Font-size selection in User CP

I'm wondering if you could add a font-size selection in the User CP alongside the font-family and font-color selections. The reason is that I prefer to use Sylfaen, which by default is a smaller font than most others (as you can see). I have to make it around 15pt to match the size of other fonts.

This was an option at some forums I've posted at in the past. It would be much appreciated.

Actually, I can't see. Your post shows up in the standard font, so I guess Sylfaen is a very specialised font that isn't included by default in Windows 7.
 
No, I changed it back to the default because Sylfaen is too small to read comfortably because you don't have a font-size selection option. Sylfaen is a standard Windows font.
 
Having a font size selection would be nice though. Would this be possible? :hmmm:
 
I agree. I'm not sure how it works, but hey, some fonts look better when they're smaller. If such a feature could possibly be implemented, then it's a huge bonus.
 
it would be nice. or you could just have a selection of fonts rather than having the user type it in (a la the shoutbox). very specialised stuff but i think it would be handy! :jim:
 
I agree with what everyone has said.
More font sizes and more font colours would be good.

Tbh, I think this is a feature that'd be too easy to be abused. People would find a combination of font and max allowed size that made their posts look huge.

That being said, it is possible.
 
(For the record, only people on my Friends list can alert me via the @ feature)

Point is, as the OP described, font size 13px isn't equally big in every font ;)
 
So you don't trust the members of the forums to not abuse the size of their fonts?
 
Gee, I don't know why. I mean it's not like members abuse new features. Isn't that right, @Böb Dylän?
 
Aren't the moderators there for that, though? Keeping an eye on the site? I'm sure if people know a rule it will be held, a line might be crossed sometimes, but that's with everything.

Aka, don't go overboard with the size/ keep it realistic.

If it really doesn't work it can always be scrapped I do assume. Can't really let not wanting to risk "some" abusing it, for the ones treating it respectfully, I'd say.

/shrug It is what it is. More making an observation than anything, but.

Yes, that's what mods are here for, but if adding a new feature is simply going to create more issues than it would serve members on the site, it's not worth the headache. I'm not saying that's necessarily the case here, but I'm also not sure how many people would actually use the more exotic fonts necessitating the option of more font sizes.

I mean if they're added, great. If not, I think we'll be ok.

I'm fine with either, but... people do have a point with some fonts just being ridiculously tiny. I just don't think it should be disregarded without some thought is all. =]
 
Make the max default font size 15pt or 16pt. Problem solved. Headache avoided. Members happy.

There's nothing stopping me from making my text large and annoying as it is.
