FF VI: Advance

Final Fantasy VI is without a doubt the pinnacle of the franchise and the fact that is going to be portable is brilliant, im so glad there clearing up the Vanish/Doom Technique because it was so tempting to use in a tough battle , hopefully the new dungeon will add a challenge as the game can be quite easy
 
If anyone finds an English rom, be sure to PM me etc. I'm currently in the mist of Uni interviews and travelling the country is proving very costly and I won't be able to buy anything pleasurable for quite some time. Thats right, not even sex! ¬¬
 
It'll be interesting to see the differences in the newly GBA version of the game, but I doubt I'll get it due to already owning the PS1 version of the game in the Anthology compilation. The game is great, but I only need it for one system. I jsut hope the story isn't altered away from the original at all.
 
final fantasy VI is my fave fave fave game compared to the rest in the series. Hands down no question. I have been waiting for this game to come out ever since I first saw news for it last year. I preordered mine and hopefully should come in soon.


Does anyone know if it comes in tomorrow or the 7th?

Do you think that FFVI: Advance is enjoyable even if you have only played FF7-10 before? Or does it feel too old school?

Yes! If your a fan of VII you'll love VI. As long as you can get past the fact its 2D and not 3D then your good to go :)
 
Okay cool. I have no problems with 2D graphics at all. I think im going to buy this then :)

Well now that the game is out...
I have a question for those of you who have played both advance and the original version.

What's the difference?
I've been playing FFVI advance for 20 hours and I'm already at Kefka's tower.
I know I didn't get everything, and I haven't beat all the dragons or finished all of the sidequests, but...it looks like the game can be beat in about 30 hours or so.

Is it really this short, or is there something different in the advance version?

Yikes. I was thinking about buying this game until I saw this post. Is it really only 20 hours or so? Can anyone post their game time? I was thinking of treating myself to this after moving but I don't want this to be too short.

I'm 45 Hours into the game and Still have sidequests to do.
She was rushing.
Besides Kefka's Tower there for a while. I can't explain it, just get the game and you'll understand.

Thanks a lot, I appreciate the response. I'll go purchase the game soon. I was hoping it would be around 40 or so hours; this solves my worry.

The Sidequests you have to do are pretty Mandatory to beat the game, about half of this game is Sidequests :P
 
I was thinking about getting Final Fantasy VI advance as well but am not sure whether to or not. I probably will and am hoping that the advance version is not much different from the original game. I love Final Fantasy VI and would love to play it again so I'm going to have a look around for this and see if I can get it very soon! :)
 
I never had a chance to finish this because well, other games got into the way. The advance versions weren't that different from the original ones. They also add a couple of new stuff, I believe.
