does anyone else besides me hope that the beta version of XIV will be released this year if not, hopefully released along with XIII when that comes out in april next year?
 
If they are targeting a 2010 release, then I wouldn't be too surprised if they started the beta in 2009. I just hope that the beta will be extended to us westerners and not a just a Japanese thing.
 
Let's try to lay off the one liners abit and put some thought into our posts please guys :)
 
I would love to see Beta released this year, since i have countlessly asked what mmo i should play and everyone told me to wait for FFXIV, i really wanna try the Beta and see if it is actually going to be worth it.
 
A beta would be smart if they plan to release it in 2010. It just makes you wonder what how long they've been working on the game and how complete it is.
Hopefully it's a bit more solo-friendly, unless it's endgame of course.
 
After playing FFXI for a short while, I really DON'T CARE about it!
If this game isn't much much much much MUCH MUCH better than FFXI, then I'll never even try it.

But I do hope it'll be released as soon as possible, so SE will have more time to work on the FFXIII games. What are they thinking anyway? They are making 3 FFXIII games, of which none is completed, and already planning to release FFXIV...

Personally, I hope they scrap developing the FF series on their own altogether and get tri-Ace or one of their better underling companies to do it. Square-Enix itself sucks at making FF titles, IMO.

AND 3 Kingdom Hearts games, don't forget! I would think it's quite clear how Squeenix approches everything: En-Masse with minimal quality. Everybody and their mom can make a bunch of half-assed RPGs with all style and no substance if they had the kind of money Squeenix has. What it takes real experts to do is make something that's truly great in spirit, character, and story.

And Squeenix aren't real experts.

I hope they give us a beta. It would really give long-time FF fans something to look forward to. I just hope they don't release a beta and then just keep it only in japan I kinda don't feel like waiting a long time for this gameespecially if its a late 2010 release.
 
Me Personally I cant wait for it. I just bought FFXI -- Bit stupid I know since this is coming out but I just simply love the final fantasy series.

Square Enix are the perfect people for the FF Series. Ive played FF1 right through to FFXII. All of them are spectacular in their own perspective.

If the beta is released this year - I will be on the waiting list.

I loved FFXI minus the fact that the over all game speed, even running and turning and such was just too slow, and the population was spread way too thin due to too many servers.

I loved the skill chain system and elemental strength and weaknesses, the classes and abilities, everything. They said they took lots and lots of player suggestions and what not and are making XVI more like what people asked for. Said it is going to be like wow in a way. Which I like, because I <3 wow, but like FF more.

So needless to say I am quite excited and hope to hear more information soon.
 
I think a beta's gonna be released late this year. November/December sometime. Then again, I may just be wishful thinking... but it'd be really great to try out the new features. Now that I've seen the races, I'm looking forward to seeing how the battle system turns out.

Actualy... 6 games, 2 for ps3 and the rest for different platforms, such as nintendo DS, even a cellphone FFXIII is coming... that if I didnt saw it wrong.
 
I did :monster: On the whole I can't say I'm too interested in the game itself, but individual elements of it do look nifty so I might as well try and have a go at it. Then if it's made a good impression on me I'll consider it for the PS3 on the condition monthly charges aren't too much.
 
I am deffinetly planning to register for the beta.
I just have to wait a few months until I'm 18 since I'm such a good boy.
Either way I really think this is the MMO I'll possibly end up playing in the end as I'm too much of a FF nut and the fact I was forced to stop playing FFXI .. good times.

I've registered.

Not entirely sure why tbh. I doubt I'd play it that much til the full release anyways. xD Then again though, it still may be awesome.
 
Good lord, this sign up sheet asks for a LOT of personal information. Next they'll want my drivers license and bank account numbers. :p
