Help FFXIII

i got FFXIII today and for some strange reason, it wont load on my PS3, it reads the disk is in most of the time, but when i click on it to load it, it gets to the SE sign and then just stops doing everything, i have left it on for like 10 minutes and it has stayed on the SE Sign,

has anyone had this problem, and does anyone know how to stop it doing this ?????

There have been rumors going around that FFXIII freezes on most PS3s. It's possible that you have encountered it, what type of PS3 model do you have? The freezing seems to be targeting the old 40 and 60 GB models, although some people have reported PS3 Slims and 360 problems as well.

I had this prob, but I'm not convinced FFXIII is causing it, it may have just coincided with your PS3's age, if your other games are working now, chances are they wont be in a week to a month's time, until it gets to the point where the PS3 will stop spinning discs, FFXIII does not cause this, it's just that the PS3 has more difficulty reading discs the older it gets, an as FFXIII is dual-layered it wont be read easily, if at all by an almost dead laser, glad if this helps at all (btw my PS3 is in this exact condition atm)

Lol this reminds me of a couple weeks ago, like a day after I finished FFIX, when I was playing Halo and my 360 RROD'd. I was actually pretty happy and was like "Yessss, thank you God."

Anyways, good luck with your PS3, luckily you weren't sucked into the game yet when the problem started.
