i was just bad breather by great malboro in omaga ruins and probably hadn't saved for an hour , it was a bad one with everyone confused blind poisoned and whatever else, i thought i was done for then out of nowhere khimari, while blind as a bat runs up and one hits that ugly drooling mother f***er.
anyone else witnessed something as epic as this

No. Doesn't matter how maxed out my stats were or how 'leveled' they were... they always managed to take each other out and game over'd. It was like watching a horrible accident unfolding before your eyes.

I've survived a few bad breaths- it depends on what you've got on your armour.

FFX badbreath is really easy to escape from.......most off the time, the nature of the CTB System does not allow for all the Status ailments to hit repeatedly like they did on FF games that use the ATB.

The Great Malboro is a killer because of it first strike thingy.....Preparation is needed in the Omega Ruins(duh) and thankfully I aint never gone in there under estimating the critters and guarding against a the characters primary Attack type Blind for the Physical attack guys and silence for the Mages as well as confuse and Curse.

Because when an Overdrive can be reached you dont wanna not be able to use it!

Its even easier if you have Ribbon on everyone.......but I cheated to get that so it dont count.

I hated bad breath in FF8. Damn Malboros :brooding:// And in 10, they suck just as much// using auto-med and sleep-proof, confuse-proof etc. help even the odds.. and beat that ugly f*cker as fast as you can lol

the worst part is the poison bit, which was so over-powered in X. what was it, 1/4 of your hp in one turn? it was quite ridiculous.

most of the time I had someone with First Strike as one of their abilities, so that I can just flee whenever I encountered the thing without it breathing. Once I got ribbons it was no problem, mostly cos there was no need to go back to the place once you have them.

Personally, I use Armor with Confuseproof and Berserkproof. These are the 2 main attributes needed to maintain control of your characters. If they have Auto-Med, then they'll automatically throw a Remedy to cure the other, lesser ailments, but a healthy supply of Remedy's are needed. At least with Blind, Silence, Curse and Slow, you'll still have control over your character. A simple Esuna will take care of everything except the Curse, which I don't see as really necessary in this case, even with low stats.

I made sure Yuna had confuse-proof and bersek proof and something else, then I cast auto-life on the others to make sure they would survive, then I healed the characters (or they died and got ressurrected) and then easily killed him. But one time I forgot to put Yuna in my team so two hours of hard work was lost. I even stood in front of the save point!

With status proof armor: Numerous, easily

Without status proof armor: I think I only lucked out once or twice in this game with one character still under my control. However after that I usually just run away because it is not worth trying to heal the party and try to continue only to get hit by another Bad Breath again and actually completely destroy my party.

this has happened to me on a few occasions, having break Damage limit thrown onto My Tidus' Tamer sword (Bought from the arena guy with the free slot as well as capture) gave me the ultimate monster catching character, and a couple of times i got hit with a Bad breath with no Proof's what so ever i was like "NOOOOOOOOOOOO" and then tidus leaps forward and one-bombs it, i was like "COME ON BABY" so yea, this has happened to me, and i have unleashed the lucky killing blow a few times.

Well, it's pretty easy to dodge it with status-proof armor, but if you don't you pretty much end up killing each other EVERY SINGLE TIME...

Poison is way to effective in FFX. It's only two turns before you're dead, at the same time, your characters are attacking each other. Bad Breath is definitly the most annoying attack in FFX.

Survived a lot of them lately what with my characters all having ribbon and all, but before that I only ever survived it once and that was because wakka had confuseproof and luckily avoided being sent berserk. Then Yuna tried to kill Tidus, missed, so he counter-attacked and killed her, then poison got him and Wakka fortunately escaped.

Bad breath really wouldn't as much suck if it hadn't had confuse in it. I mean, there's not a worser death, than having your own party killed by a member and then he goes on to kill himself............

the onlt times it pissed me off would be when someone like Auron,Tidus,Wakka or Kimahri got confused..........cause they'd easily kill any of my part members with one shot.(didn't mind if Yuna or Lulu got confused)

But normally I'd just summon an aeon and get it over with.........You still survive if you do!

That's a real evil one- I managed to somehow acquire a weapon for Tidus that had First Strike and Initiative on it, so I usually get him to flee before they do anything bad...
But I wanna be able to beat the sod- I need to capture it

Yes I have once or twice WITHOUT RIBBON -_- isnt it obvious with ribbon everyone could survive lolzz

I survived once cuz I let them fight eachother (confuse) and my rikku was uber weak and she actually hit one of my teammembers...so I let that one escape the hell outta there or I cured everyone with that character to kill off that demon Marlboro..:hmmm:
cant remember....hmmm

Honestly I think I just ran off like a bitch :awesome:

Yes, I believe I have.
The worst parts of Bad Breath have got to be confusion and berserk, in that order.
If you're confused you can't even attempt to get out, same with berserk, but with the other status effects you can normally get your way out of it.
If you think about it, Bad Breath, whilst being the Malboro's signature move, is really the only one that can cause you any trouble.
Especially in X, their physical attacks aren't that bad, but Bad Breath can take a party down in a few turns.

You do get lucky sometimes though and have a member who you can control, so you just work your way from there, if they're all doing their own thing though it's very tough to get out of it.

Well, the only time I believe that i have ever survived was with Tidus, Auron, and Yuna. Everyone had the full effect of Bad Breath except Yuna. For some reason... Berserk had not affected her. With that small window of escape I used Dispel on Tidus which allowed me to use Flee. Thus, allowing me to run for my life and live another day!

nothing stops them only ribbon i had blind proof or confuse proof for the time been and that does not stop it or am i just unlucky what i hate is i would kill omega save the game run all the way back to get the box that was where i killed him and get halfway back only for one of those anoying slimey plant looking thing that got to big for its plant pot (i think they look like plants anyone else?) to bad breath me:/ and then game over
