Okay so... I'm towards the very end of the game. Right now I'm fighting Sin for about the billionth time but this time I'm standing on him. He has an overdrive that charges as I attack him and it just seems impossible to kill him before he charges that. And once its charged then its game over. What do I do? I've tried using Aeons to block the attack and such but it just doesnt work.

Tips? Tricks? Suggestions? Strategies? Anything will help.

Get Anima or the Magus Sisters, who break the damage limits upon Yuna getting them, or get Yojimbo to use Zanmato.

Truth of the matter is...you're exactly right. Sin's Overdrive meter acts like a timer on this fight, and there's no blocking that attack once his meter is full.

As such, the strategy for this fight is quite simple: Pummel away with everything you've got and kill it as quickly as possible.

If I remember correctly, you start at long range...so use your most powerful magic (i.e. Yuna's Holy and Lulu's Ultima). Wakka's attacks will work great as well. Once you get in close, stick to your heavy hitters like Auron and Tidus. Use all the Overdrives you can, both characters and aeons.

Also, you can use Rikku's Spare Change ability to deal significant damage if you throw enough Gil at Sin.

Hope that helps. :monster:

Get a weapon with break damage limit, because Giga Cannon destroys the whole world. The easiest way to do that is to get the celestial weapons and the crests and sigils you need to power them up. Failing that you can always customise a weapon to break the limit. You'll need dark matters. Or you can work with what you've got, ie Bahamut. He already does more than 9999 so you can use summoner's soul to increase his strength and make it so he does 99,999

Start with Wakka, Lulu and Tidus. Tidus will always go first so Hastega. You may want to get Rikku's Overdrive up beforehand and have her Mix Trio of 9999 instead if Lulu and Wakka can't hit for 9999. Anyway, if Lulu has Doublecast, use it with your strongest spell (Ultima/Flare recomended). Wakka attack normally. When you are close enough for close range combat, get a Hasted Auron out and finish him off. Aeons are good too, but not required.

Well, you really don't need to do all these damage limit breaks, celestial weapons and all, if your guys are strong enough. I hardly trained my guys, and frankly they were weak, but I beat it. Just use hastega, and don't do any fancy stuff, like multiple breaks. Just hit him with your strongest attacks and characters. Good luck. I don't think I used aeons either because they take too many turns.

Okay Here is what I remember

All I can Remember is my best strategy for every final fantasy, Just use your strongest attacks and pummel his ass. If that does not work, go to google and type in 'sin (FFX) Strategy' and find the best link.

As the game tells you, you gotta beat him BEFORE he unleashes that attack. I killed it pretty quickly by using Rikku's mix with 2 Doors to Tomorrow from the Monster Arena after completing 6 areas of capturing fiends. Have Rikku mix doors to tomorrow or any other combination that will give trio of 9999 with Lulu and Tidus in the party at full overdrive. Tidus' slice and dice can then do multiple hits of 9999, as well as Lulu's OD magic fury (each hit causing 9999 damage). Rikku can then throw elemental gems at him also causing multiple hits of 9999. Each subsuquent attack will do damage of 9999 as well provided your character hasn't died and been revived. Using this and keeping your characters ALIVE AND with sufficient turns using Haste, Hastega or Chocobo Wings or feathers at the start of the fight for the same effect should take care of Sin before it has the chance to annihilate you. Hope this helps.

This fight is really easy... Get Celestial Weapons (easiest to get is Caladbolg for Tidus ;] ) Train your characters or get Jojimbo and if you are lucky he will use Zanmato and kill Sin instantly

When I first fought him it was without any of the Celestial weapons or anything to put my team at it's optimal sufficiency and I was not very good with strategy like the ones people mentioned here. It was just attack and hope for the best but now that I know how to get the weapons it's safe to say they are one of the best things to use against Sin or anything else in this game for that matter and makes the battle not only go smoother but drastically easier.

It's convenient that you are so close to the end of the game which ensures that you will more than likely want to get them anyway for completions sake so that's what I would strive to do before moving onward into the depths of Sin's core.

Good luck.

Get Stoneproof, or at least Stone Ward on your armour. Ditto for Confuse if you can be bothered. This is because of his counterattack every 6th time you hit him.

There's really nothing you can do but throw everything you've got at him. Don't worry about healing unless someone falls below about 800 HP, and if that happens, use items to heal as they're the fastest way - or even better if possible, Drain. Try to use time efficient attacks (Drain, Quick Hit, "Use", Doublecast, etc) rather than slow ones - save your powerful but long-delaying attacks (such as overdrives) for the very last turn each character gets. Do keep in mind that when his overdrive is fully charged, he does nothing for one turn before unleashing Giga Graviton. Use Banishing Blade once if you have it, as he is vunerable to both Armour Break and Mental Break. Apart from that, most overdrives are not time-efficient enough to be worth using, the one HUGE exception being Attack Reels. Do not forget to use Haste as soon as possible, this can make a HUGE difference!

There really is no need to revive an old help booth topic, if the OP isn't past this part yet, then he has issues :wacky:

Il close this now
