Hello! Final Fantasy Newb here! :'D

[Lingering Nightmare]

Hello! I'm Lingering Nightmare! I'm a 25 year old female living in the USA. I enjoy watching anime and reading manga as well as Light Novels! I also casually play JRPG and Strategy games when I can afford them! I'm a HUGE Kingdom Hearts and Persona fan who funnily enough- never played a Final Fantasy game beyond an hour ^^; (I've tried playing Final Fantasy, 4, 5, and 6 but old school games seem to hate me and like to see my dumb self suffer xD)

I also attempted to play a rented copy of X-2 wayyyyy back as a young teen not knowing it was necessary to play the FIRST one and thus I never got past my first random encounter before I took it back >.<;; Back in the early 2000's when the first Kingdom Hearts came out I had no clue who "The brown haired Gunblade wielder" was. (Funny how I got his weapon name right xD) or who the "Spiky haired blond with the huge sword" was.

I just knew they were trying to wreck my ass and succeeded xD I honestly thought "Leon"/Squall and Yuffie were from the same game because I couldn't understand roman numerals and shipped the two together xD So basically I was a complete and utterly oblivious noob to Final Fantasy up until Final Fantasy: Advent Children came out where I actually started to get interested in the games. Of course I haven't played any other FF games except for the ones I mentioned but that's the glory of the internet for information xD

I someday will get a Ps3/4 and get all the FF games I can but it's not likely right now >.< Lastly, my favorite Kingdom Hearts character is Roxas, I despise the"Axel x Roxas" pairing with an unbridled passion, and I totally support the Sora x Riku x Kairi OT3 x) <3 Er, seeing as this is getting pretty long I'll end my rant here haha! Hope to be active but I'm a shy poster and often think my opinions and theories are dumb so I don't share them much >>;; But I'll try! :')

Welcome!!! There's never a "perfect" time to get into the fandom. Whenever it happens, is the perfect time for you!

Obviously, I highly recommend getting into the classics. VII is a must-play simply for the fact that it's the one everyone loves. Despite it not being my favorite, I can admit that it's worth playing multiple times. As VIII is my favorite, I highly recommend you play it. It's not for everyone, and there are quite a few people who claim to hate it. I always say everything deserves one try, so you can form your own opinion. IX is beautiful, X is beautiful, IV is wonderful. Really, they all are.

Also, I hate the Axel x Roxas pairing as well. Can't jump on that ship. Nope.

@ H34rt1lly - Yeah, I believe you're right on the "perfect" time! x) Also, I heard that VIII was good! My friend has often gushed to me about IX being amazing. She's a HUGE fan of FF9 but she says not many FF fans liked it because of it's "childish graphics" despite it having from what I can tell- a pretty dark plot later ion. (And an amazing villain) One thing I have realized is that most FF practically worship villains such as Sephiroth and Kefka- but everyone forgets FFII's villain The Emperor who not only became a God but SATAN too! At the SAME time!

Yet I see people still say that he's "nothing" compared to Kefka. :T It's probably why I don't like Kefka that much... He's cool and all, but his personality (or lack of therefore) irks me to no end. He's pretty much a magical Joker from DC comics. My friend got me into liking FFII as well though she warned me of it's difficulty so I only know about the story from her xD Er... sorry for the off topic rant ^^;; But, I definitely intend to try out FFVIII one day! I just need the monies to buy a Ps3/4 xDD

@ Lord Sesshomaru - Can I just say that I LOVE your name? Sesshomaru is my favorite Inuyasha character hands down! I also adore Rin and Kagome :') And of course I love Inuyasha himself x) In fact- I like ALL of the main cast members! Yes, even Jaken and Naraku xD And I'm susprised that you are surprised that I presented myself well. ouo;; I kinda just ranted really xD I'm happy you approve though! Haha! I also hope to be/stay active and post lots! I want those achievements! xD

Also, I never finished VI so I never fully got to see Kefka being crazy ha. Well, then again he's always crazy.

Hello there, welcome to FFF. Interesting and quite hilarious story there. xD I've only played the first Kingdom Hearts and a tiny portion of the second game (PS version). I should just purchase the second one for the PS3 since it comes with a bundle. Quite cheap now too. At the very least, I know my kids would enjoy it.

Well lucky for you, FFVII remake is coming out...who knows when. Maybe start there? But really would recommend starting the original FF7 version, maybe even FF8 and FF9. Those three are my favorites. You can play FF7 and FF8 on Steam now since you mentioned you don't have a PS3.

The reason why I said that I'm impressed by the way you presented yourself is because not all people present themself like you did when you joined the forum. Most of them just post a little and that's it. Also I'm a fan of Sesshomaru since I first saw the anime but I didn't get to see the whole series. He is a pretty cool character and my favorite in the series.

Heh, I've not played Kingdom Hearts for more than an hour myself. And with the overarching story being an insanely complicated as it is, it's going to be an insurmountable challenge for me, so I'm not in a hurry for Kingdom Hearts 3 to arrive.
