What does this ability even do? I've had it equipped pretty much since learning it, but I have no idea what it actually does....haha

The ability heals all status ailments (Silence, Poison etc) immediately at the end of the battle. The effect applies before EXP/AP is gained, so it works wonders against Virus.

Yeah Lurid pretty much sums it up. This is how it's described in a FF wiki site:

"The support ability Guardian Mog, is a unique ability that only Eiko may learn from a Ribbon or a Madain Ring. With the ability equipped, Eiko is cleansed of all status ailments she may have been inflicted with, during any particular battle, before the Experience Points and Ability Points are distributed to party members (except for the Knocked Out status). Strangely, even though Eiko can learn the ability early in the game, it does not function until the party receives the first Ribbon item"

Tbh, that's what I thought was gunna happen, and it never did, I just assumed I was doing something wrong or I needed an item equipped aswel as the abilities...how wrong could I have been xD

So that explains it! There were many a battle when I'd finish up, go to my menu, and try to heal Eiko of "x" status and it would be gone... but somebody else still had it. I was so confused. I'm glad I know what Guardian Mog does now, because I didn't before, lol.
