I lack a Vita, so the PS3 version is for me.

You're not going to get as much out of the Vita as you will the PS3.
Higher definition graphics and music pump out better on a console and big screen.

The ability for on the go gameplay is the other side of the coin though. It's more of a "which is better suited to my situation" deal.
If you're going for the vita, I doubt you'll be looking for the top-notch display and audio.

the vita version is closer to the ps3 version than you think, it honestly look almost the same, the only major issue is the vita version suffers from dropped frames far more often than it's PS3 brother
also, vita = portability, you know how long i dreamt for FFX on a portable system, and on friday it happening with better graphics and a sexy remastered ost, so yeah.
I'm getting both anyway, but only because I want that dam artbook, my love for game artbooks are gonna kill me. and as you know, no pre-order bonus for the vita version. Also, did you guys forget, CROSS SAVE, at home, big screen, at uni when meant to be doing work? SMALL SCREEN!

I just picked it up, shame i wont be able to play it for quite sometime (playing TOS hd atm 
). however i did end up paying more than i thought because of the strategy guide which i prolly didnt need, but i never played all of x-2 so i figured why not.

Tried swapping to Vita but Game dispatched the ps3 version anyway

You should be able to swap the game back to Game for full price. There's no harm in trying anyways

Yeah, I was considering that, but chances are I'd get annoyed with laying on my stomach and back for hours on end playing, lol. I'd prefer to have a larger screen and comfortable seating. If I change my mind for whatever reason, I guess I can always pick up the Vita version in a few months. Maybe It'll be a little cheaper by then? it's a FF game, so I'm not sure.

Yeah I get that. But are you realistically gonna get it twice? I'm not sure I will.. Not unless I planned to go away or anything if I stick with the ps3 version and wanna get the vita version to take away with me..
Realistically, no, I don't think I'll change my mind and decide that it'd be great to have both. But it's always an option, lol. So long as I can cross-save, then it'd be fine.

Exactly. this is my thinking. Do I risk going all the way to the shop for them to not allow me to trade it in early or just stuck with the PS3 version.
Could you call Game and ask them? (Was it Game?) I mean, it might save you a trip at least if you can get an answer out of them.
I got mine out of the catelogue. It's meant to arrive on Friday. Some time between 8am and 10pm. They usually come around lunchtime when I order from them. I hope it doesn't arrive at ten to ten at night or something...

I just got home and have been trying to find an answer on the PSN availability. You can download the game for Vita on PSN but you can't download the PS3 version yet. People are saying it will be on there as it's supposed to be. It might not appear till tomorrow.
