Final Fantasy VII Remake

If they remade it, I wish they'd put it on PSP. Having to chase a series around like a chicken with it's head cut off because it's on another console is a real bitch.

FFVII looks really crap on my TV. It was ok on my smaller one til I knocked it over and smashed it so I would really love to see it made with newer graphics just so I can play it again

To Bambi: the original graphics of Final Fantasy VII will look very outdated on an TV. The same is true for Final Fantasy VIII and IX. The original graphics will be a distraction for next-generation gamers. Even the graphics of Final Fantasy X and XII look outdated if played on an HDTV.

To Shyne: I am 28 years old and the average age of a US gamer is 30-something. By 2017, video games will become a fully legimitate form entertainment media, just like motion pictures, and they will become more accessible. The video game controversy will become a thing of the past. 2017 will not be like 2007 or 2008. Today's children will be tomorrow's teenagers or young adults. Most of today's young gamers will continue playing as adults at that time. I suggest you remain a bachelor and continue gaming, for falling in love can be a pain.

that means that its your fault not the game's :wacky:

but i think im going to have to agree with tedious, although it pains me to say it, i think that the graphics and music have to be updated.

If they do make it for PS3, there will be sales boosts....this is one game that I will buy a PS3 for.
But...I still don't believe this...I mean SE did say that they weren't going to do anything else that involved FFVII, they have damaged it too much...maybe they might take their own word back?
Their little bits and pieces of it....just keep getting to me, bastards v.v

Where did you hear that they weren't going to do anything else with it? As far as I know, they have said that they are planning on continuing the FF7 compilation for another 10 years.

The thread Final Fantasy VII is confirmed it's coming for the PS3 Network has been merged with the FFVII remake thread. That thread was going on the topic of a FFVII remake anyways.

Actually, it was my cats fault for knocking a plant pot off the windowsil which meant I had to move my chair out of the way which knocked my tv over >>

Anyway, I agree with your HD comment. Why would a remake need to be in HD? Just improved graphics is enough. I cant say I have ever noticed a diffence with HD and normal pictures. I just want it prettied up so it doesn't look quite so blocky on my TV
I still think that the most important thing to fix is the bloody translation though, better graphics would just be a bonus

X & XII both look fine on my tv, even VIII looks fine apart from the dodgy looking characters but they have always been an issue for me anyway lol

New information about the Final Fantasy VII reamke

I searched on the internet for hours and I found this:
This information is from 2008.
http://thegamingsource.blogspot.com/2008/02/final-fantasy-vii-remake-for-ps3.html

This confirms that something is happening. Only that "Hajime Tabata" said that if the other team developers could free themselves more then there would be a better chance that this will happen.

And if you got any bad comments to say just keep it to yourself.

DreamingOfAFantasy, I've merged your thread with the FFVII Remake thread. If you want to post links or have any comments about the FFVII remake then post it here. This is the third time it has happened. I'm giving you a warning for now.

Yet again, you're link is about a POSSIBILITY of a FFVII remake.
The possibility of a remake of Final Fantasy VII on PS3 could grow, if the members of the original team developers, such as Kitase or Nomura, could free themselves, they might be able to pursue the project.

That is NOT a confirmation. That article is just saying that there could be a chance that there will be a FFVII remake. Please read these things closely before you jump to conclusions.

I'd love a remake for PS3 or XBOX360 (I only say that because I don't own a PS3, but those two systems have the best graphics). I just wouldn't want them to change it too much. Sometimes it seems like Gamers should be the directors, ya know. If it ain't broke, don't fix it and only those who have enjoyed it will know what that means when it comes to great series'. If they can do a remake and keep it good, then I'd love it nearly to death. If they fuck up, though, I'd probably never buy another FF game. I'd lose all trust and reliability.

I'd love to see a decently made FF7 Remake. I wouldn't be too bothered if they added content, as long as it was optional and didn't take away from the main game. An even better idea would be a PS3 game where they sorta combined CC, FF7 and AC in one fun little game :D

Though that has 0 chance of ever existing, so an FF7 remake is fine by me :P

I'd just love to see all the weapons and summons and stuff with new graphics, they'd look amazing!

Can anyone actually imagine what it would take to make FFVII worth it on the PS3? It would require a change in much of its already solid mechanics.

I think back to how chastized Devil May Cry 4 was for not bringing its game up and offering something new to the table, and I'd hate to see FFVII get hit with a setback like the crippling blow WA recieved when it was remade as Alter Code F.

If it weren't for the space requirments on the UMD's I'd say put it on a platform that can really take it places : the psp.

Crisis Core was beautiful on the PSP, so it definatly can handle it!

This one has to do with the end credits of FF: CC so if you'd rather play the game and experience the sheer joy I felt at seeing this scene stop reading...

At the very end of the credits the screen goes blank and after a few seconds it comes back up with Cloud on the train to Midgar he says a line 'Cloud Strife, ex - soilder 1rst class' then up comes a screen that says 'to be continued in FF: VII'. It's food for thought anyway. I just remember getting major butterflies...so if I'm grasping at straws here, at least I was trying to sheild you from missing that feeling heh.

DMC 4 was chastised? I never knew. I enjoy DMC 4 anyway, and everyone's calling for a remake anyway. It's not like they're asking for anything new, either, so you know... It'd probably work.

A remake would only work if they didn't change anything. People want FFVII with kick ass graphics, while keeping everything that made the game a classic in the first place. I don't think they would get backlash for not changing any of the key elements.

You know what wouldn't hurt though? More mini-games in the Golden Saucer. I know they had loads, but meh, I'm a sucker for mini-games.

a remake will be pointless except to squeeze another bit of money from the wilting ff7 franchise. if they do remake it you can guarentee that the game WILL be a change from the original. the main story will be the same, but with new or different sidequests. i realise that people would love 'ff7-with good graphics', but i just can't see why the fans of this series would see it butchered like it has been.

final fantasy 7 was a classic, it should have been left there. i mean imagine oliver stone saying, 'yeah, platoon was good and had a good ending, but i won't be happy until i make as much money from this as i can. i know, i'll make a remake with todays actors.'

imagine how good back to the future or Rocky would be without the sequels.

sorry if i rambled on at time, but i was making this up on the spot
