Family Guy, The steady decline of funny.

South Park is the steady decline of funny, if you ask me. It doesn't bother to try to make sense at all, it never has, and it just isn't that funny. I mean, it's like Oprah's Vagina has a gun, oh that's classic comedy.

I never really watched Futurama. I think I did once, and it was okay, but I don't really remember it.

Odd. I thought that was Two in a Half Men.

:awesome:

In all seriousness...or not, after you watch the same thing for a long period of time, especially comedy, you get a bit dulled by it. The Simpson's were funny once upon a time, but I liked watching it when I was in middle school. We were all a bit goofy in middle school, so I liked it. Family Guy really gave me a laugh, I haven't watched a recent one though. I never liked American Dad, Futurama, etc. If I'm looking for comedy, I'll usually give a look at some new comedic high school anime. They're usually purposefully ridiculous and insane, which is why I like those better since they don't take themselves seriously. Maybe it's odd to say that since we're talking about comedy cartoons. They eventually get into a rut like every TV show does, fail to be original again, and stagnate. Probably why I prefer my cartoon comedy in anime. After 20-some episodes its over. No questions asked. XD

To be honest, I love Family Guy. I like to see a show that isn't trying to take itself seriously. I find it funny, and humor is something that I can appreciate. I even like American Dad, although The Cleavland Show was definitely taking it way too far.

The Simpsons stopped being funny ages ago. Same old shit; different episode. The jokes are no longer funny, and the characters are now annoying. I don't think I'll ever watch it again.

King of the Hill: I'm glad it's gone. It was never funny in my opinion.

Futurerama: Glad to see a comeback. I loved it in the beginning and I was sad to see it go.

South Park: I've loved it for years, and it gets better and better every season.

I love Family Guy. I don't give a fuck :P It's not up it's own ass, it's not preachy and it doesn't take itself seriously at all. It knows exactly what it is and doesn't try to present itself any other way.

I think the jokes are funny and I love the sheer ridiculousness of it. Sorry LOL Except that I'm not.

The decline of Family Guy, in my opinion, came in the episode where Stewie wants his money back from Brian. Right at the point where he beats the living crap out of Brian with various objects and such. I've noticed from that point on, Family Guy started relying heavily on violence as its main source of humor, and that made me just give up on the show. I hated to say it, since I started out loving the show, but if that's the way it's going to be, then I'm not watching anymore. :gasp:
