Well ive been stuck on this guy long enough so here i am. Does anybody have any tips on how to beat him?

Well first of all, using a Librascope right at the start of the battle helps matters tremendously as it shows all of the weaknesses for the parts, which also helps the AI do more damage with your other two characters.

Perhaps a setup like Com/Sen/Rav would work well for the starting phase - whilst you kill the side parts of it. (Take them down one at a time, don't forget libra will have showed their weak element)

If your HP starts to get low just switch in something like Com/Med/Rav or Med/Med/Com if it's worse. Also, another good few setups would be Com/Rav/Rav, Sab/Rav/Rav or simply Rav/Rav/Rav. Building up the stagger gauges of the side parts make the battle go much faster, along with using it on him when you destroy them all.

As you start destroying more parts, he'll start buffing them and they'll be Hasted, Faithed and cast the higher tier magic, either switch in a Paradigm with some form of Saboteur setup, or simply keep attacking with a Sentinel in place - or go all out if it's nearly dead.

Finally, when you destroy all the parts, he'll eventually use Destrudo, when he does this, just keep attacking since the charge time is about 25-30 seconds until he does it, and if you deal so much damage he'll make a noise and he'll do half as much damage to you. (A Med/Med/Sen Paradigm would be helpful when he does this)

There's also the Thanotasian Laughter, but just switch in a medic based Paradigm after this, heal - go back to a stagger building Paradigm. I think that if you spend too long in the fight he casts Doom as well, i've never had this happen myself but if you do you'll just have to kill him before he kills you. :hmmm:

Well, hope that helps somewhat. /textwall

Firstly make sure your party has enough HP, I got one hit KO'd a few times because lightning only had about 1100 HP. You want lightning to have at least 1500. Equip some bangles to increase your HP quickly. 2000HP will be more than enough.

I suggest using your buffs before the fight starts (Fortisol and Aegisol). They help out a lot and make getting rid of the magic casting parts a lot easier.

For paradigms try using Lightning Hope and Snow.
-Lightning (Com) Hope (Rav) Snow (Rav) (Relentless Assault)
-Lightning (Com) Hope (Med) Snow (Rav) (Diversity)
-Lightning (Med) Hope (Med) Snow (Sen) (Combat Clinic)
-Lightning (Com) Hope (Med) Snow (Com) (Tireless Charge)

At the beginning of the fight use librascope. Then start attacking the parts one at a time. You want to be able to get rid of them quickly because the longer they live the stronger they get. If you are buffed you should be able to get rid of them easily. Just switch between Relentless Assault and Diversity or Combat Clinic if you need to heal.

When the actual fight starts its pretty straight forward, attack when you can and try to keep you HP high. Diversity is a good paradigm for doing just that. When he uses Thanatasian laughter switch to Combat Clinic quickly to regain a good chunk of health then carry on attacking him.

When he begins casting Destructo switch to Relentless Assault to build his stagger meter as quickly as possible. If you are able to raise it to roughly 75%, Destructo's damage is significantly reduced. If you stay on the offense you should be able to raise the stagger meter enough. After he casts Destructo switch to Combat Clinic to quickly heal any damage he inflicted. Continue to fill up his stagger meter if you haven't already then once he is staggered switch to Tireless Charge and proceed to beat the shit out of him. When he becomes unstaggered, repeat the strategy.

Now you just have to watch out for Doom (which is mostly down to luck) and you should be alright.
