Favorite Esper

I am very curious to see what Final Fantasy Forums thinks of the FFXII Espers. Which ones where your favorites? Why?

I have always loved Zalera. Coolest name (Zalera, the Death Seraph), Coolest Design, Useful abilities, and is fun to play as (Zodiac Job System only)

I wasn't a big fan of the Espers in XII, sadly. I think the system was poorly executed. (I did try to like it, multiple times)

I've also never had access to a copy of IZJS, but I do know that you can control guests/espers in that which sounds like it would have made it a lot better on the original release.

Personally, if I had to choose one. It'd have to be Ultima though, I love the name / word Ultima, it just always stands out to me.
I rather like the title she has too, the only thing I didn't like was battling her, the constantly changing conditions were quite the annoyance.

Cúchulainn, the Impure, assuming he's the big fat one. I just really like his (assuming it's a him) design. I think he's kinda sweet

Gotta be ultima because he kicks ass

Ultima.

Her final attack animation was very cool and the damage was very high. Her name is also very cool too. Ultima, The High Seraph. Her ultimate apperance was awesome as well in terms of the other espers.

 

[Blasting Zone]

Zeromus, one because his name is awesome, two because he's a very challenging battle, and three because he was the first optional Esper I got in the game.

Ultima, The High Seraph.

For one, she's beautiful for an entity. :'D But she is also a powerful companion (second to Zodiark, but whatever.). She was probably the esper I had the most fun fighting against in the game, and I was happy once I gladly claimed her as my own.

I actually rather liked Chaos. All of the Espers have cool designs and really, I just found his design to be the best one out of the thirteen. He also makes a nice reference to the Chaos and four fiends of the original Final Fantasy.

Zalera

Firstly, I love undead enemies. He's basically the God of the Undead.
Second, his backstory is pretty cool about how he got that chick hanging off him.
Third...the laugh. Such an awesome cackle.

Famfrit for me. He had the best looking special move..And nobody can deny that barrel of water he was carrying was epic..

I personally likes Adrammalech, Zeromus and Zalera. I've always liked Bahamut as a summon, and Adrammalech kinda resembles him, plus i like his limit break. Zeromus and Zalera just sound awesome, like someone else stated before, their backstory is pretty awe inspiring too

First on my list is mateus though. LOVE his/her limit break. the fact that she/he's half fish is also pretty coool! drown your enemies then stab them with a trident! lol

Zeromus,because of FFIV.I like all espers that appeared in FFTA too,it was awesome to see Adrammlech/Ultima in XII

I don't like any, really.

My favourite would have to be Zalura. I like the undead and ice element is my fave.

Other than that I hate the Espers. They are kind of useless. xD

I thought Zelera was the most interesting when used,I liked the graphics for his death wail so im voting for him but I must add the Espers where unnessisary to use at all. I have no idea why they even added them when the need to actually use them was ...zero

Yeah, I agree with you there. As far as the concept of their overdrive..thing, Zelera's was the most interesting, and also the big chubby guy . I believe the one with the most imprssive is Zodiark . Definitely Loved that one for sure.

I mean, if they made them stronger or made the game a little harder I could actually see me using one now and then.

But other than the part of the game where you HAVE to summon Belius there is no point in using them.

I think some of them look cool, and I kind of enjoy collecting them. xD

I love Cuchuclainn He's so funny, and he is, so far, the only one who stands a chance against tough bosses. His overdrive thing sucks though. My second favorite is Zalera ^.^ But I still vote for the green fat one !!

They do have cool designs, its true.

Whereas they were pretty darn pointless in FF12, the Job system remake actually made them pretty useful, seeing as you could use their overdrive at any time without having to go to hell & back to use it.
