It's clearly craziest anime out there! Its full of craziness action and fooly cooly! Haha it's by far the most meaningful anime out there and even though its a little old, its message speaks to many newcomers to the series. I can go on and on ranting and raving about how awesom fooly cooly is and how the anime, manga and novels have different endings to the and how short but sweet the series is, but, thats a little too much for me to do here!

I've recently began to look for the deeper meanings in the series and collect them. This series is said to be full of em. The ones I got are: SPOILER ALERT:Canti is supposed to be a representative of Naota when He's grown

Though it is no secret that the series is about growing up, alot of you on ffforums are kind of playful and immature youselves which is perfect for all of you.

Fooly Cooly is the worlds drug! Come on and try some!!!!!!!!!
 
I'm Judging from the reaction this thread has had that basically nobody has heard of Fooly Cooly. It's old and fun. If you've got a spare 3 hours then here's the whole series. I'll link them all here so that you'll have something to pass the time away when you're bored! Here goes! Oh! And yes, it's only 6 episodes!

it isn't that we haven't heard of it, it's just that it IS an old anime, and only 6 eps, which doesn't leave too much room for discussion after the fact...imo.

i do love the show. i didn't really catch any hidden meanings from it (and it's said the first ep of the show was concieved and written by drunk Gainax staff) but it was a crazy fun ride and i enjoyed it.
 
honestly i wouldn't have even known about this anime if it wasn't for my fiance. He forced me to watch it saying "it's awesome" and "so unique, you will be laughing throughout" now because i am the one in the relationship who usually finds the animes which suit what he is looking for and what i am. I seriously did not have much anticipation for this anime and really was not looking forward to watching it along with another of his choices which was shadow skills.

Hehe but after watching all of fooly cooly i have to say i really did enjoy it, it was one of the funniest animes i have seen in a long time. Very fun and comical and immature but i think we all have a inner child who wants to watch that sometimes. It was rather strange concidering how animation has come along but it is still a very enjoyable watch.

i always wondered why they did not continue it on or branch it off a little bit. Concidering how many people like FLCL id bet that it would raise more profit if they continued to branch out. But maybe that would lose there inspiration as there is only so much you can really do with this anime in the long run.

ahhhh FLCL is one of my very favorites

it is only 6 episodes because it was an OVA made to test out a new equipment at Gainax
 
I want to be able to be like Haruhara Haruko and run people over with a vespa and use a bass guitar to fight monsters :D

I enjoyed watching it, the story and characters were really interesting. I think 6 episodes are enough for it though, but if they do plan on making a new season of it eventually, then I wouldn't mind seeing that too.
 
One of the earlier anime that I saw...it was a fun little ride and I ended up going from there on to other series, typically finding room for a Gainax mindfuck every now and then (Panty & Stocking).
