Has any one else noticed how the Turks are alot like the SS in Germany in real life? Aeris describes them as being heartless and doing dirty jobs like kidnapping and murder? i think Square Soft gets some of there story lines from our Histroy?
Has anyone else picked up on anything else like that?

Yeah, the Turks did remind me a bit of Nazis... Hmm. Maybe they could be like a corrupt intelligence agency, like a lot of countries have? (Good example- FBI)

yeah i never thought of it like that thats a very good point i think they probably do get there story lines from historical events and kinda base them around things that have happened in the past

Exactly.
Thank to this thread now I'm actually doing some thinking here...

How about the fact that mako reactors resemble our own nuclear reactors, plus the dangers associated with them.
And I totally agree with Nazi thing. That's a good point.
I'll try to think of some more later.

Don't forget the knights of the round; in relevance to King Arthur! ^_^

OH!
And meteor in reference to how they seem to always smash into the planet and destroy all life on it.

yeah and the Shinra kind've represent a corrupt form of government, hungry for power. Midgar seems to be the only advanced city in the game (sorta like the US or another big country) and a lot of the other cities seem less advanced (look at the early difference between Midgar and Kalm.) it seems to represent our world today where you've got a few big powers in charge and a lot of the others are just sorta left on their own  :shame:

Turks kinda sound like a German-ish evil crew i think but what government doesnt have that kind of secret group?

To that I say none.

How 'bout the cannons in Junon and Midgar. Since we're in this WWII context I associated those with 'Big Bertha' and the other German rail guns at the time. Extremely long range and devastating power.

Lol the Turks always reminded me of chicago mobsters...until I looked up the geographical reference to the real Turks...

YEAHHHHH!!!! Why didnt i think of that??? LOL

Warbourne that is such a good point!! The whole Mako reactor thing being connected to our Nuclear Powerplants today!
Hmmmmmmmmm but wat else is there?? im sure there is more!!!
hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
(thinking)^_^
But any ways im glad i got to get yous to stimulate your minds on the topic!!
lol:D

Yeah I guess you could say that?
But its more of like the major historical events that were looking at?
lol:D

ya know how cloud ran off to be in soldier when he was young? didnt a bunch of guys sign up for the army in the US? (with all the "I Want You" advertisements?)

Yeah

Yeah that happened in Australia too. Boy's running away to join the army and to become the best! (hero's) But of corse we no they were!! The good old ANZAC's!!! Its ANZAC Day tomorrow!! Dont forget to show respect by standing silent for 1 minute at 11 o'clock!!!:P

there are some small simalarities, but dude, it's final fantasy, it's not real.

ff7 also highlights that big companies are taking over and have the power to take freedom. like some companies today that have there own personal army so you cant say anything bad about them or else. and the laws on there side.
put it this way i dont think it can be remade since it touches on so many political issues that and its not pc
