FFIX On PSN?

Depends on the model. The very early 60gb PS3's can play all ps1 and 2 games because it has the hardware. I've heard a few rumors about a PS2 emulator for the PS3 but I wouldn't hold my breath. :P

I'm surprised they haven't went as far as to making a software that recognizes the ps2 disk and limits the resources available to it or something like that. same with ps1 games. it isn't a particularly complicated thing to grasp :P i am sure sony could manage if they put their mind to it. I think they just don't want to because if they make the system backwards compatible people won't buy as many new games and they wont make as much money.
 
I think the main reason VIII was released would have been on the back of VII's success on psn. Ican't imagine that VIII would have sold anywhere near the numbers that VII did because 1) It doesn't quite have the nostalgic value that VII does
2) It is not a very strong title in my opinion
and 3) it's not FFVII, lol
So to summarise, I think IX's release will hinge on the success of VIII's performance on the PSN, and with IX not being as strong back in the day it could be another thing working against it. but don't getme wrong i'd love to see it released as it is one of my fave FF's if not games ever.
 
I have full confidence that they will release it. I realize that just because they released VII and VIII doesn't mean they will release IX, but it definitely increases the likelihood. Also, Final Fantasy IX is a very good title in its own right. They really have no reason not to release it, unless they just have too much money.
 
Since final fantasy tactics is even available on PSN its only time before IX gets there. I was suprised to see tactics on there before IX tbh.
 
I'm sure they will release it there, just like VII and VIII. I know that doesn't guarantee it, but there less successful titles such as Tactics on there as 92lude said, so most likely it will get on there eventually.
 
I really hope they do, I don't see why they wouldn't because they have VII and VIII. I have never played this FF title so if they put it on psn i'll be so happy. I like the final fantasy experiences. The more FF titles the better!?
 
I was just on PSN the other day and I remember seeing FFVII and FFVIII. I think they did not put it on there do to lack of popularity. Thats just what I think.

If it comes out for the PSN, I'll actually throw down some cash for it. I really want to be able to play it whenever and where ever I want. Also, I really hope they do the same for Chrono Cross. That would be pretty sweet.
 
i actually thought this game was out on friday.... fail by me, i kept £20 in my account to get that game and the stimulus map pack for call of duty, only to be let down by infinity ward and thos assholes at microsoft, ahh well i still hope this game comes out, im pretty sure it will as VII and VIII are already out. next step after IX, backwards compatability for X and X-2 and so on and so forth :D

Yeh, thats what I thought first. Apparently Square-Enix are just discussing it on Friday.
 
i think they should but i dont think so , many people feel as though FFIX is just a "copy & paste" type of game taking old character, monsters etc., so it may not has been as popular as the others, also because it sticks to the TRUE fantasy theme that the games had, in a time in which people were more into "futuristic" fantasy games (FFVIII FFVII), but i hope that they do i love it :D
