5 years have passed since Sephiroth has been vanquished. The world seems to be in a state better than it has ever been. There have been no wars, no fights and no bloodshed. People look to be enjoying life, rather than fighting for it.
Cloud and Co had decided to lye low since the events of the past, trying not to draw attention to themselves, trying to forget it all.
Each member of the group chose to go their separate ways and live their life how they wanted it.
Each member of the group chose to go their separate ways and live their life how they wanted it.
Over the years, small groups and factions had come and gone; trying to disrupt the harmony of Gaia.
Some believe that somewhere, ShinRa still plot and function and have simply been deploying these groups as decoy's while they reform. Other's believe that ShinRa simply had many followers that wanted to replicate them.
Rumors like these have been circulating ever since the prevention of Meteor. The rumors never held any merit, until recently.

Various reports were eminating from Midgar that crime was increasing considerably. People were being mugged for materia and stores were being robbed.
The attacks were making news daily on most news stations through the city:

"Citizens of Midgar are reminded to travel in groups whenever possible. Try to avoid the streets at night, and always keep an eye out for any shady looking characters.
The people carrying out these attacks are said to be very dangerous and highly skilled fighters. Unfortunately there are no tell-tale sign's or visual characteristics of the assailants; just stay alert.

Many residents have been predicting a crime spree of this sort since the vanishing of AVALANCHE. Despite various requests and plea's from the public, the calls for help have gone unheard and Midgar has long been crying out
for a protector of the city. How much longer can their calls go unheard?! This is Sector 3 news. Good night."

As news began to spread, so did panic. Stores were closing permanently and people were becoming afraid to leave their houses. Prisoners in their own homes; just like the days of ShinRa.

"Piece of shit!"
Zach punted his rental motorcycle, knocking it down to the dusty ground. He had managed to ride it from Junon to the the outskirts of Midgar, a pretty good effort from a rusty, old and haggard bike. Patches of it were being eaten away by rust while others were hanging on for dear life. Zach knew he was lucky to make it so far, but his patience didn't agree.
The wind was picking up as Zach headed towards the concrete jungle that is Midgar. The city itself was a wonder to behold. The buildings seemed huge to him, even from a distance, endlessly climbing towards the sky. A vast majority of Midgar had been expanded and rebuilt since the choas Sephiroth caused some years ago. It was full of life again.
Unsure where to start, Zach decided to follow his gut. It usually led him into trouble, but he didn't care. He had travelled from Nimbelheim to Midgar in a bid to get some information about his missing brother and father, and he wasn't about to let anything get in his way.
The day was drawing on and darkness was beginning to fall over Midgar.
"Guess I should find somewhere to sleep. Where the hell is an Inn around here?"
Zach pondered. For such a huge place, it was pretty poorly signposted.
He surveyed the area, hoping to stumble across an Inn, or at least someone he could ask for directions. No luck. Granted, he wasn't in the centre of Midgar, but the lack of people around was very hard for Zach to get his head around. All of the stories he had heard about it were those of bustling people and huge crowds. Seemingly all of those stories only applied to the daytime.

The rain was now beginning to beat down. The ice cold droplets were trickling down Zach's growlingly frustrated face. Fortunately, outside of a boarded up store, he spotted a woman. Middle aged perhaps, the lady looked weathered and exhausted.
"Hey, lady! Wait up, I need directions!"
Zach shouted to the woman before jogging in her direction.

"S..stay away from me! I don't have anything! Please leave me alone!"
The woman was terrified of Zach, much to his bemusement.
She ran off into the night, whimpering as she dissapeared. The one person Zach had so far managed to find, had ran away from him in fear.

"What the hell? Mental note, people from Midgar are weird."
He shrugged off the incident and carried on along his way. An hour passed and tiredness began to set in. His legs were getting heavy and a full on pout had formed over his face; tantrum's weren't uncommon when Zach was involved.
Eventually, the warming glow of a neon light become visible. It had to be an Inn or bar of some sort; the name wasn't clear through the vicious rain.

Ever the drama queen, Zach dropped to his knees:
"Hallelujah!"
"Hallelujah!"
He didn't care what this place was like, he just needed sleep. Finding his second wind, Zach pulled himself up and ran off towards the light in the distance. Anywhere was better than outside.
