Playstation Gameshark Question

I have an early version of the Gameshark, 2.2.

I've spent the last week searching for codes for the 99 item code only to fail on every account. I then read somewhere that it is not possible? Can anyone clarify this? Or is there a way to get around it.

Basically, the most common one works. I start the game with 99 of EVERY Weapon, Armor and accessory, but when I go to save it, it fails to read my memory card.

Again, can someone clarify this or perhaps point me in the direction on how to get this working?

I've only used the gameshark once in my life for FFIX. When I used that particular code, I never had that problem. I had 99 of everything, and I was always able to save correctly.

List all of the codes you are trying to use for the game. There are rare occasions when a code will "contradict" another and cause the game to fail in some shape or fashion.

I had used the gameshark several times for FFIX and such.... and i had 99 of everything... saved the game fine and booted up fine with no problems whatsoever.
