Help [FFXII] Pharos at Ridorana

I'm really stuck here :/
I'm on the third ascent and there's all of the coloured sigils and I can advance a few more floors but then suddenly I'm back to the bottom of the third ascent.
Can someone tell what I'm supposed to do and not do to get past this bit?

Okey, the easy way is this: Touch the [Black] Sigil first, then the [Green] Sigil, then the [Red] Sigil, then the colour of the thing you sacrificed before (map [Pink], attack [Clear], magic [Purple], item [Yellow]), then finally the [Clear] Sigil. The last Sigil can be reached by destroying the Fool's Facade.

If you touch the wrong Sigil at any point you go back to the start and if you touch a wrong Sigil twice, you teleport to an area full of Undead which you have to kill before retrying.

There are a lot of good items to be found in the pharos too. Don't forget about the grand armor you can get from Towers. Although it is one of the most tougher items to aquire. Trust me I know from exp,.

Thank you so much! I didn't know what order you had to touch each sigil which is probably why i kept having to restart. but thank you for telling me that, its a great help

Grand Helm is a very rare drop from Tower, and to chain him you'll need to chain Mythril Golems in Mosphoran first. Don't try it, Magepower Shishak is just as good, especially when combined with Masamune. You'll have to look for Rubber Suit and Dragon Whisker, and if you encounter the trophy rare game Avenger, steal at least one Muramasa from him.
Other than that, have Float magic ready for use for Hashmal.
By the way, if Purobolos are annoying you, equip Demon Shields on everyone, and since Purobolos' attacks are dark-based and D.S. absorbs dark.... Black Masks also work but you can't buy them.

I have a question regarding this tower thing too. Once I've beaten it, can I go back and train, finish my hunts etc?

I last played it this time last year and I can't remember- my last save point seems to be the third ascent. Either I've saved again afterwards on another memory card, or I went from the top of the third ascent straight through to the end of the game- I really can't remember.

Also, on a completely unrelated note, how many is the maximum amount of hunts possible to sign up for?

Yes. There's a teleport crystal inside the Pharos at the lower level. Or you can take the Strahl to the Cataract and walk up.

At one time? As many as are available to you, I'm pretty sure. The total number of hunts, I believe, is 48. Though I wouldn't quote me on that.

Yep. After the Pharos you get sent back to ..... either Balfonheim or Rabanastre, I can't remember which. Then you can go wherever you'd like from there. That's actually what I'm doing right now, hunting marks and getting to the lower levels of the Pharos.
