So far Dissidia looks awesome, but we've only seen the Japanese product. There's no indication that the game will be just as good outside Japan.
What do I mean by that? Well there's the difference in translation, voice acting, maybe even the possibility of censoring some scenes, etc.

So what I'd like to know is: what's your greatest fear in relation to Dissidia?

Ex: My greatest fear is that they'll screw up a character's personality due to translation. I'd never forgive Square-Enix if they screwed up a favorite character of mine. D:

Well the greatest fear of dissidia in english for me would have to be if they Fuck Up Terra. I love Terra so much in this game and they have better not fucking screw her up! I want everything that she was in the japanese version in other words.

My fear for an english dissidia is that they might make characters that have great japanese voices suck in english I mean its alright with others but some of them need not be changed

My fear for an english dissidia is that they **** up Tidus voice. I hopes that James Arnold Taylor will be his voiceactor again!!!

To be honest I haven't really thought about it. I'm not really afraid of what they might screw up, I'll decide what I hate about the game after I've played it.

I don't think you have to worry about that. From what I've heard he's doing the voice.

My one true fear is that they might screw up the characters voices. I'd hate to battle as a character whose voice was either to scratchy or too rough. I only hope the game is tougher than it looks. I remember that games in Japan from the US are usually harder. Their Hard Mode is our Easy setting.

Definitely screwing up the voice acting... u.u;;;; Not for any characters that so far have had voice actors, but for the ones that haven't had voice actors before, like Zidane, Firion, and Terra. I'm not too worried about Squall, seeing as how I loved his voice in KH.

But I'm not TOO worried. OuO I think most of the voice acting presented in SE games has been great, so I really have no fears.

Messing up the voice acting is a huge fear for me too. Especially for characters that have never had voices before - particularly worried about Terra, Kefka and Zidane. I'm worried they'll create voices that just won't match the character and make them sound awful.

The voice acting, definetly. I really can't think of any other thing they might screw up in western versions. Kefka sounds great in the Japanese version, I wouldn't like to see that ruined. XD

Good to know James Arnold Taylor is dubbing Tidus again though. :monster: I got used to him.

My greatest fear is for Dissidia to end up with horrible voice acting. I've come across that way too many times in video games, so I don't want Dissidia's english dub to end up the same way.

my greatest fear is that chick that showed up in my story mode one time.she had some powerful attacks and beat me a record 23 times before i gave up. damn arsehole. i do not want to see her again

Worms. Worms scare the hell out of me.

What? xD

You do know this is a thread for Dissidia right? :wacky:

Um greatest fear? Can't say I have one, Ive never had much of a problem with voiceacting, although Im worried that the characters Im used to reading their responses dont sound liek anything I imagined in my head....

That would be pretty dire actually... I know I never liked Aeriths voice actors much...for like...anything really, she always seemed to be too spftly spoken and it did my head in

So I think its something like that, or hating the battle system, that would suck, seeing as thats what happened with WoTL, and FFTA. I ahted the battle system so much, if I hate the fighting style in this, then its essentially game over for me

It's true though. I mean technically looking at it, American's have a "pick-up-and-go" play-style. Japanese like the technical shit, which hey, some American's do, but mostly the demographic go for simpler things. That's why Nintendo makes some big bucks yearly.

As for my greatest fear about Dissidia, I really hope they keep EVERYTHING. I hate it when some games don't have a Japanese voices/subtitles option. That's sincerely what I think will fix any major issue in this game in a port to the US. Not only that, but hopefully they won't censor anything out. That'll suck....very badly >_<

The voice acting. They messed up Zidane's voice acting, and Kuja's voice is meh. The rest seem ok.

I have the game in Japanese.
I'm not really afraid of them messing it up, because the gameplay
will be the same right? They can't change that too can they?
Even if they do I'll still have this version.

The only thing I am worried about is various pronuncation uses, mainly Zidane and Tidus.

Zidane can really be mangled if they aren't careful and we all know of Tie-dus/Tee-dus. I am actually wondering if they are going to continue referring to Tidus as "him" or at least do what KH did and use both versions.

My fear is that they will keep it the same. When it came out in Japan the info was leaked everywhere and is nearly common knowledge. If they keep the same then there won't be anything to look forward to.

I usually play only RPG or Fighting games, so it is perfectly fits into my collection.

My greatest fear is from the spoilers about final bosses.
In other words, I must complete all FFs as fast as I can.

Aside of that, I afraid the the game won't be good. I really hope it'll have a plo.
It is both a fighting game and a crossover, two things that may make it plotless.
