Fem Boys

I was using Edgar as an example of how some men do less manly things while looking more like a man but other men that look ''feminine" do manlier things.

Example, people say Edgar is manly, but he's got some feminine aspects. More than, say, Cloud does. Cloud might not be a womanizer or have a beard or something, but he's not wearing ribbons in his hair or decorating rooms. He's too busy fighting and messing around with his motorcycle. :wacky:

Get what I'm getting at now? Just because a male character doesn't fall under a certain category that doesn't mean he's girly or feminine. It just means the graphic designers are idiots and can't draw/design outside of their biased views. :wacky:

Both Edgar and Cloud are manly, all I'm just saying is that we can't judge a male character for one thing. :wacky:

Did that come out right?

@♡ C a l i ♡:

More so than Cloud? Oh come on girl, at least Edgar doesn't look like a girl or doesn't dress up like one. Or has females modeled exactly after him. :griin:And don't say anything more about Edgar or I'm gonna PM you a huge, ugly, hateful post that will make you cry. :sup:

I get what you're saying, really. But a lot of the times if you look girly, you are going to be girly. Or least what I've seen so in men xD

Cloud dressed up as a girl to save two woman. What noble cause does Edgar wear ribbons for? Or what about his mad decor skills? :wacky:

See, now this went someone you didn't want it to. :mokken:

Both men are manly, both have different "feminine aspects", both cannot be judged. :griin:

And that's not true, either. Cloud supposedly "looks" girly, but the guy dresses the manliest out of all ff males, has the one of the most normal male hair styles, and does the normal male hobbies. :wacky: Looking like a pretty boy does not make a man girlier than others. Makes him hotter. Especially if said "feminine man" happens to act like a total bad ass. :wacky:

Meh, it doesn't bother me too much unless they go overboard with it. Such as the case of Vann from FFXII. I typically don't mind it in villains, as I'm not viewing the villain for the entirety of the game.

What is comes down to, is essentially what Cali said. Dress, grooming, mannerisms, personality, etc. Hell even Cloud had a moment of femininity with the whole crossdressing scene. (Real men do not cross dress. :mokken: Also, I'm bias, because I hate Cloud.)

All in all, we get characters in video games with huge breasts, nice bodies, and perfect asses that hardly exist in real life, and Men don't complain, neither do most women. Why can't women get some eye candy too?

Besides, I don't enjoy huge muscled, unshaven men as my main protagonist. It just doesn't seem right to me. (At least in video games and anime, movies are a different story) So the way I view it, I get sexy women, women get sexy men. It's a win win situation, why fix what isn't broken?

Real men cross dress to save woman from having to enter a whore house. :wacky: Cloud's personality-wise far from being girly. :wacky:

Exactly. :ryan:

Negative. Real men go in, guns blazing, kicking ass and not stopping long enough to take names. :mokken:

Personality wise... I won't get into that, that'll spark a long debate I don't feel like getting into. Plus, it also doesn't help in the slightest that I really, really, really, dislike FFVII, making me bias as fuck. :wacky:

But we can agree on this. :ryan:

I agree, he should have went in there guns blazing, but he had no guns. :wacky: Honestly, I think he just wanted to blow off time with a chick. :/

And you're right, this must go back on topic.

Tidus, my dad thought he was Meg Ryan once. :wacky: that's when it's bad. But it's weird, Tidus is, like, the only FF male to make out with a girl and be apart of sports. :wacky:

I have no problem with "Girly men" being main characters as long as they wield a sword or fight effectively they are what they are..........but being useless in battle is the worst aspect of any character in FF.

None of the dudes in FF have worn makeup up or had there hair "prettied" up so they arent crossing too much of a line:hmmm: All in all the main protagonists in FF are younger not yet grown males who still retain the effect of youth.

If they got older they would lose this effect and start to look like the Men described earlier in this thread; Muscular, unshaven this is what real men look like/become.

Fucking hate Vaan, what was he anyway?(WANKER)

Personally, I could care less how the character looks if they're an interesting and quality character. When they're hollow stereotypes with names, I dislike them based on that.

I'd really like to see more main characters that look like real people now and again. Most people don't have perfectly cut muscles (Vaan's stomach looks like it's made of stone, not skin), or perfect faces. Vaan doesn't irritate me because he looks girly (honestly he doesn't even look that girly to me, they just have a very strange sort of fashion in Ivalice), he irritates me because he's obnoxious and idiotic.

As far as effeminate men go, speaking as a straight guy, I'm a fan. The typical male body certainly doesn't do it for me, I much prefer the smooth curves of the female form. Same basic thing applies to faces as well (angular and hard versus soft and smooth). Fem guys are a different sort of eye candy, and not a bad one. On the other hand, hyperbolic female figures (see also Tifa) really don't do it for me either. I like curves, not absurdity.

Am I being trolled? Are you saying the male FF characters have curves? :hmmm:

No trolling, the very fem male characters in FF games tend to have more feminine figures. Curves was probable the wrong choice of words, my bad.

Is this thread drifting into the world of Androgyny?

The fit male body tends to develop towards a V shape if maintained?
Curves are on both the male and female forms it is apart of attraction, but its the muscular differences between the genders.
