Been/going to any?

I've always wanted to go to the Reading/Leeds festival. Last year's looked a bit disappointing compared to previous ones, but this year looks quite good again. We Are Scientists, The Wombats, Pendulum, The Killers, Metallica are all high up my list. Buut, I've got my heart set on going to V Festival in August because Muse are headlining along with Kaiser Chiefs, Stereophonics, The Verve, The Pigeon Detectives and others. Just need to put together a group of mates willing to pay up.

I intended to go to T in the Park this year - it's literally just along the road. :wacky: But I was put off by the line-up ... it's not bad by any means but it's not worth me, personally, paying a small fortune for a ticket that I wont really appreciate.

This Rockness thing is getting a fair bit of praise and a lot of people are going to Glastonbury this year, instead.

Last year, a friend or two disappeared down to London, I think. They went to Download. They absolutely fecking hated it, even though they're right into that kind of music. Too rough for them ... and they're quite rough. :wacky:

Meh, Download has never really interested me much. I've seen this year's line up and there aren't more than about 3 bands I'd want to see. A mate went a couple of years ago and absolutely loved it, though.

Glastonbury isn't looking very good this year either. There's only really The Verve, The Fratellis, Editors and The Subways so far that I'd go out of my way to see. And of The Subways aren't even confirmed for it yet.

Haha, CSS and The Dykeenies at Rockness. Sounds good to me.

The closest one to me is T in the Park, but I couldn't see myself going. It'd be a waste of money really, I checked the line-up and the amount of bands that I hate greatly outweighs the amount I actually like. I have a really stupid taste in music though and I never really expected it to be full of bands I love. The only ones that interest me are The Stranglers, REM, The Pogues, The Verve, Primal Scream, Feeder and Goo Goo Dolls. And it's sold out anyway so...

My sister was considering going to Download but never went through with it. I'm not really much of a festival person anyway because of said stupid taste in music.

I wanted to go to T4 on the Beach, buuuut my friend is going to Paris and now I have no one to go with me ...

Shame really because it would have been the first ever music festival I've been to and ... there are some really good acts on!

Festivals are the same for me in the sense that I hate more bands than I actually like. There could be a 30-band line-up, and I'd only care for about four or five of them, so it's generally a waste of time for me to go to festivals when I have to plug my ears or wander off to do something else. :elmo:

hmmm, well my first festival was when my parents took me to leeds when i was 2.

i really can't believe Jay-z's at glastonbury though, DON"'T WANT.

if i had to chose one this year it would be download, they've got A7X

I've only been to Download 2006 thus far, i haven't been since cos the line-up is no where as good as the one for '06.

I mean; Deftones, Korn, Tool, In Flames, A7X, METALLICA and The Prodigy all in 3 days. can't get better than that, and i doubt it ever will.

*has flashbacks of the prodigy gig*

I'm a bit skint this year so I'm only going to the Village Pump for certain. Might go to Download and Reading for a day or two if I can but definitely not the entire weekend.

Village Pump is ace. Local fest of traditional Folk and Blues orientated music with some modern Rock. Lot's of Ale's, friendly people and awesome location. Not to mention it's pretty much a who's-who of the hippie side of Wiltshire so naturally I shall be making my mark apon its fields.
