Seeing as someone has been on an archiving spree, Ima have to recreate said thread xD

What was your highest chain? Where did you do it, and do you make a habit of trying to achive high chains?

I get bored pretty easily, but Ive been trying to get some high chains on this run through. I managed to get 136 in The stilshrine of Miriam, on those undead dudes before I got epically bored. Before that I got about 103 in the sandsea place on those urtan yensa chaps, that required no effort at all, saeeing as the damn area was huge.....

not sure if I'l ever bother going for much over 20 or so in future. Cba tbqh

I didn't spend that much time chaining, all that springs to mind is this one time when I chaining in the Feywood to gather loot because I was low on Gil at the time. I can't remember exactly how many monsters I chained or what I was killing for that matter but I reached about 130-150.

I say this tongue-in-cheek, because I hate when people brag about this sort of thing...but it's also good advice. :monster:

Chains in the high hundreds are quite possible. I've gotten in the 400-500s before I got bored, and here's how: take advantage of that one room in the Henne Mines that spawns liek 20 or so of those blue Flan thingies. Just flip the switch, use Fira (two castings kills a whole mess of 'em), then run around to the room and flip the switch again. They'll all respawn, making for quick and easy chains. It's a great way to make some good money. =P

Just make sure to not kill any of the enemies as you circle around. Naturally, the chain would get ruined. :wacky:

I think the highest I ever did was around 150 and it was in the forest that had the little Marbolo things(cant think where right now). I remember the Yreka-Sand Sea was also a good place for chains. I remember I chained in the forest for a good 4 hours strait one time, mostly for massive amounts of loot. I think it was on of the cooler things that you could do in 12.:P

I maxed it out auto-leveling with Neglamuur.

Actually physically playing, like 150-ish leveling with skeletons in the Lhusu mines. I never made a habit of it because it's boring and staring at Fran's ass is only interesting for so long...

111.

I was at the Nabudis Dreadlands and fighting in one of the areas doing the Chaos sidequest when I just kept going from screen to screen fighting some enemies. In most areas the enemies stop coming after a while, but these ones kept respawing over and over and over again.

I was actually sad enough to chain Alraunes in the Sandsea.... I got a chain of 336... But this was fairly early in the game and I was chaining for the succulent fruits to get some extra spending money for Hunts... I think. >_> Or maybe I was bored, I really don't know.

I usually chain to about 100-150 if I'm looting. Chaining Malboros is fun :monster:

I tried to chain Behemoths in the Great Crystal... I think I got to 30 before a damn Gargoyle Baron got in the way. =__=

Somewhere between 200-220. I was chaining those skeleton guys that you fight in the Lhusa mines. Doing it that early means you can finish the game quickly as you don't have to do it throughout the game.

My top few (no Negalmuur) are 999 on Abysteels in the Henne Mines, 300 on Shambling Corpses (my MINIONS!), 250 on Urutain Yensas, and probably about 400 on Dead Bones in Zeromus' chamber, after you beat him.

I did like 300 in the deadlands leveling up with those skeletons by that big toad shrine. Great exp for such fast kills, three one hit kills a second, after 300+ chain, levels start soaring.

My highest chain was in the Henne Mines and it was you guessed it a chain of 999 on those abysteel bats. I was doing some major leveling up. ( My characters were all on 67 through 69 with Vaan being on 71) So i decided to hit up the level spot thats all the craze on youtube. I set my gambits accordingly and went to town. All my characters are now on 99 and while i was at it i chained them to the max. I thought i would kill two birds with one stone. When you start chainging them crazy like that you get a lot of demon shields which i ended up selling for a nice profit.

To active that section of the mine you have to have unlocked at least 10 espers then talk to a Garif south of the shop at Jahara. This is also how to get to the epser Zodiark as well.

I heard a lot about the Henne Mines, but I only went down there to get Zodiark and left, I didn't investigate it enough to find out about its level up possibilities, I just heard that the bats were endless with good exp. I dont know, by the time I had heard about this, I was already level 99 from chainin 500+ skeletons together in the deadlands.

Side note, it's fun gettin all the summons, isnt it? Except Ultima... =\

well I'm the only one.

I got 999 by going to over looking eternity. thats as high as it gets. that was just leveling up though I remember I got like 150 justr going around fighting during the story.

My highest chain was somewhere in the 200's. I know I can get higher but I just do not feel like doing that for some reason. I just really care about progressing through the story.

I think my highest was somewhere between 180-200. It was at the Zombies in Lhusu Mines, but my brother saved over that file. Something about It being at Southgate and him thinking it was an account where I was only up to getting a Sunstone. I've started using a powerleveling account. My Vaan is already level 13, via the Dustia method. I haven't even entered the palace yet.

My highest was something around 600-700.

Was fighting those Abassyle Bats (sp?), In the Henne Mines. Took me forever to get to fight the espers to get the secret area though. -__-

But it was worth it, each trip I got around 10 lvs, after bout' 4 trips or so when my characters were 61 I got them to 99.

I have to answers to this: my first is that I managed to obtain somewhere between 100 and 200 by defeating the Yensa in the Sandseas. This was a legitimate effort and was used to train/farm gil. My second answer is that I've managed to attain 999 simply by leaving the Negalmuur levelling cheat on overnight.
