FF7. Best selling game of all time (apart from the classic, but linear and repetative tetris game). All the fans want a re-make. Nothing changed. Just a remake on the PS3.

Here is the Original intro to the beauty that is: Final Fantasy 7 on the PSOne.

At the time, those graphics were the best of any game. Now they look dated, so a re-make with new graphics was all we asked.

Square Enix teased us.

Square-Enix even went as far as making Final Fantasy - Advent Children. Explaining what happened years after the Final Fantasy 7 adventure...

Then, according to Wikipedia:

''At E3 2006, Square Enix called the Compilation of Final Fantasy VII, which at this moment includes 6 games, 1 film, 1 OVA and 2 novels, a "50 billion Yen project" and said it would span until the 20th anniversary of Final Fantasy VII (2017)''

It just so happens that Square-Enix have said there will be no new games for 10 years. Well. No original games. You see, Square-Enix are currently making the ''Fabula Nova Crystalis Project'', which consists of 6 games and lasts 10 years.

So if i merge that information, E3 2006's announcement of Final Fantasy VII's 20th Anniversary and the ''Fabula Nova Crystalis Project'', it seems there will be a remake of Final Fantasy 7. Which will be the 'Final' game released in the Final Fantasy series. Only thing is. It'll be released in 2017. Which, at the time of writing is 10 years away.

*sigh now*

I'll be 27 then. I'll probably not even have a console, nor be interested in gaming enough to buy a console and sit through Final Fantasy 7 for another 40+ hours completing it as i have done many years ago. If there's one positive thing to come out of this.......at least kids who are born in 2009 will probably be old enough to play and understand some of Final Fantasy 7 when their parents buy it for them in a distant Christmas Holiday.

(i know i could have posted this in the remake section, but not many people would see it, and to be honest, it'd probably not even be noticed as it's wrong asking all threads to go in there, so please leave it here, just my 2 cents)

lol fuck that ill be 24 then and ima buy a console if i have to and ima prolly through a big party for all my old gamin buddies that i used to hang out with like now. and i agree with you i made a thread about favorite char and why and angel valentine made a sticky thread for us and i was like thanx. but i realy dont goin it that much cuz i posted and read a cupple times but thats realy it i dont realy go in the stickies that much lol well thanks for your 2 cents
 
thanks for the reply :) i'm glad you took it well, i was expecting someone to take it the wrong way and think i was being offensive!

But as you said, 10 years is a long time. It's a heck of a long time. And being honest, in 10 years i cannot see me buying a console just to play a game i liked when i was younger. If an FF7 remake came out in the next 2 years, i'd happily buy it for the rull RRP, but i'm not waiting 10 years. It's just not on..

Does anyone else think my theory makes sense??

Damn... 10 years? Ill be 25... But hey, you never know. I mean, ill still be gaming by then, but ill probably have a wife, if not a long term relationship, meaning rarely ever play...

Wait a sec, if its in 10 years, doesnt that mean the graphics would be even more outstanding? And wouldnt the game be on the PS4-5 lol?

yeah, it'd probably be the PS4 or 5 haha. Graphics would be better. BUT.....i have been waiting for a re-make for the last couple of years, now seems the perfect time, but it seems Square-Enix have other ideas...

Both. There are rumours it's the last final fantasy game, and therefor the last FF7 remake/prequal/sequal

Super Mario Bros. 3 is a better game than FFVII ever will be.

That's because Square said "let's put EVERYTHING into cutscenes and screw regular gameplay and how crappy it looks."

Don't worry, there's 10 years left. But since Square changed to Square-Enix, the series went downhill. In my eyes, FFX was the death of the FF series.

Still, we had great games leading up to FF9. I wonder how life will be without Final Fantasy?

why join up to an FF fansite to say that bunch of bollocks? Super Mario Bros 3 was fun, i grant you, but it's possible to complete it in a day. Try beating FF7 in a day.......

Exactly. you can't...., Nintendo robbed you blind, whereas you could buy FF7 and enjoy a much longer game for the same price. :)

Nah, IMO 12 was, there just wasnt that Spark that i usually get while playing FF games, thats probably why i havent finished FF12 yet.

Well they're making 13, i wonder if they'll fit a 14 or maybe even a 15 in there before the end? Theres time for a 14, is there time to make a fantastic FF15?
 
whhhaat!?!? so then FFXIII is gonna be the last chapter in the series!? and the FFVII remake with be the last final fantasy game period!? no FFXIV???? or XV!?!? what the hell am i gonna do when i beat them...im not gonna be able to say "damn, cant wait for the next one!". well this is the most depressing thread ive ever read. :sad2:

I would join an FF site to discuss Final Fantasy games and because I like them. Luckily for me and most FF fans, the FF series extends far beyond Final Fantasy 7.

Plus the length of a game does not determine how good it is.

nope, there's no time for FF14 or 15. It's hard to explain, but i'll try explain this really simply.

right now, Square-Enix are only working on TWO PROJECTS.

The Final Fantasy 7 project

and the Final Fantasy 13 project , named: ''Fabula Nova Crystallis Project'' which is latin for 'The Tale Of The New Crystal'.


FF7 project has: Before Crisis, Advent Children, Dirge Of Cerberus and the mobile phone game, i forget the name. But altogether i think there is 4 games/movies in the project right now.... There is due to be 6. So that's 2 more..

In the FF13 project, there are 6 games due to be released. It'll be 10 years in the making. No other FF games will be made in this time, apart from anything in the FF7 and FF13 project.


So i personally believe, the last game Square-Enix completely end the series with will be the FF7 remake.

But this is in 10 years time. 2017.

They are working in, FF Dissidia, FFIV Remake, The Last Remant, etc. Not only two projects, as you can see.

FFXI games, FF Dissidia, FFIV Remake, etc, don't have anything to do with FFVII or FFXIII, and SE is making them right now.

Sorry, but it explains you don't know much about what you are talking.
SE is divided in many groups. Each group work in a diferent game/movie/whatever. Because of that, they can create many games in the same time, without any problem. A group will work in FFXIII for 10 years, another will work in FFVII, and another group will work in other games(other FFs or not) during these 10 years.

Mario would jump on Seph's head 3 times and because Mario is WAYYYYY stronger physically than anyone in FFVII, his hea dwould be pulp.
