Final Fantasy XV made by SquareEnix's new LA division? [11/4]

I must say some of the replies in this thread disgust me. If you don't like western games that's fine but western developers certainly aren't the scum of the earth or a justified reason to become violent. Now with that said, as much as I would like to see a Final Fantasy with some WRPG elements I doubt Square Enix would ever take it "that" far. I seriously doubt the game they're working on with an American developer has anything to do with their flagship title, and if it does I doubt they would allow them to make any drastic changes to the franchise. It could just be a new original title so Square Enix has some video games the west can look forward to playing.

Meh. I'm not surprised and I'm also completely indifferent to this situation. Square have disappointed me time and time again that I have no expectation for this game whatsoever, regardless whether or not it's Final Fantasy XV.

Also a game is a game to me. I don't care if it's made by Americans, Japanese, British, Canadians, French, Russians or aliens from Outer Space. I don't care. The only thing I care about is if it has fun game play and a good story. The origins of it is irrelevant to me.

Japan make good games, they also make bad games.

America makes good games, they also make bad games.

You only think there's a difference.

well since they hav fucked up 13 and 14 who knows maybe its time for a change and square LA might surprise sum ppl

This is horrible news. I played and enjoyed the old Final Fantasy games because they felt like a fantasy and the anime like characters with blue and green hair and humans coming from the moon was what made the Final Fantasy series awesome. I don't want the Final Fantasy series turning into the new Oblivion or World of Warcraft. They're poplaur but I find them so boring and not really fun to play at all. If this is the future of the Final Fantasy series, I'm packing my bags, signing the divorce papers and ending my relationship with the Final Fantasy series.

Uhh, I usually just lurk, but I have to speak up for once.

Everyone complains about how Square has ruined Final Fantasy with recent installments, but you all go insane when there's a possibility change will be made? I don't understand this logic.

Well, that how people are SS Kuja, the thing about people is, they don't like change. True they bitch about how that things currently are bad, but they react badly when they want to make a change about it. To be honest, people are just confused over what they wanna do about it.

I think it's simply a case of the old way being preferrable, what made FF so fun and popular in the first place, ever since westernisation took place it's lost touch with the roots that made it great and handing over FF15 to the LA division the game's pretty much doomed to westernisation which i'd assume the majority of fans are not particularly keen on :hmmm:

Like others have said, I'm pretty sure it's a new game that they're talking about. Pretty much every FF fan thinks that when SE start talking about games it has to be about FF. But I think they're just looking to grab a slice of the Western market, as it's now a billion dollar market rivalling movies as the largest form of entertainment.

Oh dear. You think SE would take in feedback and return to the basics like everyone's asked, and to satisfy the sparkly battle needs by having some visually glorified ATB system.

As long as I get my world map, ATB battle system, captivating plot, and characters with interesting backstories and possibly silly haircuts then I'm fine.
