5 years have passed since Sephiroth has been vanquished. The world seems to be in a state better than it has ever been. There have been no wars, no fights and no bloodshed. People look to be enjoying life, rather than fighting for it.

Cloud and Co had decided to lye low since the events of the past, trying not to draw attention to themselves, trying to forget it all.
Each member of the group chose to go their separate ways and live their life how they wanted it.

Over the years, small groups and factions had come and gone; trying to disrupt the harmony of Gaia.
Some believe that somewhere, ShinRa still plot and function and have simply been deploying these groups as decoy's while they reform. Other's believe that ShinRa simply had many followers that wanted to replicate them.
Rumors like these have been circulating ever since the prevention of Meteor. The rumors never held any merit, until recently.

Various reports were eminating from Midgar that crime was increasing considerably. People were being mugged for materia and stores were being robbed.
The attacks were making news daily on most news stations through the city:

"Citizens of Midgar are reminded to travel in groups whenever possible. Try to avoid the streets at night, and always keep an eye out for any shady looking characters.
The people carrying out these attacks are said to be very dangerous and highly skilled fighters. Unfortunately there are no tell-tale sign's or visual characteristics of the assailants; just stay alert.

Many residents have been predicting a crime spree of this sort since the vanishing of AVALANCHE. Despite various requests and plea's from the public, the calls for help have gone unheard and Midgar has long been crying out
for a protector of the city. How much longer can their calls go unheard?! This is Sector 3 news. Good night."

As news began to spread, so did panic. Stores were closing permanently and people were becoming afraid to leave their houses. Prisoners in their own homes; just like the days of ShinRa.

"Piece of shit!"

Zach punted his rental motorcycle, knocking it down to the dusty ground. He had managed to ride it from Junon to the the outskirts of Midgar, a pretty good effort from a rusty, old and haggard bike. Patches of it were being eaten away by rust while others were hanging on for dear life. Zach knew he was lucky to make it so far, but his patience didn't agree.

The wind was picking up as Zach headed towards the concrete jungle that is Midgar. The city itself was a wonder to behold. The buildings seemed huge to him, even from a distance, endlessly climbing towards the sky. A vast majority of Midgar had been expanded and rebuilt since the choas Sephiroth caused some years ago. It was full of life again.

Unsure where to start, Zach decided to follow his gut. It usually led him into trouble, but he didn't care. He had travelled from Nimbelheim to Midgar in a bid to get some information about his missing brother and father, and he wasn't about to let anything get in his way.

The day was drawing on and darkness was beginning to fall over Midgar.

"Guess I should find somewhere to sleep. Where the hell is an Inn around here?"
Zach pondered. For such a huge place, it was pretty poorly signposted.
He surveyed the area, hoping to stumble across an Inn, or at least someone he could ask for directions. No luck. Granted, he wasn't in the centre of Midgar, but the lack of people around was very hard for Zach to get his head around. All of the stories he had heard about it were those of bustling people and huge crowds. Seemingly all of those stories only applied to the daytime.

The rain was now beginning to beat down. The ice cold droplets were trickling down Zach's growlingly frustrated face. Fortunately, outside of a boarded up store, he spotted a woman. Middle aged perhaps, the lady looked weathered and exhausted.

"Hey, lady! Wait up, I need directions!"
Zach shouted to the woman before jogging in her direction.

"S..stay away from me! I don't have anything! Please leave me alone!"
The woman was terrified of Zach, much to his bemusement.
She ran off into the night, whimpering as she dissapeared. The one person Zach had so far managed to find, had ran away from him in fear.

"What the hell? Mental note, people from Midgar are weird."
He shrugged off the incident and carried on along his way. An hour passed and tiredness began to set in. His legs were getting heavy and a full on pout had formed over his face; tantrum's weren't uncommon when Zach was involved.
Eventually, the warming glow of a neon light become visible. It had to be an Inn or bar of some sort; the name wasn't clear through the vicious rain.

Ever the drama queen, Zach dropped to his knees:
"Hallelujah!"

He didn't care what this place was like, he just needed sleep. Finding his second wind, Zach pulled himself up and ran off towards the light in the distance. Anywhere was better than outside.

Ayumi Aiko
Mount: Ohri-Jin
Continent: Wutai
Tribe: Rukai

Wutai_troops.png

Ayumi is part of a tribe of strong warriors that pays hommage to the earth element. Her tribe worships a God that resembles a tiger. In fact she heritaged her summon materia from her mother, who died in the Wutai war, and her tribe members believe her summon is actually a descendant from their God "Zinzu". Their village is pretty much secluded from the rest of Wutai. Its located north-west of Wutai and includes caves and even parts underground. They produce weapons with materials provided by mining and excavations.

Before her sudden leave, Ayumi went to see her tribe's leader. Although she would like to avoid seeing him, she knew it would be disrespectful slipping out of the town without saying a word. As she left her underground cabin she noticed the moon shining and hears Wolves howling in the distance. She felt guilty suddenly leaving without saying anything to anyone. She couldnt bare to say farewell to her friends and family, but she knew from within she would come back and that she has to avenge her parents deaths somehow. So this is something she must do.

"Why is it that you are awake at this time my child?"

Ayumi was startled as she did not expect to see her tribe leader this suddenly. She did not even walk 3 meters and here he is, the one she wanted to say goodbye to. She immediately dropped down on her knees and bowed in front of her master.

"Please dont bow for me. You know thats not necessary" he said with a smile on his face.
"You know your mom was a powerful General that made even the strongest men crumbel on their feet when dueling with her. She was the only one Ohri-Jin would listen to, but she was also very intelligent. We were one day practising the art of Whusheng near Wutai Village and a group of men robbed us from our materia and belongings. They showed your mother absolutely no respect and as the fiesty young fella I was back then, I tried to charge at them. Your mother stopped me and said "I'll take care of this". She quickly used the HASTE materia and rushed in front of the robbers. She threw 2 Shurikens in the legs of 2 men to cripple them and left the robber in the center unharmed. The remaining robber dashed his blade towards your mother and cut her cheeks. While she luckily evaded the attack she fell on the ground. I was filled with rage and anger and didnt think more for one second and casted BREAK upon him.........Your mother yelled "NOOOO!!" and instantly casted ESUNA.......The robbers pleaded for mercy and gave all of our belongings back to us. As the robbers were drifting away with fear, your mother came to me and said "We as members of the Rukai tribe must never take another human being's life. We must never take away someone's soul. For that is not our right."

"What is it you seek out there my child? Is it revenge? ......Your mother teached me a valuable lesson and I hope you'll take that with you as well. If you really want to seek knowledge I wont stop you from leaving."

Ayumi: This is something I have to do sensei. People are being hurt by evil and I have to do something to help, even when I could be in danger. I will aid as much as I can, but If I stay here...........

*Chuckles* "You're just like your mother. Now go and be safe." he said with a smile.

Before Ayumi said the final goodbye, her sensei gave her a memento and also to protect her for the many challenges to come. A necklace which harbours a tiny fragment of the planet's lifestream.

Ayumi summons her tiger Ohri-Jin, strokes it and hops on.

Through Mountains, deserts, sea's they crossed together. It took 4 days for Ayumi and Ohri-Jin to finally reach the front gates of Midgar.

Hearing the door opening and a customer coming in, Tifa turned to face the man and greeted saying "Hello there, welcome to 7th Heaven. Can I fix you up something to drink?" as she set her hands down on the counter.

This one seemed to be an unfamiliar face, but a customer is a customer, so it was business as usual, the routine greet, offer to prepare a drink, and so forth.

(OoC: Hope this first post from me in the RP wasn't too weak.)

Cloud, aboard his Motorbike Fenrir drove through the wasteland trying to clear his head. Though the threat to the Planet, Sephiroth was defeated he couldn't help thinking there was more trouble over the horizon. Perhaps it was an inner instinct or perhaps he was overreacting, he didn't know but regardless he would fight him if he ever returned even if it killed him.

Since the events of Meteorfall he had regained some level of happiness, settled down to live with Tifa and slowly rebuild as the planet recovered. Yet doubt still remained, the inescapable question of 'what if?' continued to cloud his mind with visions of those possibilities.

Shrugging them off he continued to drive, with the wind in his hair as he returned to the Seventh Heaven. Before he could enter Midgar's borders however some wolves surrounded him, dismounting his Motorbike he took out First Tsurugi from it's sheathe on his back and held it in a battle position "I guess one thing never changes at least..."

----------------------------------------------------

Taking a few steps into the ruins of Midgar, Alaric began to sense a malevolent presence, behind him some strange being emerged from the shadows. Readying his hand on the hilt of his sword he turned to face it "What kind of monster are you?" the being, while human in appearance bore no facial features and had a strange slimy skin texture. It didn't appear dangerous but it was unknown all the same. "Avenge us!" it spoke, though it bore no mouth, was this telepathy? "Avenge us!" it continued to repeat these two words before it melted away into the ground, disappearing.

Almost on cue to this, Alaric was almost cut down by some kind of monster it's body made up of dark blue flames and wielded a blue longsword, dodging it wit ha swift sidestep he took up his sword "well this just gets better and better... Evil or not, die!"

(OoC: *dramatic music plays* And now, in-tro-duciiiing Crimson Wolf! Please be seated at all times, and don't dare forget the free popcorn on that stand over there.

And this one won't be "too short". Yes, Ohri-Jin, imma lookin' at you. This post, is not going to be up for the critiquing, especially from someone all new to RPing.)

Crimson Wolf, in Cosmo Canyon, was seated by the campfire with his legs crossed over each other.

He was very relaxed, in a peaceful environment, and thought about what he should be doing, as he gazed at the fire as it blazed.

After doing this for a bit, he had come to a decision, after having stayed in Cosmo Canyon for the last fair while, before he would be traveling once again.

"Hm... It would seem the time has come... I must go, for somewhere out there, is great danger... I need to do my part to lessen the threat to the Planet and those that inhabit it."

Crimson Wolf spoke as if he had just glimpsed into the future, although that there would be a bit of trouble some place from time to time was very predictable, Crimson sensed something greater would be taking place somewhere on the Planet, and would do everything in his power to protect it from those who would seek to harm it or the lives on it.

Slowly, he rose up from the ground, legs uncrossed, then checked the both of his arms. "Good, the Materia is all there and ready for use should I need something more than these..." he announced, then shifting his eyes to the claws at the end of his paws, "...and my fangs..." he added, as they gave off a bit of a shine from the light of the rising flames from the bonfire below him.

Making his way outside of Cosmo Canyon, he looked off into the distance, and thought Midgar... It has gotten quite the attention in the past, that should be my destination now. I better not shift into my feral form just to run a little faster, I already have this Materia attached that will help make me stronger than I naturally could be without it, for whenever enemies strike.

Traveling nearly as quickly as he could, he started out towards Midgar. It would take a little while, but he would be sure to get there in fair time, pushing forward hard with his strong legs, avoiding the most monster infested areas where he could on the way, and swiftly felling enemies that persisted in interfering, mostly with attacks to the throat with his fangs.

A short bit over half way there, he rested for five minutes to be sure to have even more of his stamina left in him after all the traveling on foot. As he continued onwards, eventually he saw in the distance a blond, spiky haired man wielding the First Tsurugi, there was no mistaking what he saw; Cloud surrounded by a pack of wolves, his Fenrir motorbike close by him.

As he hurried the pace at which he traveled, moving towards the scene to eliminate the threat to Cloud, he thought to himself why does it have to be wolves... letting out a slightly distressed sigh as his mind would say I am sorry... whenever he would kill a wolf, sort of being his kin somewhat, but he of course was a very different creature from them, ultimately.

Getting close, one of the wolves turned to face Crimson, then began charging at him. As the distance was closed, the enemy wolf went to lunge at his head, but Crimson Wolf forced it back with a claws-first lunge, then ripped apart it's throat with his fangs, making for a bit of a bloody mess from just one kill.

The remaining wolves' attention now focused between the both of them, Crimson made certain to Cloud, since he was rather Wolf-like in appearance himself, basically being one and all, that he was not an enemy.

"Cloud, I am not your enemy. I may look like a wolf, but I am not just another wild animal, regardless of what my background may be... We fight as comrades in battle, and while you may have questions, now is not the time."

"Hello there, welcome to 7th Heaven. Can I fix you up something to drink?"

The woman, unknown to Zach, showed some much welcome kindness as he stumbled
through the door. Rain was dripping off of him and onto the floor, creating a fastly growing puddle.

"Sorry. I didn't mean to mess your place up, but I couldn't find anywhere else to go! The one person I did manage to find freaked out and ran away from me; I'm not that scary, Ha ha....ha."

Zach was babbling. It had been a while since he had met anyone that showed even a sliver of warmth to him. It was refreshing but unknown to Zach.

"I'll take that drink if you're still offering. I need it after the journey I've had."

He approached the bar and pulled a stool over. Never has such a insignificant object brought such joy to Zach's life. The journey from Nimbelheim had been long and arduous; he needed a rest.
He brushed the hair from his brow and rubbed his tired, sunked eyes.
With a deep sigh and stretch, Zach decided to introduce himself properly,

"I know it's odd for your customers to introduce themselves, but what the hell. I'm not from round here and it's nice to see a friendly face! The name's Zach Rees, pleased to meet you Miss."
Zach smiled slightly and extended his arm towards the woman for a hand-shake.

"Mommy, help me!"

The child's cry rang through the air, as she was caught with her foot in an open pothole. The motorcycle came on faster and faster, and the child's mother screamed-

Deathblow

A man, dressed in attire that would be better suited for medevial monks then the rain-soaked modern day city of Midgar, stepped up in front of the child, and lashed out with a kick with amazing power shot through it.

BOOM!

The motorcycle flipped backwards as the kick hit it, the engine trailing smoke as a quieter explosion sounded, internal. While no damage was shown from the outside, within the motorcycle was pretty much a scrap heap with wires.

Orion's leg came down to the ground, bringing it so his feet were at the position of attention (if you don't know what that is, I feel sorry for you). His hands came together, the right a fist and the left an open palm, and he bowed in the general direction of the broken bike. Then Orion turned, kneeled down, and inspected the little girl's leg, who was quieted at from the powerful presence of the person who saved her.

"Your leg doesn't seem to be injured. If you will allow me?"

The question was directed at both females, and as the daughter nodded Orion's peripheral vision caught the relieved mother also nodding, unable to speak. After all, if the man was willing to stop a motorcycle to save her daughter without even knowing who she was, he couldn't be that bad. Orion gently placed his hands on her leg and lifted it free, showing a sense of calm that most wouldn't display after almost being run over by a motorcycle. Orion stood, placing the girl at his feet, who looked up with shining eyes. Orion smiled gently, reaching into a pocket and giving the child a sweet.

"There you go, little one. Why don't you head home with your mother now?"

The child, unable to speak, took the sweet, and hugged Orion's leg fiercely. Then she turned, running to her mother who swept the little girl off her feet and held her tight. Water ran down the woman's face, and it wasn't just that of the rain.

"Thank you so much stranger. If you hadn't intervened..."

The woman stopped, unwilling to think of that conclusion. Orion merely politely inclined his head at her. The woman turned and, placing her child on the ground and taking her hand, walked with her daughter to their house. Orion turned to survey the wreck, and noticed that the man driving had disappeared.

I had hoped to apologize... Maybe I will see him again.

Orion then proceeded down the unknown street, his hands in his pockets, whistling a cheery tune as he awaited life's next turn, pausing only a moment to incline his head in silent prayer to whatever deity had allowed him to save the girl. Then he continued onwards, his eyes always scanning and trying to make sense of what he saw.

So different from the mountain!

OOC: AND there we are! I shall be losing Deathblow soon, as mentioned before, as it is way too strong. I did want to hold onto it for this scene, as this was just something that really struck a chord in me as I thought of it.

The brisk wind which seemed to dwell within the confines of the Northern Continent seemed to linger that day. Such would be unbearable for a normal passerby, however this young man thrived on such weather. Having been exposed to this type of weather for all of his life, Escaleon used this setting to snowboard everyday. Though he was a bit modest about it, the twenty one year old had grown quite skilled at the sport. Learning everything there was to know about it whilst being fit allowed him to do so.

Being born in such an isolated area cut Leon off from most of society. Though this forced him to be somewhat unsociable, this cut off most distractions from his passion. Leon couldn’t explain the thrill he got from snowboarding, living on the edge and innovating was something he had grown fond of. Creation played a big part in snowboarding, performing what hadn’t been thought of yet, whilst having fun in the process. The daredevil let no day pass him by, he always lived everyday to the fullest.

Standing atop that slope everyday made him feel bigger than he really was. That feeling could never be requited by anything else. Holding his snowboard with a firm grasp let him know he was still alive, he held it as if it were an extension of his own soul. Gazing down the hill one last time, he dropped the snowboard, attached his feet to it and readied himself. Taking a deep breath, he jumped down as to ascend to a new adventure.

Leon instantly awoke drenched in a cold sweat, it seemed he was dreaming of his home once more. Ever since he made Edge his temporary home, things hadn't been the same. Constantly thinking about the members of Shin-RA who killed his parents left him cold and bitter each night. He had gotten a room at one of the hotels two days ago and hadn't been out much since. Leon was a bit of an anti-socialist so making friends was rather awkward for him.

Leaning out of bed he rubbed his eyes and decided to start the day. Casually getting dressed, he tried to wash away the memories of which plagued him recently. Just as he was dressed, he let out a huge sigh and exited his room. Equipped with his Zanbatou which lay hidden within his snowboard, he felt prepared for any situation.

According to those that chose to dwell within Edge, he gathered that Midgar wasn't too far away. He wasn't as informed on the matters involving Midgar since his parents were murdered, so he planned on finding out today. This would have been done much earlier, however after such a long, strenuous trip, he felt it only necessary to rest up and get his energy back. However, Escaleon had more than enough R&R at this point and today was the day in which he would visit Midgar, first for questioning, of course. Taking one step out of bed, Leon chose to freshen himself up with a shower and then he'd set out.

After having done so, he gathered his belongings and stepped outside. Given that he wasn't learned on the direction in which Midgar was located, he decided to ask around. Leon spotted a man nearby, looking to parallel that of a mechanic.

"Hi, you wouldn't happen to know which direction Midgar is in, do you?" Leon inquired sincerely.

"Midgar? Oh yeah, sure. I run shipments there time and again. I'd say its about North, North-West."

"Thank you." Leon stated as he began walking out of town in the proper direction. He only did take a few steps further when he heard the same voice call out once more.

"Hey! You don't plan on walkin' that far, do ya? I'd be willin' to take ya there if ya had some Gil. I'd do it fer free but gas isn't cheap these days, ya know? Plus, I don't run another shipment til next week. My goin' price is fifty Gil."

Leon wasn't in the position to turn down such an offer, although he barely had any Gil to his name. "Sure." He promptly responded after pulling the proper amount of coins out of a satchel. The mechanic examined the coins and then nodded his head in agreement as he approached his truck. Leon seated himself in the passenger seat and the two proceeded toward Midgar.

*time skip*

Midgar was within view now as Leon's heart skipped a few beats. The driver glanced over at him a few times, examining his facial features and thought to remark.

"Uh, what business ya got planned here? If ya don't mind my askin'."

Obviously, Leon couldn't tell the truth. For all he knew, the guy would make matters worse for him when they arrived.

"I'm visiting someone I haven't seen in a long time, that's all." He succinctly stated, not necessarily lieing.

"Hm, if ya say so." He responded. His tone didn't necessarily tell Leon that he believed any bit of it, but as long as Leon kept his mouth shut regarding his true intentions, everything would be fine. As the driver parked on the outskirts, Escaleon hopped out of the truck and held his hand up as a sign of gratitude. Finally, after years of training and planning, Leon was now within Midgar. His initial thought was to ask around town, though he'd probably find more answers at a pub.

Leon wasn't sure of how long this would take, but he was hard pressed to find answers and eventually, revenge for what was done to his family.

Rufus
Newly rebuilt Shinra HQ

"What the HELL do you mean there are reports of soldiers mugging people in the streets for materia, is what we've supplied them with ourselves not enough?"

A group of Rufus' most loyal troops were congregated in the main office of the new building. The Turks, his best armed, and most skilled sodiers, as well as his most efficient and reliable informants.

He looked across the assembled men and women, wondering how they had allowed the soldiers under their command to run riot. After the events of five years ago, Shinra was a name that was unpopular enough as it was amongst the pepole, and now he had this issue to deal with.

"You know that we are not trying to acheive the same as we were last time. Yes, we are looking for a powerful weapon again, possibly even more powerful than we were looking for last time, but we are trying to attain it without drawing unwanted attention to ourselves. Now go and deal with those who were causing trouble, and ensure it doesn't happen again. Now then Reno, Rude, were going to visit an old friend."

Robert
Cosmo Canyon
************

Another long day behind the counter. Robert had just opened the store up for the day, and already he felt there would be little in the way of business. Still, what he sold was essential, especially in a pinch. There were still poisonous snakes and such around, and every now and then some adventurous or unlearned kid would go and either try and fight one or play with one, and they'd be rushed in for a shot of antidote. But there was at least a few fun people to liven the place up.

And no sooner did he think about said few fun people did he feel two paws pounce on the back of his leg. Robert chuckled and looked back to his four-legged friend. "Well, good morning to you too, Django." He spoke to the grey-furred pup. Django was the same species as Nanaki, but far younger.

Things had been quite ironic over the past several years. Back when he was still in SOLDIER, he was the one tasked by Shin-Ra to capture Nanaki, unaware of what they had planned for the intelligent beast, back before Genesis, Angeal, Sephiroth and Zack defected. He himself followed suit soon after learning about the Sector 5 plate incident.

It surprisingly didn't take much to be welcomed into Cosmo Canyon by the elder, despite what he had done. His life now was dedicated to atonement for all he had done while in SOLDIER. While he could easily have said that he was being tricked and lied to by his superiors, which he indeed was, he decided to take full responsibility for not only his actions, but the actions of those who served under him at the time.

His identity as a former SOLDIER 2nd class was a tightly-held secret by those who knew. He was remaking his life, a clean start from a very dirty past. Robert took a toy from one of the shelves and tossed it up for Django to play with.

Still, his mind was uneasy. There were still rumors of Shin-Ra activity, and he had not heard back from his spies, former guards that worked for Shin-Ra and later defected at some point and time. He had been keeping tabs on Rufus, but more than likely some might have been found out.

"I'm probably going to head to Midgar for a little while Django." Robert commented. Django bounced around and smiled up to Robert. "Can I come?" he asked eagerly.

Robert chuckled a bit. "Only if Nanaki says it's alright. Besides, I'm not sure I can bring you with me if he comes, The passenger seat on my motorbike only fits one. But we'll see." Robert spoke with a smile.

Watching the wolves around him, Cloud kept his guard up, watching for them to act which didn't take long. Three of them lunged at him from seperate directions with Cloud reacting with an overhead hack through the first, followed by a 360 slash and finishing with an underhand swipe. As he was ready to finish off the rest, an unfamiliar face appeared, attacking one of the wolves. He was about to ask who this strange being was, his actions didn't indicate an enemy, at least not yet.

As the final wolf tried to leap at him from behind he leapt above it and brought his blade crashing down on it, with this action performed all of the monsters were dealt with.

With a simple "... Thanks" Cloud returned to his bike and sped off to the Seventh Heaven, friend or foe he didn't have time to deal with strangers, though the strange race puzzled him. Aside from Nanaki he knew of no intelligent Beast-races, that wasn't important right now though, as he soon reached Seventh Heaven and turned off the engine.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Eying up his inhuman opponent, Alaric attempted a strong lunge which the being easily parried and countered with a heavy slam of it's blade. Even though it was more skilled it's attacks bore no weight making it easy for Alaric to force off. His opponent easily kept balance from the repulsion as it charged it's blade with the same blue energy that made up it's body and released it in an energy blade. Alaric managed to dodge roll to the side as his opponent struck down which Alaric fended off with a strong lunge.

As his opponent melted away as though it never existed at all, Alaric rose to his feet, surprised at his own strength as he sheathed his sword. Feeling the malevolent presence disappear he continued to walk through what little remained of Midgar, he expected to see opportunist thieves, grave robbers and maybe the occasional bounty hunter and yet he found nothing. Not even the slightest trace of human life could be felt here...

Red
en route to Midgar.
===============

Nanaki had left the cozy confines of Cosmo early that morning without telling anyone. It wasn't an uncommon occurrence for him to leave without fanfare, as he had a tendency to wander, and the other citizens of the Canyon knew that. So he came and went as he pleased, and his comings and goings were given little pause, and rarely a second glance.

His destination this morning was Midgar. He had often traveled to the metropolis over the past several years, for reasons both personal and business-related. He visited friends who remained in the city, and was often called to help perform some... operations... in some of the less visible areas.

But this trip was a blend of the two. He had been called to the city of Midgar by an old friend, one he had not seen in several months. As such, he was eager to get going on his trip. Hence the lack of informing anyone about his departure. But the old friend had told him some disturbing things. Crime, always a problem in the big city, had seen an alarming rise in recent weeks. And most of the crime had centered around materia. Moreover, there were rumors of a resurgence of ShinRa activity in some sectors.

It was nearly noon when Red made it to Midgar. Hungry, he made his way to a familiar setting: 7th Heaven. Taking a bit of a nostalgic breath, Red pawed open the front door, and stepped in, unsure of what he would find.

(OoC: Don't know anything of drinks, including how they are made/prepared, nor do I care to, so I have to try be evasive of those details, hope that doesn't bother anyone too much.)

Tifa Lockhart
Midgar - Seventh Heaven

After having finished making up a drink for the customer, Zach, Tifa placed it in front of him, then accepted the hand-shake offered, giving a little hand-shake as she started to reply to his apology for messing the place up.

"Don't worry about it, Zach, pleasure to meet you." Tifa said, returning a little smile herself. "The way things have been lately, I didn't know if I would even get any customers in here today, so it has been a slow day, it actually is nice just to have a customer come in to serve a drink, and talk to a bit to pass some time."

She proceeded to look outside some, since the one customer presently in the building had been served a drink. After a short time, the door started to swing open, then Nanaki came through the doorway entering into the Seventh Heaven.

"Oh, its you. Hi Nanaki." Tifa greeted, glad to see a familiar face, then continuing on to add "This customer here came in from the rain a short time ago, so it may still be a little wet on the floor from that, so watch your step, okay?"

Tifa felt somewhat bad that he might end up getting his paws wet because she never got around to taking care of the puddle Zach's clothes left near the entrance in particular, not that there had been very much time to get around to it.

Crimson Wolf
...Near Midgar...

Crimson Wolf, though wondering what Cloud had thought of him, knowing of that one friend of his that was also a furry, intelligent animal capable of speech, a quadruped one with fire at the tip of his tail.

"Whatever he may see me as, I cannot let this encounter, and his approach, or rather departure from it, affect my goal, I must continue to Midgar as settled, I should hope he would not think I am following him, I just happen to have had the same destination, it would seem..."

He started off towards Midgar again, covering the rest of the distance, then arriving at a building up ahead with a familiar name. Seventh Heaven... I've heard of the place, Tifa should be inside, one of Cloud's friends that assisted him in protecting the Planet from a great threat... he thought.

But as he got close, he acknowledged that Cloud himself was just outside, on his Fenrir, the engine appearing to be shut down on it. "Hm, Cloud, so you are here too..." he said, looking to the spiky haired swordsman.

"I travel much of the time, and have just come from a ways off, from Cosmo Canyon to be specific. But no, I have never met the friend of yours whose hometown is there, I merely had set my current destination as Midgar because over time seems to be a rather troubled place... I seek to protect the Planet from the threats to it, so I thought this to be a good place to start..."

He looked to the building's entrance, then back to Cloud, crossing his arms casually before adding "The name is Crimson Wolf. and am, as stated earlier, not a foe, and I would advise you to not just think of me as another stranger to deal with... If you wish, I am open to answer some questions you may have, now that we are in a safe area and can speak freely..."

Ayumi Aiko
Front Gate of Midgar

Ayumi noticed that the huge gateway was closed and had to think for a second how to enter. She slammed on the gate only once to see if anyone would respond. oddly she did not see a lot of lights flickering even when it was night at the time. She also avoided shouting or yelling in case she might attract fiends or mugglers and the sorts.

She climbed on Ohri-Jin (mount) and made Ohri-Jin run the opposite direction. She then made Ohri-Jin turn around and made him run as fast as he could.

"Hiyah" She whispered.

Ohri-Jin leaped over the gate and as he landed, Ayumi held the handles very tightly. Ayumi looked around and was surprised as she did not see one person in sight. She summoned Ohri-Jin back in her materia.

Ayumi walked for about 5 minutes till she saw a distant light at the end of the road. Still very cautious about her surroundings she had her Katana in hand just in case for any mugglers.

She hears strange things around her, but because its so silent she figured it must be her nerves and imagination of some sort.

She finally arrived at the building which had lights on inside. This building is one of the few buildings that shows signs of life, so she figured this would be the place to ask questions or get updated on the current situation.

More important she needed a place to sleep.

She noticed a big sign that said "Seventh Heaven"

"Tsk...Great, how ironic" she mumbles..

Robert
Cosmo Canyon -> Midgar
********************

"If you're waiting on Nanaki, he left early this morning." one of the elders spoke as he came into the store. Robert blinked a bit and then shook his head. "Great. Guess he didn't want to wait. Now what am I gonna do with Django here?" Robert said.

"Take me with you, of course!" the little pup said, bouncing up and down. The elder looked at Django and shook his head. "No. Nanaki is your caretaker, and since he's not here to tell you whether you can go or not, it falls on me, and I say you need to stay here. You've still got a lot of training to do."

"But..." Django began to rebuke, but Robert placed his hand on top of Django's head, petting him. "It's alright. Maybe next time, ok kiddo?" Robert said as he knelt down in front of Django. The pup gave a nod. "Alright, but you'd better keep your promise."

Robert left the store in the care of the elder and headed down to his garage. Hopping onto his motorbike with passenger bucket and turning over the engine, Robert headed off to Midgar.

The trip took a few hours, especially the path through the mountains, but eventually he arrived at the mega city of Midgar. There were only a few places he could think of that Nanaki would head to. One place popped into mind. One of Nanaki's friends owned a bar in sector 7.

After a about ten minutes of driving through the sectors under the rebuilt plates, the former SOLDIER 2nd Class came up to Tifa's 7th Heaven. After dismounting, Robert headed into the bar, and there was Mr. Impatient. "You know, it's rather rude to head off and not tell anyone. I could have given ya a lift, Nanaki." Robert spoke as he headed over to the bar.

Tifa Lockhart
Midgar - Seventh Heaven

Another...customer? Regardless, another person entered the Seventh Heaven, this person as he approached the bar, spoke to Nanaki giving him some attitude, saying it was rude to head off without telling anyone.

Tifa of course would assume where he was heading off from would have been Cosmo Canyon. She didn't know the man, but decided to comment anyway. "Don't be too hard on Nanaki, maybe he wanted to travel on foot for the exercise, or just head out on his own."

Even though she figured the man's comment probably wouldn't really bother Nanaki much if at all, she still was protective of him. "Well, would you like something to drink?" she asked, setting her hands down on the counter as she did before, then awaiting the stranger's answer.

Rufus
Sector 7 Slums
---------------

The journey had only been a short one, as the train's around Midgar's central colmmumn had been back up and running for many months now. As the train he had stepped off of only seconds before swept out of the station, his long, white cloak flowed out to the side, in the draft created.

"It has been a long time since I was last here" He thought to himself. Ensuring his pistol was securely stowed away under his coat, he set off, after all the last thing he wanted to do was attract attention from the wrong kind of people.

He had a certain destination in mind, somewhere he had seen before, but enver ventured within, as many years ago it had been rumoured to be the home of a secret "terrorist" organisation working to bring down his father's company. Now however, he was going to offer them a deal, perhaps even a deal they could not refuse. After all, he needed their help to find such a rare item, and he thought that perhaps with the trouble going on in the surrounding areas he might have somethign he could offer them.

Walking past the place where the old pillar that held up the Sector 7 plate he looked up at the newly rebuilt plate above. 5 years on and the slums were still exactly that, slums. Nothing had really changed in Midgar. The mayor may now have most of the power, but he ran the city no differently to how Shinra had back then.

He reached the bar he had been aiming for only a few moments later, with both Reno and Rude close behind him, he pushed the door open and took a few steps inside.

Zach Rees
Midgar - Seventh Heaven

The hospitable Tifa was now busy talking to her new customers, leaving Zach to drink his drink and gather his thoughts. It had been a manic period in the young man's life. A manic period which had led him to a city rich in history, and filled with mystery.

Considering Zach had been unable to find anyone around Midgar upon arrival, the bar was now beginning to fill. There were certainly some characters.
It was odd. Some people clearly knew each other, whilst others were obvious strangers; Zach being one of the latter.

He held the cold glass between both hands, staring into the bubbles that were floating to the surface. It seemed that Zach had become over tired, so to speak, and was now more awake than ever.

As time went by, Zach couldn't help but think life had dealt him a dud hand. Brother and Father gone. Adopted family gone. Home, gone.

*Where do I go from here? I thought I'd know what to do when I got here, but.....Nothing.*

Zach was his own worst enemy when left alone with his thoughts, and this time was no different.

He slowly sipped at his drink until the end before placing it down on the hardwood surface.
It was time to rest up and restore his sanity.
Leaving some gil on the bar, with a small tip, Zach threw on his jacket and turned to face the door.

Stood between the exit and Zach were three strangely familiar figures; he couldn't quite put his finger on where he knew them from. One guy was tall, wore shades and was completely bald. Another, has spiked red hair and an air of arrogance. The last guy was clearly in charge. Again, tall and dressed in a long white coat.

The atmosphere seemed to change. It was tense all of a sudden.

*How do I know these guys? Think, Zach!*

Standing there, puzzled, Zach couldn't help but ponder whether the three mystery people were here to cause trouble or not. Surely it would only be a matter of time before he found out.

"Oh, its you. Hi Nanaki. This customer here came in from the rain a short time ago, so it may still be a little wet on the floor from that, so watch your step, okay?"

"I must have gotten lucky then. I missed all the rain." Nanaki made his way up to the bar, slid two stools together and leapt up, rather precariously, to sit. He was on the verge of asking Tifa how she had been over the last few months, when he heard the door open behind him. The distinctive footfall allowed Red to determine who the entrant was without so much as a glance over his shoulder.

"You know, it's rather rude to head off and not tell anyone. I could have given ya a lift, Nanaki."

A slight grin creased Red's muzzle. He was about to respond before Tifa chimed in.

"Don't be too hard on Nanaki, maybe he wanted to travel on foot for the exercise, or just head out on his own."

Red raised a paw to quell any further protestations from Tifa, before she returned to good service mode and asked Robert if he had an order to place.

Robert smiled and gave a nod to the young lady. So, she knew Nanaki. She must be one of his allies that he had spoken of to others. "Sorry. I'll just have a milk." Robert spoke before he took a seat at the bar. "By the way, Django says hi, and he's pretty much forced me to take him here next time I come this way." Robert jested to Nanaki. Of course he wasn't forced, but he always had a hard time saying no to th pup. Still, coming here to rag on Red wasn't his prime objective.

However, three lone figures seemed to catch his attention. They 'felt' out of place to him. "I just came here to see a few old friends of mine. Haven't heard from them in a while, and with the recent stories of materia theft and crimes in the area, I just wanted to make sure they were alright." Robert said vaguely. Something about the three newcomers gave the former 2nd Class a bad vibe. Still, he wasn't one to openly share information without knowing about those around him. If he mentioned his operatives' names and those three were related in some way to the former Shin-Ra empire, still loyal, he might blow their cover providing they haven't been discovered yet.
