Is there a scene where Laguna reveals to Squall who his dad is?

Laguna says to Squall when they're in Ragnarok that they will talk about it later and i've heard that secret scenes does exist in the game so i want to find out.
Also is there way to have Laguna,Kiros and Ward in the party later in the game? There are 3 extra slots so it makes me wonder..

The only way you can get Laguna and the rest of the game (after ragnorak) is by game shark. Still with 3 extra slots you will have to choose who you would want as the extras. Edea, Seifer, Kiros, Ward, or Laguna.

Also no they don't offically say that Laguna is Squalls dad. Although I do believe he is.

I can't remember the exact words but if you speak to Laguna on Disc 4(?) on the Raganrok right near the end of the game he says something along the lines of.

"When this is all over I've got something to tell you."

Okay that isn't an exact quote but that's the general idea of it, I think that's pretty much the biggest clue you get that he is Squall's father. Other than the little hints you get along the way from playing the game there isn't one moment where he just comes out and says it.

As said, there is no scene to discover where Laguna confesses all (he just says he he has a lot to talk about with Squall, and Kiros makes the joke that it's a good thing that Squall resembles his mother and not his father and that's as close as you get), it's never said explicitly but all the evidence is there to tell you the relationship between him and Squall.

It's true there are some hints throughout the game that Laguna may indeed be Squall's father. Raine who was married to Laguna apparently died in childbirth giving birth to a boy. The Moomba mistake Squall as Laguna due to they can recognize a person's DNA by licking their blood. Kiros, aboard the Ragnarok also comments on Squall's resemblance to his mother and says it's a good thing he didn't look like his father. So there are only small hints throughout the game and no secret scenes to be found unfortunately.

And to add on my earlier post.

You can even say that ellone is the "sis" that squall was refering to as his younger self, in the orphanage. Which is also Raines daughter and could be Squalls half sister.

Anyways it could be true that, the music singer, I forget her name, met up with Rinoas father and they gave birth to Rinoa. So the note found in the game about her meeting a man is unknown who she is talking about. Could it be laguna (which we witnessed them meeting in a flash back), or is it Rinoas father.

The most far fetched idea is that Rinoa and Squall could be brother and sister. Which everyone pretty much agrees they are not.

This game does supply a lot of theories though.

As mentioned, it is suggested through the game and to be honest, its not difficult to put it all togther. Sadly SE has never actually confirmed it to be true, but I think its true 100%, Ive always believed this. Squall and Rinoa being related is complete bull. They have completly different parents. The only link between them was Laguna was in love with Rinoa's mother, but nothing happened.

As for the secret scene, this is the first Ive heard about it.

Pretty much everyone else above me has said. Nowhere in the game does it 'reveal' that Laguna and Squall are related though, you can infer that and i'm pretty sure it's true. Though, i'm not quite sure why SE didn't reveal it :hmmm: it was pretty much out there that they were related xD

And as for Squall and Rinoa being related makes no sense. Laguna was in 'love' so to say with her mother Julia? I think... but nothing ever happened between them. Plus aren't they about the same age? :hmmm: That wouldn't make sense either.

Squall is in fact Laguna's son, but there is no secret scene I'm aware of that reveals this. What screws me up is, why would Laguna put his children in an orphanage when he was very much alive? He could have raised Squall and Ellone himself...

From what I can remember Laguna had left the village when Raine was in labour with Squall. He must have heard he had a child, but what was he to do? Squall was placed with Ellone into a orphange cause there was no one to look after them. Laguna was away with the army and couldnt have gotten a chance to look after them. I dunno, thats what I think.

I always wanted more on that part of the story but they kind of cliffhangered it and left it at nothing >.> oh well...heres hoping to see more of FFVIII.

Laguna
was away in Esthar at the time of Squall's birth and he then decides to lead the revolution there and becomes president, so he couldn't leave to go back and see to Squall, which is no doubt something he deeply regretted. But he felt responsible for the people of Esthar which is why he stayed.

That was my under standing of it anyway. And he protected Ellone whenever he could.

He was indeed in Esthar at the time when Raine died during childbirth, more than a year has passes since my last playthrough though so can't remember clearly but there is indeed a conversation where he pours out his emotions/regrets, think it was in the lab of dr.odine (if that's what he was called).

However I believe that the speculations as though whether Laguna is Squalls father or not isn't of any relevance, the game implies that he is and the rest is really up to you. I don't beleive SE keeps a "book of gaming truths" that contains all the TRUE info about their games, and even if they did what does it matter? Just enjoy the experience and believe whatever you like! :D

I feel stupid now that this is something that I never picked up on in the game.
I might have to have another playthrough of it to get an opinion on it but awww that's so cute if Laguna is Squall's father, but even if it was said in the game I don't think it would have done anything to the situation, I can't imagine what Squall would say.

I'm pretty sure it was confirmed in the FF8 Ultimania that Laguna was indeed Squall's father.

*runs to look*

Hmm, I couldn't find anything about it in the translations available at tls. In any case, it's heavily implied in the game that he is his father, so an actual verbal or written confirmation isn't neccessary.

Um of corse laguna is Sqaull's Farther if can't figure that out by the ingame info and come away feeling its the truth without it being said thens something is missing with you all from my propergator being stuck in the ragnarok to the fact that selphie is a sexy minx LAGUNA IS SQUALL FATHER!.....to much?
