Fairy Tail: The Gifts of the Seven Maestros

Haven't joined an URP in a while... So I'm thinking of joining this one. However, I just need to ask one question. Reading the plot description of the anime, I noticed that a lot of the characters only use one type of magic. Some use fire, others use ice, etc.

When making a character, am I limited to using only one element, or can my character use all of them?

Also, while I'm at it, what about races? It is Human only, or can I roll an Elf? :hmmm:

My question never got answered. :sad3:

NOOOOOO. NO WAY. NO WAY. I saw that post and thought up a response... BUT GUESS WHAT. I DID THE RESPONDING IN MY HEAD. IT NEVER HAPPENED IN REALITY.

You can use any and all, and whatever, element you think up of, so long the character doesn't become an overpowered mage. Generally though, I'm taking it that most mages would specialize in one specific element unless that mage is really talented. That, and it's possible to have all sort of races. If we had a talking cat in the manga, why not others too?

A humanoid tortoise is fine too... >.>

Urgh. I guess I really need to run around here!

@ Tipsy

!! Okay. Okay, coming up.

@ Everyone

I'll need more time to balance the crappiest thing on earth called homework, and this, so bear with me >.<

Don't you hate it when that happens? :wacky:

I'll write me up a character here soon. He/She will just be using one element, though. As I go through the anime, I find that most characters really only use that one that they're good with. So I'll just stick with that.

Not a very long one, but, here you go.

Name: Ecthelion Anwamanë

Age: 20 as an adult, 14 as a child

Gender: Male

Race: Elf

Appearance: Child –
2yypifn.jpg

True appearance/adult:
2v0dbmw.jpg

Personality: Ecthelion is a fun loving individual at heart. Though, he’s hardly ever serious, he still has his moments where he can get serious to the point of scaring those around him. He likes to play games, including, but not limited to mind games. He can be manipulative. He tries to be polite to those around him, he can still pull off a rather mean streak of sardonicism. While he likes to pretend he does not care, he in fact, really does. However, he will never admit it.

A major flaw is that his has a major temper problem. While it is hard to make him angry, once someone does, his rage will always get the best of his better judgment, and he will harm others around him to get back at the one who wronged him.

Magic: Ecthelion uses lightning type magic. Meaning, every last one of his attacks has a base in lightning. It isn’t very flashy, but to him it doesn’t matter. It gets the job done, and it does it quickly. Firing lightning from his fingers, he can drop groups of enemies in mere seconds. He can use his ability to conjure lightning bolts from the sky onto the heads of his enemies. However, he has one major flaw. If he is using his magic, and it starts to rain, or he is somehow suddenly soaked with water, he will “short out”. This renders him useless until he can rest up a bit.

Another spell he can use allows him to walk on water, in case he should even need to fight on top of it.

The last spell allows him to change his appearance from adult to a child. He uses this to hide from people he would rather not see, and to roam around cities more freely. (To be explained later.)

Abilities: He likes to cook, often. He also dabbles in chess quite frequently.

Equipments: Strictly a Mage, he uses no weapon. However, in case of rain, he does wield a Katana.

Guild: Fairy Tale

History: Ecthelion Anwamanë has been in guilds for years. Jumping from one to the other has earned him a reputation: Ecthelion the Guild Hopper. A well trained lightning mage, he finds that he often needs a change in pace, and before he joined Fairy Tale, he could never find a guild that could match his speed.

Before his fateful meeting with Fairy Tale, he was in another guild by the name of “The Order”. He stayed there for 1 year, from the ages of 17-18. However, he didn’t like the work that they did. Though he wanted to leave, he had problems in doing so. He wanted to loot their guild vault, and refused to leave before he managed to do just that.

Days before he left the guild, he pulled it off, and robbed them of every penny. What he didn’t realize was that The Order was very well connected. This made traveling in public rather difficult at times. That is when Ecthelion made a spell to revert his appearance to make himself look as if he was 14. When traveling, he now travels like that. However, when fighting, or just lounging around, he transforms back to his true adult form.

The Order has also put a rather large bounty on his head. Making Ecthelion not trust many people, as he is afraid that they will attempt to collect that bounty.

This is interesting...If I wanna join, how much of the original story do I have to read up on?

And where can I find these episodes? :wacky: I have no clue what the original story even is tbh :hmmm:

It happens about several millenia after the real story, so no needc to read the storyline. However, Magic does rule supreme in these realms.

Also, as a guild, we all do missions and stuff like requests. The storyline, you'll have to ask Anathema. You can team up with other guildies in the same guild for them.

Yeah. As they say... Uh. Slow and steady wins the race :D

I'm just really caught up with school at the moment. So, again, sorry. This one is taking longer than it should have and well! I'm taking even longer to create my character, which I originally planned to bring up for approval. I'll probably just ignore that notion and put up my character here soon enough.

At this point, no promises, but yeah, I'll do it tomorrow... It's a Friday! Uh. Haha.

Storyline... Is simplistic. Just many guilds hunting for that one treasure. I'm not gonna reveal anything more, heh. There's no need to know about the original story, unless you're purely curious... Or do have a lot of free time XD

@Darque

Your character's approved - I did a really cursory glance, but I'll give it a more thorough look over later. Shouldn't be an issue.

i was gonna go and do another original for just this rp, but i thought against it

Playing just Viridiania would be fun.

Here's my character. I originally intended for her to be submitted for approval and all, but I guess I'll leave the brushing up to next time. Pretty shoddy, in my honest opinion, missing out all the details about her actual strength and all, but no worries, she's not going to be some invincible superpower.

That, and if it's possible, I'll start this role play on Monday. :D This time, for real.

All characters submitted thus far are approved, by the way.

EDIT: Lol. I feel stupid. I forgot to copy paste the character sheet over.

ORPG / URPG / RPB

Name:
Seraphina

Race:
Omniscient-

Rare beings found in the alternate dimensional plane known as Soar. These are beings that possess powers so immense that they are widely regarded as Gods and Goddesses by the more ubiquitous races living there. There were originally many of the Omniscient, but due to their powers, they ended up warring amongst themselves to reign supreme. Ultimately, it reduced them to a near-extinct state, forcing most of them to inevitably choose to hibernate, letting the world restore itself, and to also finally bring forth peace.

They are made up of elements from all around the dimension, and because of this characteristic, they are able to manipulate the elements very well.

These beings are creatures of pure light, or pure darkness. Those of pure light have the inherent need to release their elemental powers in order to sustain them, while those of pure darkness have the inherent need to take in elemental powers to survive.

It is this reason that led to a split within the Omniscient community, with those of Pure Light on one side, and those of Pure Darkness on the other. Initially, there was an agreement between the two such that a Pure Light Omniscient and a Pure Dark Omniscient would give in to the needs of each other, but when greed finally took control, things spiraled out of control.

Both sides wanted the other side to selfishly put aside their lives to solely feed them, and it was this dispute, spearheaded by the then leaders of the sides that caused internal strife. Different factions began forming, some for the idea, some against it, some for their own ideals, and even some out to seize power amidst the chaos. A war erupted soon enough, and it wrecked havoc on the entire world – due to their natures, being composed of elements.

Death meant the dispersal of the elements, which upset the natural balance that was already maintained by the even distribution of Pure Light and Pure Dark Omniscient. They came to their senses at some point, after having removed numerous of their own. However, from their destruction, came the creation of the world, Soar. Deeply regretting their actions, and unwilling to reignite such chaos again, they took to hibernation. (How Seraphina fits into the story would be explained later under History)

Gender:
Female

Taken Appearance:
(‘Taken Appearance’ because the Omniscient’s true form is merely a bright sphere of light, or darkness. However, they can manifest specific elements in them enough to create a physical form. In my case, my character is a Pure Dark Omniscient, meaning her true form is merely a sphere of darkness)

http://i422.photobucket.com/albums/pp303/8thHoroscope/TheEvilTwins.jpg

Generally, she has two humanoid forms – best illustrated by this picture. Both are the same person, though it is possible for her to manifest both of them at the same time as shown in the picture.

Casual Form

The left represents her form when she isn’t engaged in battle – or to be precise, not seriously engaged in battle. She is always wearing a one piece turtle-neck collared dress that reaches down to her knees and is deep grey with vertical crimson stripes. Although it is also sleeved, there is a slit at the shoulder area to make it more cooling to wear in hotter climates. Also, near the waist level, the dress is split into separate strips to facilitate movement.

This clothing does not provide any physical resistance whatsoever. However, it is able to partially absorb magic spells, hence reducing the offensive spell by half, at most – and only if Seraphina focuses at the right moment.

In this form, she lets her pure white, ironically, hair down. Her deathly pale complexion is also marked with unusual tattoos that are actually runes that she inscribed on her physical self to provide just a little more physical resistance to her skin – because of her weak armor in this form. Those runes also allows for better channeling of magic from her being as well. (Because it isn’t easy to release magic when she is a Pure Dark Omniscient whose inherent tendency is to absorb magic)

Her eyes are a dull yellow in this form.

The inscriptions can also be seen on the left portion of her face below her eyes, and covering the entire left half of her neck. From there, it extends down to split to both arms, and hands, though only the back of it. These inscriptions continue all the way down to her feet.

Battle Form

The right represents the form she takes when she is engaged in a serious battle. In this form, she wears her hair in braids coiled into a bun at the back of her head. Her eyes are a glowing yellow in this form, Also, in this form; the runic inscriptions on her face transforms into her black armor.

Her armor comprises of four parts, namely the breastplate, the shoulder guards, the gauntlets and her plate legs. The breastplate is merely a simple armor piece that covers only her upper torso, excluding her arms. Also in the middle of the breastplate, there is an emblem that represents her. (More details to be explained under the History segment)

The shoulder guards provide some protection for her exposed neck area and it is rather small to allow for adroit maneuvers. A small length of enchanted silk that is magically enhanced to promote comfort is attached to the end of the guards, as well as the gauntlets. However, it is only magically attached to the gauntlet end, similar to Velcro – without the ripping sound.

The plate legs are a set of armor similar in appearance to this, except the color matches her breastplate. Also, attached to both thigh regions are the sheaths of swords. It is partially shown in the above image, observed directly under the ‘Battle Form’s’ elbow.

First Impression:

Most of the time, Seraphina appears in her casual form when conversing with people, especially when meeting people for the first time. Generally, people tend to be rather wary of the girl due to the color of her eyes, which seems rather cat-like. It doesn’t help that she can be rather blunt and acerbic with her words, seeming overly antagonistic at times. However, there is an air of melancholy hanging about her that somehow balances that opinion, varying in extent from person to person.

In cases where people encounter her for the first time in her Battle Form, it usually results in strong antipathy. This is largely due to the apathy to people that she doesn’t hesitate to display, and her baleful demeanor, coupled with apoplexy and violence to release that. Her words are still blunt and acerbic, aggravating the already bad impression that most people would probably have of her by then.

Personality:

Be assured, while her appearance might suggest a case of split personality which is not the case.

Generally, she is quiet and reserved. However, that is not to say that she is, in any way, socially awkward. It’s just that years of being a habitually blunt and acerbic person had taught her to speak less. She enjoys being in dominion, not just in her conversations, but in her dealings as well.

Magic:

Unlike most mages, Seraphina does not specialize in any particular form of magic... Nor does she play the jack-of-all-elements (in this case). Her specialty is anti-magic, or rather, magic absorption. Given the right timing and skillful reflexes, an incoming magic spell can be absorbed, and converted into life energies that empower Seraphina further.

It can also be deflected on the caster, though that itself requires some amount of energy from Seraphina, depending on the strength of the incoming spell. If need be, Seraphina can also infuse more energy to further enhance the deflected spell, and even change the element. Again, this would cost a proportional amount of energy.

Abilities:

Swordsmanship. She may not actually be human, but she certainly isn't 'super-human'. Her reflexes, speed, and other physical traits are just as human as can be. It is only that the years of practice with the blade had honed her skills to a level that is above average.

Guild:

Fairy Tail (Not official)

History:

Who knows? She isn’t even part of the Fairy Tail Guild, but has been working with them for quite a while now.

In the Guild, she is a class S mage, and rather well-known. Often out on missions, there is not much about her that is known, save for her abrasive attitude.

Anathema said he was really busy IRL, so i guess until he finishes off, i dont think we can begin just yet.
