it's happening, believe it or not. so discuss this tragic development
http://www.obstructedviews.net/final-fantasy-x-3-possible/

okay, there's also a shit book, too. as already known, yuna breaks up with tidus to protect him from sin, oh yeah, did i mention he's back?

yeah, yuna's to blame for that one, when she supposedly resurrected tidus she also resurrected that guy, too. :jeri:

please discuss the developments for a possible x-3 and this horrendous book!

One does not simply delve into necromancy.
obviously not. especially with whatever alchemy she messing around with :lew:

but in all seriousness, he wasn't dead. he was technically living again. :hmmm: anyway, i guess it makes sense sin came back with tidus' revival. one can't exist without the other.

just wish they didn't think they had to break tidus and yuna up for some stupid ass reason. absolutely none of us are actually believing they won't get back together, so it's so stupid. :hmmm:

Unless I misread that, it was the sage on the island the raised Tidus back to life not Yuna. So not Yunas fault but this sage who was more then likely a worshiper of Sin. Or someone akin to Seymour who wanted to be the next Sin. Maybe since she raised it she has some mystic control over it.

^hmm, maybe. didn't think of that.

but, why wouldn't yuna check to see if that sage was evil or whatever before having him bring tidus back? :hmmm: very irrational.

Could be a variety of reasons why she didn't check to see if the sage was evil.

1. Love makes us blind, so she could not see the manipulations.

2. Not enough resources at hand to gather a more logical conclusion.

3. Sage could have been a good actor. For this we look at Seymour in X. Even though he gave off a sly appearance his tone gave the audience clues that there was more to him then what we saw. So the sage could be a very good articular using words to fool Yuna. Remember it wasn't until she found the sphere that the game let us know Seymour was truly an antagonist for the game.

4. The sage could have even mentioned that his life would come at a price but the sage simply would not say what that price is. This also ties in with reason one to love making people blind.

That's about all I can think of now, might be able to pull together one or two more reasons in a bit to further explain.

Technically the articles around the web aren't confirming that it's going to happen, but a handful of people including this writer, Nojima would do so if enough demand was there. Based on the collective community of gamers on the internet the demand is not there it would seem. Most people didn't like X-2 either. There could be people trolling around the internet saying they want X-3 when in reality they are just trying to draw out arguments, flame, and comments on the subject. The articles are a media tactic as well. They try to stir up comments and talks like this. I for one would just laugh if they ever did as well as laugh at anyone wanting to argue about it.

Ugh... I don't even want to listen to the audio drama after hearing all of this. FFX was beautiful and believable. Now it's like they're trying to make it a CW show. Will they? Won't they? WHEN WILL THEY? I really like the idea I hear on here, and in other places a lot: a prequel. There's a bunch of history in Spira that they can work with easily: why not go with that?

If the sage resurrected Tidus, it may not be the real Tidus, hence why he's different. That would at least make the breakup more palatable... Although the whole scenario seems pointless.

Maybe Tidus' return was a PARADOX which had to be solved in order to preserve the timeline! MAYBE the world is linked to Final Fantasy XIII-2! ;) The sage had to kill Tidus and bring back Sin to solve the paradox and save the world! :yay:

I'm joking... but I wouldn't put it past Square to do this.

If you're going by the audio drama of the breakup. I honestly don't think they broke up, because Yuna learned Sin was still alive before she went to see Tidus. Cause when Tidus and Lulu are talking Lulu makes the comment of "So if Sin came back" and then they say Tidus's eyes lit up and they both ran off. To me this hints that they think that Yuna thinks, Lady Yunalesca came back. So now instead of fighting her again Yuna being Yuna, is probably just gonna go with the other "sender" in an attempt to get the final aeon. The reason I think this is viable is look how Tidus reacted in X when he learned the summoner would die. It stands to reason Yuna doesn't want to put him or any of her old friends through that again, hence why she is trying to distance herself from them.

This is actually news to me but was Squeenix was actually planning on making an FFX-3?

This would be surely be terrible. X was a solid FF game. It didn't need the turd that was X-2 and it really doesn't need another.

I've picked up on where I think they've been trying to go with this - bear with me.

So it starts with the book following on directly from FFX-2: Last Mission, where Tidus and Yuna are somehow marooned on an island together. For whatever reason, Tidus dies, and Yuna can't come to terms with this. The fayth aren't able to bring him back because he's just good and dead now. The information I've gathered doesn't mention a sage of any description - Yuna finally goes to the Farplane to try and Summon him, and he appears. Her outburst of emotion disturbs the Farplane's balance and he is resurrected, but is a shadow of himself. As a result, the Farplane becomes unstable, and the dead begin to appear all over Spira.

Tidus isn't himself; he's always in pain. Yuna feels responsible for his suffering and breaks up with him because she can't tell him the truth - that he died again.

This fits in with what we hear in the audio - she's split up with him. I believe the "other person" thing is just "the old Tidus" and not the man she sees before her, which is why Lulu teases Tidus for not getting it.

For whatever reason, "Beckoners" are like Summoners of the dead without realising it; the Farplane is resurrecting people before everyone's eyes. Someone wills Sin to return, and so it does.

Not sure about anything else but the "break up" seems to be because of her guilt as opposed to this high-school "I fancy someone else now" attitude.

Still sounds like something I do not want any part of. I really, truly hope they do not make an X-3. No. No. No. Leave things the way they are! Why mess with what's already good.

Oh, I totally agree.

While X-2 wasn't entirely necessary, it didn't butcher anything either - it never claimed to be anything it wasn't. It was a simple, fun game following up Yuna's playful life with just enough drama to keep you interested until the end.

The premise for X-3, if it happens, seems to be trying to return Spira to a dark place that I really don't want to revisit. X-2 couldn't be compared to X because, really, they were different worlds. X-3 sounds like they're trying to restore the feeling we had in X and it's not something I'm on board with.

They said no.

Which means any of the following/a combination of is possible:

- they're lying, it's already in pre-production
- they're not lying, but they've not started...yet
- they're not lying, but they're planning to release more Nojima novels
- they're not lying, but they're planning a film!
- they're not lying, they just have no idea what to do with Nojima's fanfic
- they're lying AND not lying, just to dick around with people
- we're all currently living inside the matrix, in an existence where Nojima went crazy and wrote some fanfic.

Funny. I'm going Matrix.
But, seriously yes they said it's a no go. Here's another article that talks about X-3 not being pursued as well as talking about XV.

I'm glad they are not making it as well. Must move forward.

Pretty much. We've been living inside the matrix since about 2005 with Advent Children, DOC, and Crisis Core then.

Was it the red or blue pill that made you stay forever ??
