Playstation Grand Theft Auto IV

I think this game is going to be a huge success for the PlayStation 3 and its fans. Damn I can't wait to get my hands on this game. I mean, GTA: SA was a huge success with realistic graphics, gameplay, features and many others so I wonder how GTAIV is gonna turn out into? :D
 
Going by the previous games you'll be able to change his appearance, don't see that'll be a big issue. Thing I'm praying to God they'll do is fix the goddamn blasted fighting/targeting system, it's barely moved on since GTAIII.

I wonder what kind of mods people will end up finding in this GTA (hot coffee anybody?) that will get the developers in trouble again. XD

I thought the Russian man was the best part of that trailer, it's about time we got another hardass for the main character, he may even be better than what's his name from III. :)
 
Yea, I gotta agree with that. Russians are hardass... and they'll probably keep on their trend of "dressing your gansta for success". lol So my guess is you'll start out as a Russian bum and work your way up to pretty-boy baddies. Works for me. Nothing says badass like a suit worth a grand.

I did see this trailer when it first came out. lol I showed it to Busta. He asked me if I was gonna make a topic, then I saw this one had just come up. lol The game looks fan-freaking-tastic. Can't wait to get my hands on it.
 
Ok, first things first, I really hope the series is finally evolving from GTA3's gameplay. Seriously, the last 4 iterations (Vice City, San Andreas, LC Stories, VC stories) have pretty much been GTA3 with more stuff. So now that it's IV, I hope it changes something.

Also, going on the whole IV, it never does say Grand Theft Auto. Just saying, doesn't really mean anything, but think about it. I mean, you dont see any killings or crime in the trailer at all. Think about how the old GTA trailers have been like. Explosions, fast music, bad-a**ery all around. Not so much in this one.

And this is Liberty City! Not New York. Remember, Liberty City is based off New York, which is why it has New York symbols. But if you look a bit in the trailer, there are many references to the word "Liberty" everywhere.

And we dont know that is the main character. He could be anyone. And to say he is a bum? He says that he has killed people and smuggled people. Not exactly a bum.

Well the reason the last five have all had GTA III: Subtitle is because they were all developed and run on the same engine. That means they all could accomplish similar things and all looked fairly similar because they were all built and run on the same processing engine. This one will be GTAIV because it's the start of a completely new and fresh engine. The gameplay will probably not be substancially different... but it should allow you to do much much more because of the new engine.

EDIT: The Russian guy is the main character, btw. If the internal monologue about his "new life in America" wasn't enough to clue you in, you can easily see him driving several different cars in the beginning of the trailer. He's the main character. lol

Looks like it's going to surpass the rest of the series and end up being better than the rest, but it has to top VIce City if it wants to be my favorite. The side missions, story line, and characters really made that the best game in the series so far IMO.
 
Maybe this will be one of the Key releases for the PS3, but as San Andreas came out for the XBOX I assume this too shall come out for the 360.

Looks good though, better than these "Liberty City Stories" rubbish anyway
 
Yea, it's releasing for the 360 and PS3 at the same time. Sony had exclusivity and lost it... then Microsoft payed lots of money to have them release on the same date.
 
My boyfriend will get this game, and then I won't see him for a long time. Then he'll convince me to try it and then I'll get addicted like I did with two. Never did anything in that game, just walked around and beat people up and then ran away from cops.
 
Yes, unfortunately. Although I own a XBox and a 360, I'd much rather see Sony do well. lol But right now there's no reason for me to buy a PS3... I keep searching for one... but I've yet to find it.

I don't want any of the companies to do well. Capitalist greeedy bastards, that goes for nintendo too.

Whatever is cheaper and has best games is the console I shall buy, in this case. Fuck Sony and their PS3, too expensive and has piss all releases so far.
 
Well the PS3 could really use some boosting (Wii rules, lol) and this looks quite good, not my type of thing but I'm not gonna say its a crap game, I mean I liked Vice City, played it for quiet some times and was really enjoyable, but as I said, its too realistic, games are to escape reality not create it.
 
I say the main advantage that the XBOX version of San Andreas had was the ability to use custom sound tracks, but since the basic PS3 comes with a HD standard, and the basic 360 doesn't, it should make things equal.

Also, I can't wait to see how they use the motion sensors.
( I bet they are going to be use in the flying parts of the game)
