FFX-2 Love it or Hate it

I have to say, I really enjoyed playing X-2. I really liked leveling the Dresspheres. I wasn't going to worry about the 100% my first play through, so I didn't feel the stress of making sure I did everything in the right order and made sure everything was finished by a certain chapter. Once I finish this file, I'll go on to make another for the complete ending.

When I went to buy it, the employee at GameStop tried to talk me out of it. This employee has seen me buy games before and said that it was a waste of my time and that I'd most likely be offended by the lack of clothing. The lack of clothing was never a problem. I don't like to judge games based on the reviews, I like to experience it for myself. I'm glad I went ahead and bought it. The game is fun, it may not be as good as some of the other Final Fantasy games, but I wouldn't call it a failure.

Heh. That reminds me of when I went to my local independent gameshop and I was after a new game, cos I was nearly finished X2. We were chatting and the lad asked me what I was playing, so I told him X2. He asked if I'd played X, and I hadn't at the time. He went straight into the back of the shop, picked out a copy of X and said "here. I'll sell it you for £6 if you play it before you finish X2"- so I did!

But I really like X2- It's a game I like to play if I don't want to be taxed too much

i dont like x-2 it dont realy play wel
and yuna is the head player ????????
and the store dont is borring spere hunters ??
but graphic its a beautiful gam dats somthing i must admit

I like this game. Since it is the first true sequel, I was able to play it right after the "first" one and still know what's going on in the story, instead of getting lost like some of the others.

It's one of my favorites. The story is good, and poignant, the characters are loveable and understandable and the main thing is the OST is absolutely amazingly beautiful. Who can actually say that they don't like Memories of Light and Waves? I think it was a wise choice for the substitition of the classic prelude. :]

And Yuna has to be the head player, considering she was left without her lover and is the ex-summoner who saved the world and stuff. :/

More love than hate.

I've never finished, because I always get to chapter 5 with only around 70ish%, which makes me want to break my controller and start over.

I like the ATB, but only when turned up to maximum speed.

Loved the continuation of good graphics, and insane story. I am clearly one of the few who liked the change in attitudes / personalities. Loved the costumes.

Only two things I hated. Well, only one I hated, one that just bugged me.

I didn't like switching dressspheres in the middle of a fight. I always just choose the three that would help me most in the next boss fight or area.

Paine. I hate Paine. I will admit I cheated and looked up the full ending to find out what/who Paine is, and I still hate her. Every time she opened her mouth, I just wanted to reach out and slap her. "I'm super-cool because I say what every one is thinking already."

I put this one firmly in my "dislike" list, I dont hate it as its a rather good attempt at continuing on the story, however I found it had too many shortfallings and the lack of other playable characters was a bit of a mistake (I'm definatley not a payne fan she feels too copy + pasted from squall's personality which was not a good thing) and from my point of view (not meaning to cause any offense here but x-2 seems this way) the game feels a bit femanist elite with no proper male protagonists, only antagonists.

I don't love the game, but I liked it. Most people I have talked to say they don't like it because of it's story and others did not like it because it was an all girl team. My response to both those reasons:

1) The story was okay and yes FFX had a nice one; after all kill the main character and any writer knows you will grab the readers attention; in this case the player.

2) Dudes; yes guys need to get over a world of only male heroes!!

I enjoyed it, although it wasn't much more than fanservice, really. The whole Dressphere thing was quite a fun little gimmick, but...well, its a lot like Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World. Its an unneccessary sequel, and it detracts from the characters more than it adds to them.

Well I didn't dislike it, but it isn't one of my favourites. The dresspheres were something different I guess.
I mostly played it for the Tidus closure I needed though xD
I found the mini-games too much after a while. I still can't play Sphere Break ^_^

I never Play the game yet but if it's mutch better then FF-X then I will love it then

In many ways when i played FFX-2 i felt like i was playing FFX all over again, but then again the story was cool and i totally liked that new characther Payne for me the game wouldn't have been the same without her ok.

I quite like X-2. it's not perfect but no game is.

The storyline is decent and I like you actually have some control over the plot. Depending on what you do or do not do or in what order, some things change and that is a breath of fresh air to the very linear FFX.

I think Yuna's character improved immensely from X. In X she's basically a dooormat. Yevon, Tidus, everyone walks all over her.

X-2 she's out on her own and doing what makes her happy. She even has the nerve to tell Nooj the truth; his plan sucks. She comes up with her own plan and it works.

That being said, as I expressed in my Biggest Flaw thread, it is very tedious to do all the extra stuff. The side-missions account fo rabout 60% of the game and I definitely don't like that. However some of the side missions, like the Ronso-Guado feud, the subplot with the Crimson Squad, tthose things were very interesting to me.

Personally-I liked the game. The dresspheres were something different and I found that intresting and fun to play around with. I liked the game a lot-- but, it didn't really have a goodstoryline to it imo...
like okay you joined the Gullwings so you could found out about Tidus and where he went and whatnot
Plus with the
"Alternate" endings
it made it sort of confusing to me... I enjoyed the game? yes, but is it my faves? Nah not really. So i guess im so-so.

I think it's an ok game....much better than XII, that's what you call a let-down. I think it gets flack because it's a bit more girly than most FF fans are used to XD

Its a good game. I dont like the idea of it being a sequel but the game itself is a good game.

X and X2 are my favorite games, and though I love X2, I have to say that Vegnagun was a complete letdown. Worst part of the game. Too easy to defeat, not to mention a number of design flaws. I mean, it was a good idea for an enemy, but I think Sin would have trashed the thing before it's big scary gun could pop out.

It wasn't my favorite final fantasy, nor was it the best. But, it was something new and interesting. It had a sweet story-line to follow, and the dress spheres brought something new to the gaming world.
