So I know FFX was released in 2001 but Does anyone know how long Final Fantasy 10 has been on STEAM

AND

Does anyone know how much money they have made from FFX(specifically X, not IX as well) by putting it through Steam?

I am trying to make a case as to why Nintendo and Steam should collaborate, bringing Zelda: Breath of the Wild to the surface, and hopefully
use financial gain as one of the leads in my argument. This information I believe, is more than just a simple google search. I'm hoping a die hard fan will somehow know this intel.

FFX was released on steam on May 12th 2016.

No sales data that I can find but with in the first few weeks it did 120K downloads at 29.99 which is roughly 3.5 Million

Yeah, there isn't going to be much solid info on that sort of thing. Digital sales traditionally are still kept pretty vague unless these companies are bragging about something. There's a lot that goes into how much money someone makes from selling their games on Steam anyway, from Valve's take, to how often the game goes on sale (and for what price), how many people return the game, etc.

Regardless, Nintendo currently doesn't need to sell their major exclusives on other platforms. PC sales numbers are traditionally the lowest of them all, the port would take a ton of extra money, and games like BotW also sell extraordinarily well on just the Switch alone. They may sell more copies if they put their games elsewhere, but they're also trying to sell hardware, so it would hugely damage Switch sales. Their priority is obviously selling Switches, so that they can then sell more games on Switch. So it's not practical for them to sell their games on PC.

Microsoft gets away with selling Xbox One exclusives on PC because the Xbox One is really struggling. But much more importantly... Microsoft also obviously created Windows, which is on the vast majority of PCs. So they can sell their Xbox exclusives on PC as well, because they have the Microsoft storefront on Windows to sell it through... Microsoft exclusives on PC are only sold through the Microsoft storefront, meaning they're still making all the money. To play them, you have to pay for a copy of Windows, and then go through Microsoft's storefront where they don't need to hand money to someone like Valve. So even if it does hurt Xbox One sales, it still helps Microsoft overall. That would not be the case for Nintendo, so selling their games on PC would harm more than help as of now.

In other words, any short term financial gain they could have by doing so would be vastly outweighed by how much more money they can make by keeping it exclusive to Switch, so that more people buy the Switch.
