[FFVIII] Card Mod Question

Is a level 8 card a summon one...? If it is, you won't get it back. There are only one of each rare card so once it's modded it's gone

If it's just a regular card the you can just win it again off someone else
 
Levels 8, 9, and 10 all have only one of the card so it is best to only mod them if you have no use for them anymore (to prevent random from biting you)
 
I heard you can get them back from the joker on the ragnarok on disk 4. I just want to know if you have to mod them on disk 4 as well to get them back or whether you can mod them in disk 1 for example and get them back in disk 4
 
I believe you can get all the cards you may have previously lost, but I'm almost certain that that doesn't apply to cards you have modded....
 
At the end of the game you can get any card you lost or modded back, but thats only if you completed the CC Card member side quest. Now I dont know about modding early in the game and getting them back later on. But I do know for a fact that if you're on Disk 4 and mod your rare cards next to one of the CC Members that member will have the card you just modded. Hope that helps.

Edit: Though there are certain cards that cant be gained back once modded. I dont know all of them off the top of my head, but they are the Pupu card and any of the rare cards you get from the Queen of Cards.
