So yeah, noticed afew friendly hunters like Garifs and Bangaas strolling around the fields of Ivalice. Just got annoyied with a Garif seeing as im LP'ing my characters right up so killed him off.

Im not a bad person, honest. :P
 
Some of the Garif's you can kill off, others you can't. I tend to kill them, if able, just for the heck of it. You have to kill so many anyway to get their bestiary story and requirments, so ya might as well introduce him to the end of a Zodiac Spear every now and then.
 
Isn't the Zodiac Spear the weapon you can get only if you HAVENT picked up certain item chests? If so, I wont be getting that on this playthrough (Not using ANY guides what-so-ever for first playthrough!).

I've been able to kill them all so far. But have noticed some tend to have abit of an arse-hole on them and put up a good fight.

It most cetainly is. I know I won't be getting it. So far I've opened every one of the ones you aren't supposed to >_<
One of those damn Garif warriors attacked me for no reason once. I was really pissed off with him. He nearly finished me off
 
you know if you opened the chests you can still get the spear later in the lower henne mines.......
 
I killed my fair share of Garifs. They didn't have any trouble welcoming me into their community later, though. Forgiving chaps.
 
You know beforehand, when there was a Garif warrior hanging around, before u actually went into the village first time around? I pretty much did not kill that guy, for storyline purposes. XD
 
In line with recent discussion. At what point in the game do you think I could start to hunt in Lower Henne Mines for the Zodiac Spear. I'll be waiting for the Diamond Armlet anyways but at what point would it become unlocked?
 
Garifs are good for one thing, and one thing only... Killing :)

EDIT: Does that make me such a bad person?

No, they have some good Hunts to provide you with, aswell as a nice little sidequest invloving a Cockatrice. I LOVE how those things talk ^_^
