Fantasy. I wuvs it to pieces ^_^ But not awful Tolkien-rip-off fantasy. There is far too much of that. *Cough*Eragon*Cough*.

P.S: No offense to those who like Eragon.

well: (Harry potter) (Eragon)
Fiction.. fantasy u no..

Adult mystery... Especially the pendergast series

yup

i usually stick to sci-fi or fantasy...but i voted for sci-fi

I'm a fan of Anne Rice's books myself...
And if any of you have read the Sabriel series by Garth Nix...it's great.

Fantasy FTW!

I enjoy Horror, Romance, Comedy, you name it.

I think what really helps with a fantasy novel is that there are not necessarily limits - as in what is realistic and what isn't. All Fantasy novels contain one or multiple of Romance, Action, Horror, Religious and whatnot, but because it is set in a Fantasy world, it can explore each more deeply than a non-Fantasy book.

So basically - I love all genres, but especially fantasy which can incorporate most of the others.

Obvious that I go with the crowd since fantasy just stimulates my mind and inspiration. But I'm also fond of those dramatic diaries and stuff. You know those real life stories about someone who suffered from I dunnow what.

But that mainly depends how the book is written. My main preferance goes to fantasy books.

I'm not really sure what my favorite literary genre is... I don't even have a single 'favorite book of all time'... I love books by Stephen King (Horror, of course), Amelia Atwater-Rhodes (Teen/Young Adult Fantasy), Madeline L'lengle (Childrens Fantasy/Sci-fi), R.A. Salvatore (Adult Fantasy/Sci-fi), Michael Crichton (Horror/Mystery/Sci-fi), and Harlan Ellison ('Speculative Fiction').

I can't really say I like specific genres because there are always aspects of each genre that irk me. Like Medieval Fantasies that focus on too many characters in the tradition of LotR, or Horror novels with little thought involved.

I had a hard time between Fantasy and Sci-Fi, but I enjoy reading more fantasy than Sci-Fi. I actually like Horror books a lot too, but I rarely get a chance to read them, and I think I would still choose fantasy over horror

I'm the only one who voted for teaching, as much as I like Fantasy. >.>
*don't kill me :monster*

I read way too many history books, encyclopedias, and science books to be swayed too much by the other choices, so yeah, teaching. I learn something in the process, not that the other genres don't, but I just like learning. _^_^

Well, with this being a site revolving around Final Fantasy I'm going to have to say that fantasy is fairly well going to be a given for all of us, myself included. I'm also a fan of SciFi. And sometimes, as is the case with Star Wars, the two categories can often be blended in together. I've got about 60+ books of just Star Wars alone, those novels are what really kicked off my reading way back in high school. I've also expanded to a few titles off the Dragonlance series, a lot of Anne Rice's vampire stuff, Lord of the Rings, Eragon (aye it was quite Lord of the Rings-ish but I still enjoyed it. The movie sucked donkey balls), books based off of the Halo games, and books written after the lore of Blizzard's Warcraft games (World of Warcraft as well as Warcrafts I - III)

crime thriller types. dunno if you'd class that as action, but i voted other :P

I think I would have to say Fantasy books are my favorite. I don't even read a lot of books really but whenever I do, they are usually fantasy! I think I would have to say Sci-fi as well. Some murder mystery books are alright but they aren't really my thing, my parents love reading/watching that kind of thing though.

I do have to go for fantasy....as I do mostly read either fantasy or horror; though any good read or good book is a good book :)

I love a mixture of Sci-Fi, Horror, Comedy and Fantasy

If anyones read any kelly Armstring books such as "Haunted" and "Dime store Magic" They'll know what i'm talking about

Definately fantasy. I like David Gemmells range of books the best. He is my favourite author.
