Help [FFX-2] Haste Effect

Is it just me, or is it the Haste Effect in FFX-2 is useless? 'Cause when the time I cast haste, the ATB gauge of my character just turns to red and the charging of it does not speeds up. And also, the movements of my character becomes speedy which is not very helpful. Maybe there's something wrong with the ATB speed at my Config. Which one is the best: slow, normal, or fast? If there's nothing wrong about it, does anyone think the haste effect in this game useless?

I'd stick with normal speed. I believe haste worked like it should when I played it.

the haste effect isn't useful unless the speed is under fast. it can be very useful if a warrior learns all the skills. there is certain skill, i'm not sure which one, causes haste and beserk on the whole party. it's very helpfull if you wanna finsh a fight quickly.

Actually thats all haste does it mildly makes your charecters ATB guage faster and "hastens'' there body movements.
I believe for myself it worked fine but it has been a while since ive played the game

I don't think I had any problems with haste- if one person is under haste and the others aren't, you can see the difference, especially if they have the same dressphere on

I find Haste useful if cast on a Gunner with Trigger Happy lv.3. Considering that her body gets sped up, she can deliver more shots on the enemy. I have managed to shoot a monster 20 times each turn using TH while she's with Haste status, when I normally deal about 14~15 shots. With a high Strength status (200+), the difference can be huge, considering that each shot deals more or less 1,200 damage.
