Final Fantasy Your Way

I'd bring all the characters together to fight all the villains. Sure, they'd be about 100 playable characters but it'd be interesting to see who'd win in the ultimate battle of good vs. evil. I'm actually working on an RP site with this storyline.

Wow...
I don't think I could handle playing around with 100-plus. I mean it would offer you a lot of variety in the ways of gameplay, but I'm not sure if I, personally, could handle it. Pretty interesting idea, though.

(anway, on to the main point...)
Another game idea popped up this week, and I've been playing around with it between classes. I promise that this time, I'll keep it short, and maybe even get to the game mechanics I'd want.

- The game takes place on a world called Terra which features a Lifestream, like the two Gaias and Spira. At the beginning of the game, nothing has major has happened to Terra to adversely affect the planet's survival or the survival of the creatures living on the planet (a different situation from some of the actual games). Something did happen in antiquity, but it took place millenias ago. Along this route, Terra is actually very green and fertile.
- Terra's Lifestream is guided by a single conciousness (which would be a first for the series) which has taken on the planet's name as her own.
(If you don't get it, think of how Aerith's soul continued to affect Gaia, even after her death...only, a lot more powerful).
- Crystals are featured prominently throughout the game. The summoned creatures, Eidolons, lie inside many of the crystals, protecting them as sleepless, immortal guardians. The first part of the game is concerned with your job to protect the crystals, instead of collecting them.
- Technology varies between regions and nations: the Summoner Tribe and many of the Crystal Guardians rely more on simple magi-tech and mechanical technology. Alternatively, there is one city that looks much like a mix of Zanarkand and Giruvegan, thanks to its advanced magi-tech.

- Achernar: Our main character, Achernar suffers from amnesia--his memory begins right around the time he was found. Years ago, he was found near a river by two kids, wearing an animal skin and nothing else. Despite showing a lack of talent in most arcane abilities, many who know say he exudes a great deal of magical energy, as evidenced by his glowing, electric green eyes.
Among the talents he does have, Achernar can speak almost any language and read any script, ancient or modern. He also has an odd sixth sense and can accurately detect the flow and judge the strength of the planet's Lifestream.
He is also one of the few people who can make contact with the Eidolons trapped inside both the elemental and "pure" Crystals.
- Eridani: Achernar's "sister" and the game's primary villain/antagonist. While her appearance is eerily similar to her brother's, she is nothing like Achernar, and seems to hold some kind of grudge against their mother. Part of her plan for revenge, it seems, is destroying the Crystals.

- The game revolves around Achernar and Eridani as our main character searches for his past while facing off against his sister. The first characters who join you are the two children who found Achernar, completely grown up and serving as full-time Crystal Guards.
- Throughout the story, the Achernar and his allies have to contend with a war between two of Terra's major super-powers. It's quickly discovered that Eridani, acting like Kuja of Final Fantasy IX, helped start the conflict, and is acting as a major catalyst for both sides. The way Eridani explains it is that the war has something to do with the measures Eridani has taken in order to ensure that her plan to take revenge against her mother is fool-proof.

- For this game, I'd borrow heavily from Final Fantasy X & X-2: Battles would be carried out with the CTB system, while you could actively participate with the field...even to a greater degree than before. In fact, the game may even borrow from Kingdom Hearts II at times.
- While Square-Enix is pushing for realistic graphics for each of its games, I'd take a step back and pursue something a little less...earthly. A good example would be Cloud or Leon in the Kingdom Hearts games (truthfully, the games aren't half bad).
- Coupled with the graphics, I'd also bring back the AMVs, where realistic graphics would actually be welcomed.

- There are five basic characters which join the party automatically, along with three others that you have to do a side-quest to obtain. In fact, there is one that you don't get until near the end of the game. This party size allows a great chance to completely flesh out each of the characters' backstories and allow them to grow.
- Each character has their own special limit break, called a Crystal Intercession, Intercession for short, except for two characters. One is Achernar, and the other is one of the optional characters, both of whom have something close to Final Fantasy IX's Trance available to them.
This ability is to "Trance" is tied into Achernar's true identity.
- The Eidolons are available during the game, but not because a Summoner joins Achernar's group. Instead, Achernar develops the ability to manifest the Eidolons by transforming into them (and, yes, that includes Shiva). After transforming the party moves away form Achernar, as Yuna's Guardians do when she summons, and Achernar subsequently fights alone

finally I can post my idea here and square enix will see it, then I'll work for them!

My idea came from watching FFVII: AC.
You know the Cloud vs. Sephiroth fight? Well I got an idea of a singleplayer/multiplayer game when I saw that(it would have to be next gen, cause it's going to be possible to destroy parts of buildings and all that stuff you see in the movie).

It would take place in the same world as FF VII. You can create your own character(choose hairstyle, hair color, weapon and fighting style, etc etc.)

It would not be a turnbased game, it would be real time fighting(the fighting would basically look like the way it does in FF VII: AC :P ).
You would be running around freely in the world, buy equipment and increase your skills. You can jump in the game, the more you increase your skills, the higher you can jump(max hight would be about the same as the cloud vs. sephiroth fight).

Even though the game would be multilayer and single player, the game play would be about the same. Just that in the online world you can create clans(evil, good or something in the middle ;P), you can fight pvp or pve. The online world would have cut-scenes and cinematic just as the other FF games. So you wouldn't lose the FF feeling and start to think it's a freaking boring mmo just like everything else.

You can get vehicles and chocobos( :D ). You can even get your own airship thing y to fly around with your clan in.

There would be several unique npc's(also in the online world) that live their own lives and care about their own backs, for example there could be a villain like Sephiroth that one day decides to take over the world or some bullsh*t :P. Even better you would be able to become a villain like that yourself. You could also meet known FF VII characters in the game, like one day bump into Reno and Rude doing their business(maybe join them if your good enough). You would also expect to see characters like Cloud and Tifa fighting against villains and going on adventures.

The quest system would be very unique, you wont just talk to a guy and then suddenly your running around trying to kill a boar, picking up groceries or some sh*t. Quests or adventures would kind of be created by yourself depending on the current situation in the world. And it would be epic, FF music suddenly appearing in certain situations. Of course cut-scenes would happen in quests(like the Aerith death cut-scene), but your created characters would be in them instead of known FF characters. In case you misunderstood me, I'm not saying you would suddenly be killed by sephiroth from behind. There would not be any remake kind of quests, only new fresh ideas and adventures.

Oh and there wont be any cloud haircuts in the game(so there wont be 100 clouds running around feeling unique xD). The haircuts would give a FF feeling though.

The game would also be exclusive for the Ps3 of course ;)

What do you think? could it be a good game?

Heres mine!

STORY
This will be brief. A young pirate called Flint arrives with his captain at a royal castle. Later that night, the princess of that castle kidnaps him and runs away with him. The king is furious and hires an assassin to kill Flint, thinking Flint kidnapped his daughter, Abigail. Little does he know, this assassin is after the princess' pendant which contains a powerful summon. When he finally gets hold of this pendant, Abigail knows that she must go and stop this Assassin, Damien from finding all the summons and destroying the world.

This is VERY brief, i might make a full one and post it up.

CHARACTERS

Flint - Pirate

Abigail - Princess/Summoner

Michael - Hunter

Jak - Thief

Toby - Captain

Cornelius - Black Mage

Ebony - White Mage

Anthony - Assassin

Lance - Royal Dragoon Knight

Cain - Unknown

GeGe - Tour Guide

Roddy - Trickster

Curtis - Samurai Knight

Keely - Journalist

Zed - Unknown

GAMEPLAY
Battles would be like Star Ocean. The map system would be like the older FF games. You could have 4 on your team at one time, but you can switch like in X. It would be in an era sorta like IX.

XD, I'm planning on writing an FF story soon. I've developed the female main character and the male lead, and a good story (beginning) but it's in development. And don't get me wrong this female main character is no weak brat: she can kick ass like no other. She dual-wields longswords, and is the best fighter in the world; she's got a reputation.

Who knows: maybe you'll all be playing it one day!

well, you can't compete with that

I know. :D She make musashi look like a pansy with 2 twigs.

I'm going to elaborate now. Her name is Crystal. Just Crystal. She has abandoned her last name (char. story....) She was 1 of 3 generals for a military branch of a company but left when she found out just what this company was really doing. (working on that part)

The male lead. Haven't gotten a real name for him yet. He's a warrior, naturally, whom's favored weapon is a spear. He's trying to make a name for himself and so he wears the color red, hoping that people will recognize him by this. Crystal meets him when she was hired to take down a group of 'assassins' that were trying to kill him. These assassins work for the company she left. Why they would want this newbie warrior dead, she doesn't know. So she decides to keep an eye on him. lol, this is how the party is just starting to be formed.

I would probably make sure that the main Villan is actually masculine (Unless it's a girl). The Feminine guy bosses have been driving me nuts. Sephiroth is a good example of a masculine boss.
