Moderators: Again I'm not quite sure if I'm putting this in the right place. Please move it as you see fit. Thanks.
Okay, so the thread title isn't particularly clear. What I mean is this, and I can't be the only one who has this:
I am often doing something that has absolutely nothing to do with Final Fantasy, and yet, I will hear music from some part of one of the games' soundtracks, and it will carry on going around and around in my head until I stop that particular activity.
For example, I went to Latvia over the summer and stayed in an old, Communist-style prison/correctional facility for Soviet soldiers who hadn't been doing their duty properly. We signed up for an "authentic experience" where we'd be treated like the soldiers had been during the Soviet era. Among many other things, this involved being woken up at 5 in the morning by "Soviet guards" and a siren that honestly put the fear of God into you. It also sounded like something out of Metal Gear Solid, for anyone that's ever played that. We would then by ushered around to get ready for morning marching, during which we had to march around the perimeter of the camp (goose-stepping) until the guards got bored of us doing so. And every morning I was there (we were there for four days), I'd be dressed in my Soviet uniform with the gun and all that, and the music from the parade in FFVII, where you had to march in time with the music and all that, would be playing in my head the whole time. For the whole 2 hours.
As another example, I'm quite into horse-riding. When we do what we call dressage, in which the horse and rider are expected to perform a series of predetermined movements and tricks to as high a standard as possible, the first part always involves my steering the horse in a straight line to the other end of the arena, and bowing to the judges, who are sitting at the judging table. During this march up to the judges' table, the theme from FFX when Maesters Mika and Seymour enter for the first time, is always playing in my head. They always ask us to smile when we first come into the arena - and I never fail to do so because of this.
And as an aside, I once heard Auron's awesome theme playing in a café while I was in Lithuania. I was really surprised!
So, do you ever hear soundtrack from the Final Fantasy series just playing spontaneously in your head? What are you doing at the time?
Edit: I realise actually that my examples above aren't exactly "normal". But I think you get my meaning - do you hear Final Fantasy music in your head in unusual situations, when you're *not* in front of the computer playing it?
