Grammar.

I for one applaud proper grammar, i dont get pissed instantly but i really dont see the point in typing like a sugared up 11 year old either, its repulsive, atrocious idiotic and nothing we say will ever end it

Huh... I only short write (what's the technical term for it? I swear I know it...) on MSN, and that's usually to make smilies pop up. I text in full grammatically correct sentences and such.

I type out be right back, I think of better and creative ways of telling people I'm laughing, ie pissing my pants giggling, blah blah blah. Have you seen the books titled with that short style? "brb" "ttyl" I don't think I'll ever pick one up. -__- I would scribble on it what it's suppose to say.

I, admitting here, have a small problem with grammar when it comes to writing out papers and stories. I get going and the mistakes don't pop out obviously because my mind skips over them and corrects them for what they should be. No one is perfect when it comes to grammar. There will always be someone finding something that's not right. :P

You're definitely not the only one. I can't stand it, and I sometimes wish it would just stop. It's understandable to shorten a few words in text messaging, but this is a fucking keyboard where every letter is exactly where it's always been. When I'm in a rush, I don't bother with capitals, but I certainly have enough time to spell out the whole three-letter-word, 'you'. Especially since there's only one letter separating the word from the entire keyboard.
I also hate reading stuff like:
Your the best!
-My what?

Well, I'm a grammar Nazi, but I'd rather sound like a snob than a complete idiot.

i use proper grammar when necessary, which means academically and professionally. it's not really necessary - i think - as much on the internet when you're talking to your friends. generally, i'll try to at least make sense, but sometimes i don't capitalize things or maybe i'll forgo an apostrophe.

it is very important to me, however, as an English major and an education graduate student to come off as intelligent and well-versed in my native language. god forbid i send a letter home to the student's parents with a typo or a misspelled word. *facepalm*

I always try to use proper grammar. The only times I deviate is when I'm playing a video game or something, and commands need to be sent out rather quickly...though of course, I could just download vent.

While grammatical mistakes annoy me, I don't let them (or short hand writing) bother me. Of course, if I can't decipher it, then that's another story all together...

Though I would be insulted if I was sent a private message or e-mail written completely in short hand. I can't think of any excuses for such blasphemy at the moment.

If it's an instant chat or text, then I won't be all that harsh. However, if it's a post or a status on Facebook, then I'll be the resident grammar nazi. I need to keep my fellow teenagers in check with their grammar, because I'm apparently the only one that actually USES grammar (or spelling, among other things).

I'm mostly really good with grammar online. Like, if it's in a post like this, or I'm typing a story or something I will always try to use correct grammar. The only time I don't is when I'm on MSN or something, 'cause then I don't really bother with capital letters or anything. But I get really annoyed when people don't know the difference between you're and your, or there, their and they're. It's really not that hard. xD

I had grammar drilled into my head by my mother and my teachers waaay back when I was in Primary School, and I absolutely DETEST chatspeak in all its forms. It drives me up the wall, and I cannot and will not tolerate it in private conversations over MSN and the like. Even the standard "lol" and "brb" abbreviations make me twitch in annoyance.

A lot of people these days can touch-type, or at least type very quickly, and this shorthand laziness is just utterly unacceptable. It'd take maybe four or five more seconds to type something out completely. Its not too much to ask, is it? I start to get very short-tempered if people start shortening their sentences, and I've blocked more than one person on MSN for doing it excessively when they know it irritates me.

Of course, I'm not as irritable towards people whose first language isn't English, and mistakes in spelling and grammar are perfectly understandable, since nobody is perfect, etc etc. But deliberate use of chatspeak is something I just can't stand.

I ahve a thing with grammar,I hate when people kill it.Sure...I'm no better but I'd appreciate it if they'd put a bit more effort in checking it from time to time.Wouldn't hurt.
Well,I've come across another annoying way of typing:
"HoW ArE YoU DoInG?"
I really can't take this.It actually makes my eyes hurt.I'm kinda obsessed with grammar, but it's not that hard to learn.I can understand if the person making the mistakes is still learning the language, but what with those that have english as their 1st language?Maybe it irritates me that they don't respect it enough to learn it properly.
