Glitches or sidestory items?

Just curious on what all of you think about these. These questions have gone back and forth between my roommates and I and we can't really come up with a whole lot of answers for each other. So, just wondering what everyone else says about them.

One, the tissues. WTF are those for? A description of "this one is a little rough" doesn't give much to go on... Two, the 1/35th soldiers. There aren't even 35 of them in the game to collect, are there? And three, anyone have a reason behind the Aeris-ghost-in-the-church thing? I've heard a lot of reasoning that it's supposed to just be a ghost of her, nothing else, but why is that "ghost" there when Aeris is still alive and in your party?

So yeah. What're peoples' thoughts on these?
 
After all these years no one can find a use of the little soldiers... but as for the tissue: I personally think that it's a gag item since they show up in CC as well.
 
I'm pretty sure the Ghost of Aerith is just a glitch.

I read somewhere (probably here) that the soldiers have no purpose, however if you buy a house in Costa del Sol, you can display them there. Apparently there are only twelve Soldiers and there is a rumour that the "1/35" is actually referring to the size of the soldiers (i.e 1/35th of the size of an actual soldier).

I have no idea what the tissues are for.
 
Actualy that masamune replica is an actual weapon just no one can equip it. I actualy have a code that equips it to cloud. It sounds like the masamune but it uses the buster sword model sind the actual sword was part of Sephiroth's model. I found this out messing with gameshark codes. Yeah the tissues and the 1/35 soldiers have no point. Though I'd like to point out you actualy can get 99 of the soldiers. As for the ghost it's either an easter egg or a glitch. I'm leaning more twards glitch.

Oh and here's a fun fact Young Cloud is actualy stronger then Adult Cloud. If you level them both to the same level Young Cloud gets better stat gains by leaps and bounds.

Hmm. That's kinda interesting they brought the tissue thing back in CC (I haven't had a chance to play it yet, sadly) and I never knew the thing about displaying the soldiers in the villa. I'll try that if I get around to buying the thing in my new game.
 
Its actually cool in a way you have these items that have no use at all. They keep you thinking that you are going to need them at some point. Of course when you find out they are absolutely uselss you feel kinda cheated, maybe if you could at least sell them for some gil or something. Also even if i could i wouldnt throw away 1/35 soldiers.
 
The tissues, are just like a 'booby' prize. Yuo lost so you get a tisue to wipe away the tears after you have a cry about it. Just a stab at humour

I've never got the things like the supersweeper (I THINK its called) a prize you get at the speed square, and that autograph you can get also theres a thread on the dsoldiers somewhere, but that was summat else I never understood, i think I got about 5

I liked the idea that the prizes you got would be stored in the mansion thingy in Costa, but alas, unless there's summat Im missing, they dont show up. I reckon some of these things are either just for your inventory, just like useless Key items...or they were meant for some other - incompleted purpose, like maybe a Dio like display ......

Who knows. There's alot of content that ended up getting cut out and never finished. I know of one cave in particular that's a hot topic about the stupid Aerith revival rumors.
 
I think I tried selling both of them one time. They only offered around 1-5 gil or something so I just kept them. XD

That cave rumor is just... special. Think I ran around for a couple hours trying to find that damned thing and found nothing. Think the only real place involved with Aeris' "revival" is the hack that can be done on the PC version that takes you into the "programmer's room" or something. It's essentially this black screen and Aeris is standing around and tells you about some production stuff and a couple of the scrapped side stories. Never made it, but I've heard it's a true rumor.
 
That might be the debug room which can also be accessed on the PS version with a gameshark.
 
Hmm. I wasn't even aware there was one for the PS. Think my roommate has a gameshark. Maybe I'll snatch it later and try to get there and see if it's the same.
 
Depending on the gameshark you have you might have to save in there to access the other rooms. The one I have is a disc so I can't really turn codes off without shuting down the system. There's a guide on gamefaqs that explains what you can do in the debug room. It also tells you what options to avoid so you don't freeze the game.
 
I was wandering about the soldiers too. Maye u can throw them at enemies in a battle. And maybe they will do more damage than the shinra soldiers do xD
 
XD I never even though of trying to throw them. Mostly 'cause the Throw materia is hardly ever in my group, but whatever. It'll be there now just to try that.
 
I don't think you can throw them. Items need one of two things to be thrown. A spell effect like bio and the likes or an attack power like on weapons.
