor Yuri. "So because your low test results, blah blah, you are placed in the Blue Sect.." As Vale ignored the rest of the letter, "Blue sect ok, but what's a sect?" He asked to himself as he scratched his head in a slight confusion. "Might as well get going," He thought as he started sprinting to the main entrance, accidentally pushing a Wolf-ish person, making him stop.
"Sorry Wolf, I'm a bit lost right now. Maybe you know where Blue-Sect-thing is?" Vale asked as he examined the Wolf-person, as he pointed to himself and smiled. "My name is Vale "C.C." Breeze, and I'll be the best around here!" He stated as he showed his confidence in his greeting.
Yeah, basic confusion intented. As well as first contact with Crimson to *cough* Force *cough* Crimson Wolf to post.
Whispers all around him, stares, pointing, all of it expected. After what had happened last year, it was going to be seen very early in this year. Rumors flew fast, especially about the former trouble-maker turned student council turned to black sect student. One word, however, was on everyone's lips and minds when they saw the serious young man in a black cloak at the top of the ship, watching as the Academy came into view.
"Traitor."
Orion wasn't surprised. Being at Diaga, and then serving with Diaga during the Academy war, he was viewed with mistrust and hate. But then, he was still here, so either they were too afraid to do something (doubtful), or they recognized his abilities and decided to make use of him (likely).
He looked down at his card.
OrionID.png
It had a bit of new info. Flipping it, he found his dorm room. As the airship pulled in, Orion slid off the top of it where he had been and landed on the ground, his rucksack remaining on his shoulder. He still traveled light, now out realizing he didn't need much at all. The Academy had what he didn't bring. He walked forward to the black sect dorms, his new home here, and ignored the many stares, until one person spoke up.
"So, traitor. You think your too good to even look at us, what with your training from Diaga?!?"
Orion's head raised and he turned. A random red sect student. Great. Orion had no wish to fight, never did. He spoke then.
"If you want to fight me, schedule a match in the arena. Otherwise, leave me be."
The red sect student growled and drew a sword he had at his waist.
"Forget the arena! I'm going to end the disgrace now!"
With that, the red student lunged, sword stabbing out.
OOC: It seemed fitting, what with Orion returning from Diaga. He will defend himself if a DisCo doesn't appear to stop it.
It had been a long time since she had joined the Disciplinary Committee. No...really it had only been a few years, but it felt like much longer. She had seen a lot in her time as a member of the esteemed group that held the rules, second only to the Student Council.
Of course, she had seen much more in the space of those few years than most people saw in a lifetime. Whether that was a good thing or a bad thing she couldn't tel just yet, but she knew that her work had a benefit to the school and helped uphold it's good name. Was that not good enough in and of itself? No, her feelings on the matter didn't matter. She knew she was doing everything to her standards.
The recent changes to the Disciplinary Committee...some had surprised her, some had not. Namely Raistlin Majere's "promotion", if you wanted, to Student Council. She didn't necessarily feel abandoned by their former leader. Members of the Disciplinary Committee didn't really aim to move higher in the ranks. They simply wished for the best for the school, or so she liked to think. And so she would welcome the more surprising addition of two newcomers to the Disciplinary Committee. A new leader, and a new second chair. If they helped keep order, they were more than welcome.
She had been mostly behind the scenes last year, but now was the time to step out into the open and take action. Working as a team player wasn't always something Athena was good at, but she would learn this year. For the good of the school and its students.
It was good to know, as the students watched her pass, that she was still recognizable as someone who would uphold the rules of this establishment. All ruckus and noise stopped as she passed, eyes keenly looking for any trouble, before normal conversation resumed as she passed the common students by.
Yes, a new semester. A new start.
OOC: You control the red sect Shadow.
Delijah
All was well and lively as students talked and chatted together as they went about settling in. It was a nice change of pace for Delijah. After all, the school suffered a massive incursion from Daiga and did not exactly escape scott free. Headmaster Krell was one such casualty. It was sad really that things had to come to this stage. Whilst lost in her thoughts absentmindedly, a small ruckus broke her thoughts. From the sound of it, it seemed to be leading to more than just a petty squabble.
"So, traitor. You think your too good to even look at us, what with your training from Diaga?!?"
There was only one person she, or the whole school for that matter, knew that came back from Daiga and that was Ex student council member Orion Smith. The DisCo had a small rumble with him before and to say the least, it wasn't exactly the most friendly confrontation with a massive Mexican stand off with herself and Athena.
"If you want to fight me, schedule a match in the arena. Otherwise, leave me be."
Hm.... at least he isnt stirring trouble....
"Forget the arena! I'm going to end the disgrace now!"
Sigh..... Damnit....
Delijah respected strength, regardless of who actually possessed it. In this case, she knew that Orion had enough power to pummel the Red Sect within a second. However, by doing so, even more people would probably dislike him, which may lead to dissention and unrest within the student body. Delijah would not allow that. With sword out and lunging for a stab, Delijah quickly intervened.
With incredible speed, Delijah appeared in between Orion and the Red Sect. None of the by standers even noticed her appearing until the Red Sect was stopped in his track. Dramatically, with her Gakuran and Yeloow DisCo blazer flapping from her entrance, Delijah's left hand was raised and the tip of the sword stabbed straight at her palm. Rather than skewering through the small girl's hand, the tip quivered as the Red Sect lunge was halted. There was not even a scratch. A small blue fire flared at her left eye, bolstering her strength to withstand the strike. Yatagarasu was impaled into the ground where Delijah left it so she could block the sword, but the curved pole arm Kamaitachi was still in her hand.
What do you think you are doing, Red Sect? This is unauthorized combat. You are causing a public disturbance. If you wish to fight, go and register at the arena. If you still insist on fighting, i'll be your opponent.
For any newbies, new to the school, the small girl seemed almost laughable, but for those that were here for even a little time, knew that the DisCo Vice Leader was like a damn firecracker and for those careless, can get burned severely. As if to emphasise her point, Delijah swung Kamaitachi one-handed in a intricate loop and settling the weapon into a battle ready position by her side, raised horizontally, blade pointing backwards, all prepped to be swung.
Crimson Wolf
Meeting with a confident student
The airship having arrived at the Eureka Academy, Crimson started to make his way towards getting off the airship and onto the island, until he froze for a moment to focus on listening to an announcement being made.
ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS: WELCOME TO ANOTHER SEMESTER AT EUREKA ACADEMY. YOU ALL HAVE TIME TO PACK. DINNER BEGINS AT 8:00pm SHARP AND WILL END AT 10:00. PLEASE GET SETTLED INTO YOUR DORMS. THIS IS BY ORDER OF YOUR NEW HEADMASTER. PLEASE ENJOY THE REST OF YOUR DAY.
Dinner? Good, I am rather hungry after the flight. he thought, as he started to head off again. But when he did, another student rushing along bumped into him.
"Sorry Wolf, I'm a bit lost right now. Maybe you know where Blue-Sect-thing is? My name is Vale "C.C." Breeze, and I'll be the best around here!"
Crimson Wolf couldn't help but give a bit of a smirk at the young, enthusiastic student. "Well, you certainly exude confidence." he remarked, "Blue Sect huh? It is indeed a long road ahead of you to becoming the best around here, but I wish you the best of luck in your time here."
He then looked onward toward the Academy, before speaking again, and took in the sight of it from his current vantage point. "The Blue Sect Dorms... I imagine they would be one the first floor, while other sects are higher. Anyway, pleasure to meet you, Vale, I am Crimson Wolf. If you wish, I could tag along with you to help you locate your dorm, don't have anything to do until eight PM, then it is dinner time..."
Evelyn Rosemonde
Bipedal, civilized talking doggy...?
A young, promising mage, Evelyn was excited as the airship had arrived at the island, as she saw many impressive sights, among them a man who rode about through the air on a dragon, and a man who appeared to have walked out to the students through some black space that appeared in front of them, that closed behind him when he snapped his finger.
Although yes, she was indeed excited to be here, she liked to keep up a cool appearance about herself, and tried not to let on about it. She was heading towards the exit off of the airship and directly onto the island when something out of the corner of her eye caught her attention, what had appeared as though to be a talking, two legged wolf.
Hm, a talking dog? What an interesting and unusual individual. she thought to herself, raising an eyebrow as she looked over in his direction, looking him up and down. What are those unusual markings on him? How mysterious, I will have to meet him face to face..but I don't think on this airship, I should locate my dorm now.
But then she noticed the person that seemed to have appeared from some black space, and was tempted to greet the man before heading off, then decided to approach him.
"Fancy the entrance, you use magic of sorts too, I see. I am Evelyn Rosemonde, and although I don't know any magic dark like that, but I do know a few spells, looking to learn more all the time." the English voice of Evelyn spoke as she went over to greet the scythe wielding man, offering a hand in greeting.
"Could you by any chance teach me a spell or two sometime, Mr...? she asked, awaiting him to speak his name to complete her sentence.
Story Yuta: ShapeShifter
Story stood in front of the door that had his name inscribed on it then looked at the other three names. Great, he actually was sharing with 3 other boys...”Vale, Joey, Morgan...” he muttered quietly to himself. He didn’t want to get to know these guys...
Slowly and quietly Story opened the door, hoping with all his might that there wouldn’t be anyone else in there... he poked his hooded head through, scanning the room then walked in. The first things he noticed were four rooms. He would definitely pick one at the back... or should he pick one at the front so he can escape easily if needed? Story decided the back room was more private. As he walked down the small hallway, he noticed each room had a single bed in it, some cupboards and a desk, they were very generic. Then he noticed a boy sitting in one of the rooms, he looked about 19, same age as he was. Story only made a quick glance though; he didn’t want to start any conversation.
He then continued to the back room, entering and throwing his backpack and luggage bags on the floor. There was a uniform hanging from the cupboard handle... it looked so smug and proper sitting up there and he HAD to wear it. He hated being told what to do but if he didn’t put it on then people would notice him... that he wanted even less.
Story took the uniform, closed his door and began to strip his casuals off, replacing them with his new blue sect uniform. Yay, now this uniform singled him out as one of the weaklings of the Academy. Just what he wanted - to be looked down upon!
He then left his room, going back past that other boy's room, giving him a quick glaring stare-down. Asserting his authority this early was probably not a good idea...probably because he didn’t actually have any authority, but he wanted the other boys to know he was not to be messed with.
OOC: Bold print after first one is Red sect.
IC: "What do you think you are doing, Red Sect? This is unauthorized combat. You are causing a public disturbance. If you wish to fight, go and register at the arena. If you still insist on fighting, i'll be your opponent."
And the heros have come! Not really. A DisCo member, the Vice President in particular, had stepped in, so Orion hadn't needed to dodge. The red sect snarled, and stepped back, bringing his own sword to the ready. Though red sects did know of the VP of DisCo, he was too angry to be rational, just by seeing Orion ignore everything around him and to just stand there and pretend nothing had happened.
"So you support the traitor? After what he did to us?! He made us think he was dead! And then he turns around and kidnaps two of the Student Council, drawing the third away, so we had no Student Council during the battle. And what are the consequences? Absolutely nothing, except for being branded as a traitor in the general populace! And if you stand in my way, you will be cut down as well!"
The red sect student drew his sword back in preparation to swing. Orion merely watched as the idiot attacked Delijah. Only those of Black Sect and above stood a chance, and even then it wasn't a battle sought out by them. He made no move to intervene, as he knew the DisCo could handle it, and he didn't need to intervene. He did, however, move to catch a glittering object tossed from the crowd. He stepped to be slightly in front of Delijah and caught the knife before it hit her. He didn't see who threw it, but he didn't care.
"Children shouldn't play with knives."
Now the red sect student, seeing his target within his reach, roared out and swung at Orion's head.
"TIME TO DIE YOU MONSTROUS DISGRACE!"
Orion had miscalculated.... or had he?
OOC: Prolong the fight for one post, and attempt to start Orion getting a better reputation. Feel free to god-mod the red sect and beat him into the ground.
As Joey sat on his bed, he noticed another student come inside. Neither of them spoke as the other boy walked through and reappeared changed into his blue sect uniform. Joey thought about changing into his, then looked at his phone to check the time. He saw that he had plenty of time, so he decided not to change quite yet. As he put the phone back in his pocket, Joey noticed the student looking at him. He noticed that the boy was looking at him with a rather noticeable look on his face. Not wanting to seem like a jerk, Joey nodded toward the boy, and spoke a quick piece before turning his head away.
"You don't have to like me, just tolerate me."
Raistlin Majere
Raistlin continued flying on the back of Panzer around the campus for a while. It was amazing how flying could take one’s mind of just about anything. When Raistlin was flying like this, he felt as if time had stopped. However, even then, Raistlin knew well that he was going to have to stop at one point. With that said, he simply had Panzer drop him off around the docks. “Thank you, friend,” he said to Panzer as the dragon then took off. Raistlin, not having much to do simply sat upon a bench nearby to watch the newcomers leave the airships.
It was odd, Raistlin wasn’t used to having so much down time.
Alyss Mithrandir
Alyss didn’t know where to start, there were thousands- No, hundreds of thousands of books in this place. Perhaps, dare Alyss think it, there were millions? As excited as she was, she knew she had very little time to start reading. Dinner would start soon, and Alyss was somewhat hungry. Perhaps she could go grab something to eat and sneak it in? Or, better yet, she could skip dinner all together and just stay in the library until afterhours and read until the sun came up? Then, just as quickly as the options had come, Alyss had dismissed them.
There were plenty of times where Alyss had completely disregarded her own health to read. It was a horrible habit, and it had taken her ages to break it. She wouldn’t allow herself to ever do that again. However… what harm could one day do? After all, this feeling wouldn’t come again unless she found a bigger library, and to be honest, that was nigh impossible. As she slowly walked down the aisles of books, she picked out five almost immediately, and ran towards the nearest table.
“These books are not going to read themselves. It is my duty to read them all,” Alyss said to herself, attempting to justify her actions to herself.
