Great Gospel

I got Aeris to learn Great Gospel once and once only. Most of you will know why I did that. It is cool for a 1 off so you can see it and say you have done it but quite honestly it is pointless. You can do the game just fine without using her at all...better even. The exp she steals (having her in team rather than having another character) is better spent on other characters.

I haven't gotten Great Gospel before, despite the fact that for my first playthrough I used Cloud, Aerith and Tifa for my party (up until Aerith's unfortunate mishap). I wasn't aware that she was going to bite the dust and I have a thing about always keeping the main character's love interest/s in the party with him/her in order to get the most out of the characters relationships.

As for why I didn't get great gospel... Well like I said, I didn't know she was going to end up on the bottom of a lake so I wasn't concerned with maxing her limit breaks out early or anything.

I never got to use Great Gospel, seeing that I never got Aerith's Level 2 limits, let alone her fourth one due to the circumstances involved.

I guess they gave her a fourth one to surprise the players at the end of Disc 1. In other words, a useful Limit Break that was probably a red herring all along.

The closest I've come to Great Gospal is watching it on Youtube. It looks quite nice (a little bit Sistine Chapel) but certainly not worth the trouble - at least for me.

I acquired Aerith's great gospel, but I never actually used it, as sad as that is. I decided I would keep her limit set on Healing Wind, since it was more useful than Breath of the Earth, so by the time I actually got her final limit, I couldn't even use it. I was so anxious to continue on with the game that I just said "screw it" and continued on to the Temple of the Ancients.

I never have gotten it because I knew she kicked the bucket and just didnt feel it was worth my time to invest in building her character

well I played this game through on 2 occasions so far, once when the game came out, approximately 2 months after and then again a year or so later.

The first play through I didn't even know it was possible to get Great Gospel aside from going to Gamefaqs, but since I didn't have Brady games guide, I said screw it and just played the normal story line. I also ended up missing "X-Item" and other multipliers. I did get pretty much everyone elses though.

Aerith tended to be pretty weak aside from magic. She really pissed me off early on, but when I progressed I noticed she had a very good limit breaker. As soon as I started enjoying it,
she died at the hands of Sephiroth
. So the next time around I leveled her up and made sure she was using her limit breaks as much as possible. I enjoyed her quite a bit for her support and overall utility and of course I went and received my Great Gospel.

I just wish I could of had her on end game fights and extra content as well, I missed her.

Tried years ago, and only got to her 3rd limit break and thought was going too far and then stopped leveling her up and then carried along with the game's storyline.

But after watching Advent Children and seeing the movie's version of the limit break, been really keen to search out and gain the limit break. Because have to admit, it looks pretty neat ! ^-^

Must admit I've never had it, 'cause I never have her in my party when I don't have to. I heard it's an effective limit break though.

I always get Aerith's Great Gospel, because she's my favourite character and I want to get as much use out of her as possible, and it's a really easy limit break to get.

I can understand why many don't bother though. If I didn't enjoy the character as much as I did, I wouldn't have bothered either.

It's a stupidly;y powerful limit though, so I can see why she has it, since if she was alive throughout the whole game, it would cheapen it immensely.

I've certainly never bothered with it nor, indeed, do I even bother to train Aerith, now that I know what happens. I can cope perfectly well without her final limit and the ball-ache of going out of the way to get it just doesn't appeal to me at all. No thanks. :derek:

I have gotten it each time I play through the game, but was never able to use it on her so that she could actually learn it. I think in all my previous play throughs I only got to her Fury Band limit break.

Although this time on my play through,I did get all of her other limit breaks so she would be able to use Great Gospel. I wanted to see,for myself, what it looked like and just have the satisfaction of being able to use it. It wasn't no where near as hard to get to it as I thought it was going to be. Although by the time I was able to use it,everyone's levels were so high that I really didn't have a need for it. It's a nice limit break nonetheless.

I get it.

I like to keep her in my party, partially because of what happens later, but I find her quite useful anyway. Long range materia, chuck her on the back row, steal the Striking Staff in the train graveyard and she can deal a decent amount of damage early on. After all that is passed just keeping her up-to-date with the best weapons available for her whenever they become available. That added with her limit breaks and magic she becomes a perfect party member.

Great Gospel just adds to this. Just a shame that Princess Guard doesn't get much use.

I rarely ever used Aerith in battle unless I had to so even though I would get the manual, I wouldn't be able to use it. I did get it on one playthrough when I was trying to use different characters than my usual (Cloud, Cid and Vincent). I got to use the actual limit once but I wasn't really all that impressed.

I get Great Gospel whenever I play. I'm a perfectionist so I see it as just another part of completing the game. I really do like Aerith though, and I constantly have her in my party until...we-all-know-what.

I never really took the time to level Aeris with my main party. Not because of what happens, just because I didnt think she was that good. But from what I've read from some it looks like its worth getting that limit break. So when I get time and remake another file I think I might just do that.
Thanks for the advice

Honestly I never bothered on even getting the great gospel because first of all even if I did get it I haven't even gotten the Level 2 Limit Break so pointless and I only found out how to get when she well already died so I just let it be but before Aerith died I never removed her from my party so that she won't be wasted after all
