Hello!

New to the forum. Hoping to make lots of FF buddies because I’m sure my roommates are sick of me at this point xD I can only game casually because of my insane work schedule, but FF grabbed me from middle school. I don’t remember if 6 or 7 was my first one. 7 is my favorite, but I think 9 is the best. I’m an avid merch collector, got a few grand tied up in figures lol. Want to see where the FF obsession took others. <3

With that said, it's great to see another diehard fan of the franchise around! If I'm perfectly honest, it's only when I think about it that I realised that I've started to build up quite the collection of FF paraphernalia - although, nothing remotely close as to the size you're speaking about. There are a few avid collectors of FF music around these parts (collector's vinyl, CDs, that sort of thing), so if that floats your boat feel free to check that out!

I certainly will not get sick of you talking about FF here! It is great when people are passionate about it. I guess that's why we end up floating here eventually.

I can respect your view that FFVII is your favourite but FFIX is the best. I've always struggled to choose my absolute favourite and have tended to lump FFVI-FFIX all together as my favourites (however even that is an unsteady opinion with me now that I play FFXIV...). But the one game I could not bear to lose would be FFVII (my first). If I had to choose only one game to save, and the rest had to be binned, I would pick FFVII. But at the same time I do acknowledge that the script and narrative balance of FFIX seems better.

Let us hope we never have to put any of these games in the bin though.

Hi, welcome aboard!

My obession with FF has certainly a big effect on my life, the creativity within the games inspired me to seek out explore art and story making - As FFVII was the 1st game I played in which the story was so grand and important to the experience!

I've gathered many FF trinkets over the way, mostly guide books and Soundtracks as I see them as key parts to the FF experience (I hope FF16 releases wit ha Piggyback strategy guide). I have a couple of figures the Play Arts Vivi one, a Kingdom Hearts variant of Sephiroth. The one series I would like to collect is the Final Fantasy VIII Artfx range. Final Fantasy VIII's art direction is wonderful to me, I love the sleek european/futuristic designs to towns and vehicles. But the designs of the GF's/Summons are my favourite within the series - Odin's design being my favourites among all FF Summon desgins. These figures look great and I would love to get them all one day:

7 is also my favourite, but I guess I do also have a soft spot for 9 & 12. I have to admit I'm not one of the biggest FF fans out there, as I've only played 7 and up (minus a few) but 7 definitely got me hooked.

Have you played the remake? What'd you think, if so? :D
 
Welcome to the forums. I'm not much a collector myself, I prefer to enjoy FF differently. VII is also my favorite and it had a big impact on me (it was because of VII that I decided to join my first forums and discovered may things such as anime and online friends etc.) I dunno if I agree about IX, it's a pretty charming game and I enjoyed it, but I found VII plot way more interesting and the fact that it is a jumbled mess (regarding timelines) makes it all the more interesting to me. FFX's plot was also really good in my eyes, so that might be a contender for me.
