Excalibur II - REALLY!?

You can enjoy a game while doing a speedrun. Don't knock it 'til you try it. Gotta have an open mind.

Speed-running through the game to obtain Excalibur II sounds like quite an interesting challenge, but I would never attempt it 'cause I know for a fact that I would end up failing. xD I can easily clock in about 30-40hours even within the first half of the game...

Sad? Perhaps so! But that's how I roll. :ken:

Hey man, who wants to rush through the game like that. The game is sadly not hard enough to encourage people to fight for the Excalibur II. Im a completionist, but I do see this as a huge waste of effort for the payoff. So for me, its not worth it. Its like those damn sigil challenges in X haha!

nope the finish time is something off stupid that you need and I personally think it impossible cuz u wouldn't even be able to read and understand the story :(
Turn on the game.

Step away from the game

100 hours later, clock turns red and starts at 0:00:00 again

Not true buddy

You actually have to wait two years for the clock to fully reset.

every 100 hours the clock changes colors....

I must be a hacker...that would be the only explanation as to how his would work for me then...

Unless it varies by version, like some games do...

Did you do it on the ps3 or ps1/ps2? PS3 I think you only have to wait 100 hours... but ps1/2 you have to wait 2 years....

Personally, I have never obtained the strongest weapons in any FF game. Even Kingdom hearts I never bothered. I'm always under leveled so I have more a challenge which is what I enjoy. Getting all the strong stuff would make the game too easy for me. Hell, I beat this game with Zidane being level 46, Vivi level 43, Steiner at level 42 and Dagger at level 36. And that was actually quite easy for me.

I've never even tried to get it. My brother has tried, but I never found out if he actually got it or not. FFIX is my brother's favourite FF game, and I have a feeling that he got too sidetracked with the story, as he usually does, to rush through the game. I've only completed the game once (the only PSX era FF game that I have completed) and I think if I was going to try for it I would have to complete the game a few more times in order to understand it enough to be able to rush through it

While I've not attempted it yet, I do plan on doing it eventually. I want to play through the story 3 or 4 more times first though. Then I'll be more familiar with all the different areas, where to get certain things, etc. I look forward to the challenge of it.

not worth it xD

I only ever had the Excaliber II through game shark and tbh its not really worth it all that much the only thing its worth is steiners last move but other than that its pretty much useless lol a little bit stronger than Excalibur but i cant remember if it has a add-st working on getting it legit now :) boring without the storyline barely got time to visit the shops xD

i think there's way too much in ffix to enjoy for it to even be worth your while trying to get the excalibur 2.

never got it, never tried, don't think i ever will.

Excalibur II is easily the most stupid (in multiple levels) optional quest within the ff universe and not only. Even the Zodiac Spear comes second.

I had a file with everything acquired and done minus maxing the cards and minus that weapon. So I started another file just to get this as well but I quit halfway through cause I realized that I would have to skip many missable items on the way. It just didn't worth it.
