I started playing FF when FFVII was released and as such I have missed out on playing the sprite iterations of old. However, I decided to go back and play Final Fantasy VI and I'm loving it a lot. The story is pretty much your standard stuff which I knew was going to be the case anyway but is still very FF typical in that it is both epic and gripping. I absolutely love the music, it's beautiful and makes me enjoy the game that much more. I actually felt that, when just listening to the score, that FFVII seems very much inspired by the music of this title. I'm at the part where Terra has just transformed into that mysterious being and has left the party and I'm now heading out in search for her. As a last note, I must say that Kefka is quite the psychotic villain and is actually probably the most frightning in comparison to the latter FF villains. It would be cool to see an updated version of him, seeing his twisted facial expressions and hearing his chilling voice. That would be great. All-in-all, so far, so good.:D

I'm actually replaying this game myself, since it's been a good long while since i've played it.

For being on the SNES, the music is wonderful, and i just love the entire game. The characters, the locations, the loads of Espers.

Actually, i think one of the coolest things about this game is that it treats Espers as more than just random forces out there to be obtained and summoned. They actually have their own world and society and are given a bit of a backstory as opposed to just being there.

As for an updated version of Kefka...watch this guy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKFAbxuxfVM

I seriously think he's the real Kefka <.<

Glad you're back into it and enjoying it. The music is right on man; killer. One of the best compilations of sounds in the franchise. Story, enemy, characters, you name it. FFVI has many memorable and milestone moments. Gotta love 'em.

Final Fantasy VI is always a wonderful game to start again, it would have to be my second or third favorite in the series. It has a really great storyline along with a nice cast of characters. The sound track is beautiful! I love playing the game at times just to listen to some of the music. It is one of the most memorable games for me by far. =]

This is one of my Favorite FF games.
Just be sure to not level up too much until you find Terra, the only things that increase with level ups is HP/MP. Your stats will not increase until you get some extra help later on.

Happy Playing!
